Thanks for the comparison Mel! I ordered the one from Michael's the day you showed them to us! I really like it!!! I cannot get to Ikea since it's 2 1/2 hours away & driving distances is a challenge for me. The closest Michael's is an hour away & that's why I just ordered it online. I have wanted the Raskog cart forever so I am glad that Michael's came out with their version of it! I haven't looked for the ones in Walmart or anywhere, I'm just pleased with the one I got!!
I purchased the cart from Michael's and love it! When you build the white one and share, can you show how the cup holder thing fits on the M's cart? I may need a few of those. Thanks

I was going to purchase one from Michaels but it says that the weight limit on each tray is 6.6 lbs. That made me worry because I have more weight than that on my raskog shelves. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the comparison video. I love my Raskogs and I had a feeling Michael’s cart wasn’t as good as the Raskog. I used to live just over the river from Philly, (10 or 15 minutes from Cherry Hill, and shopped at the same IKEA. I miss it so much. I bought my Raskogs online because I live near Rochester now and the nearest IKEA is in Pittsburgh...3 purchased and one free replacement because one arrived damaged, they told me to keep the damaged one, if I wanted it so my older daughter asked for it and loves hers. I, too, painted one, (pink), and gave it as a baby shower gift to my daughter and son-in-law for a baby shower gift. They love it. I’m thinking of ordering another one. I use one for my planner stuff, and the other in my kitchen for cleaning supplies. They’re great in my studio apartment. Thanks, again for the video.
thats great they let you keep the damaged one and it was still functional n how cool to use one for a baby shower gift! would be PERFECT for a diaper/bathtime accessory caddy!

I'm in the market for one of these right now. One thing I was hoping you would mention is foot print each of them take. It looks like the Michaels has wheels that come out further into the room can you confirm?

This was a very helpful video, thank you! I was thinking about getting the Lexington cart in mint for to use as a night stand aside from my platform bed and wanted to get a good in person look at it before I got it and I believe it will work quite fine and for some reason I kind of like and prefer the Lexington one more (esp. for the locking wheels and the square type look the bins have)! 🙂

Thank you for posting this video. I'm a planner newbie, and wanted a cart. IKEA is cheaper, $24 but the nearest one is about 2 hrs away, (with $10 shipping) vs the Recollections cart, which is now $30, (no coupon can be used due to its new status Everyday Value) but is about 40 minutes away. Guess I'll head to Micheals😊

thanks for doing the comparison. yes, please show the white one when you put it together. i'm still waiting to make a decision as to which one to buy. i was about to get the one from target but the stores near me are out of them. i would like the white color and wish ikea had that color available since they ship and target doesn't.

Has the paint you put on the raskog cart chipped off? I’m trying to decide because I want a grey one from ikea but they don’t have it. So I was thinking I could spray paint my raskog one, but I’ve heard it chips

I m late to this party - almost a year so I wonder what is still out there. Michael's has one out right now I just saw them in the store for $30. It's an Everyday Value so you can't use any coupons :-(. I think it is just like the one here. I too am a Jersey Girl and live one Turnpike exit from Ikea but never ever go. I think I was there twice. No particular reason. Here in your video I prefer the one from Ikea. I prefer the rounded shape over the more squared. I have to decide which I want and see if the IKEA one is still available. Thanks for bringing these to my attention :-)

The Michaels in Washington right now in October 2017 are running for 24.99.
FYI, Aldi sells them for $25. I saw white. I'm in Philly though so I don't know if you have Aldi closer to you. That toll sucks lol. But I plan on getting a couple and spray painting. Anyway, great video. Love all the info.

Here in Canada we do get the coupons 40 to60 percent off. The problem is they added this cart to the everyday value which you can't use a coupon but it is $49.99.
I know this is an older video but do the accessories cups work on the Michael's cart? Also what did you paint it with, is it holding up?
CraftyEeyoreLover yes the cups do work on the Michael's cart ...and I used Krylon spray paint in the color gumdrop and robins egg blue and they are holding up very nicely I did do a few coats though hope this helps hugs Mel

overall, which would you buy? currently they both cost $30 in both stores and I am not too far from either store so I don't mind buying either I just want the best one. I plan on using one for books (just like a cute makeshift shelf and another for more craft things like my folders and notebooks... Anyone have any opinions on which I should get?

I live in Canada. Just saw these at Michael's. They were $49 plus they have a 40% off coupon.
It is now an Extra Value item so no coupons.
I purchased 2 carts from Michaels and am very happy with them. My IKEA is way to far to go and closest will be open in the fall. I think the IKEA is powder coated but this is fine for me. I wondered if they both had mesh bottoms and they do. Is there a hanger for Michaels like the one from IKEA? Thanks for doing this video and I hope you're feeling better soon.

Costco cart has 4 shelves and a brake. Painted mine Robins egg blue also. It comes in a kind of an industrial color. Got a second one today.

In my area Michaels has this cart for $59, Ikea has them for $25. I was able to get the Michaels one half off, Ikea is near but more than $5 worth of gas.

Hi, just some update. Here in Canada, IKEA has raised the price to $49…Michaels is the same and can not use coupons. I just got one from Michaels on sale for $19.99. But IKEA cart is the best quality. So sad they doubled the price.

I bought my cart at IKEA, does anyone know if the cart topper they sell at Michael’s would fit the ikea brand?
The weight restriction is the one thing that has made me hesitate to buy the Michaels brand which has a much lower weight restriction. I think the box I was looking at said 26lbs? which did not seem very sturdy to me. I don't remember what the weight storage restiction is on my Raskog cart. Do you notice a difference?
Mimi C not at all... in fact I have more on my micheals cart than my IKEA cart lol . Still rolls fine, never tips etc... you can however visually notice the thinner side bars on the micheals cart but it doesn't seem to make a difference for me anyway 😊👍🏼
We get in Canada the 20% and and 30% off your entire purchase often enough, about once a month in the fall and thru the holidays, in the winter not as often,
IKEA is located off RT I, north just across from the sport arena. I am originally from NJ now from Florida. I really liked that IKEA.

I like the Lexington because of the rose gold finish. I want to spray paint my Raskog rose gold. Although it's a really small difference, I actually like the way the shelves on the Raskog look. Thanks for doing the comparison. =)
yea the raskog shelves have a tad of a rounded lip on them:) The paint is a lot of work but it can be done! I like my raskogs so much better after I painted them "my" color lol Hugs~Mel

Lynn Griffin oh my gosh this is great! I've been to that area before! We used to have a Tuesday morning right in Deptford but ours closed down as well... there is one about 30 minutes from here, near my moms house in the Audubon area ...I do visit that one sometimes but it's not real close

You can spray them but you need to give it 5 coats
They sell some like that at Wal-Mart. I have to see how they differ. I want to get one for my spices cause I'm short and hate having to reach the highest cabinet....
