  • I did a review of Michael's $50 Gramercy cart a few months back and I wanted to give you all an update. Would I purchase this same gramercy cart again or opt for the less expensive one? What features of this gramercy cart do I like and which ones aren't useful?

I have a few of these regular ones. I started with the $30.00 it has been great. On January they had this one for sale. I bought one for my weaving. I love it. I was planning to buy another when they have it back on 50.00 for my art stuff. I have so much paint I have them in closed containers I bought them in Joanne and put them by colors. Much easier for me. I tried to put my paints in one of the cheaper one and it didn't work. I am still on the fence on the expensive one but I like it has the long rod because I can put paper towels there. maybe get a pegboard for the other sides. I wish Dollar tree had the peg board they had a while ago. It would fit perfect.

Thank you for both of your reviews on this cart. I was going to purchase one and because of your thorough follow up review, I am going to rethink my order and probably just get the one without all the bells and whistles.

you can things from the dollar store to help out with the issue you had for the part of the cart where you have the ropes on just that bar you could get a container that fits inside there maybe. Also the top where the paints are in the first tray you could get some heavy plastic or chip board or even foam board and make it taller than the bottles and that might keep them from falling out.. Also you could maybe get a small piece of thin wooden board to put on the piece that has those extra hooks on the side and make a little shelf or you could get a long skinny container wide enough and kind of deep that might fit there and make it like another place to keep more paints or little things. I hope i make some sense lol.. I have one of the carts you got here and then i went and bought 3 or the other ones without all the extras.. You can still add stuff to the carts without the gadget by using dollar tree wired shower caddies and attach little baskets to it with zip ties etc and you can buy little baskets that hold things inisde and make more storage space.. I have one lady i follow called LifeDIYJosie She has some cool things she adds to the carts she uses It could be helpful Great video though i like how versitile these carts are . I just started using them for my carfting stuff and i think i am going to like using them

Thanks for the excellent review. I'm looking to purchase a cart and thought this would be the one because of all the extra hangers. I can see now that they would present a problem for me, like you. I'm so glad to watch this video.

I was originally going to order the $30 one, but each shelf only holds 6.6lbs. This particular one holds 20lbs per shelf, which I need for all of my pens and such. Still, great review!

Thanks! These videos were very helpful. I'm frugal so I was hesitant to get this one but after seeing your two videos, I think I'll get it. I usually buy the cheapest thing and then regret it later so I think I'll splurge this time.

Great review, thanks! I already have the IKEA one and love it. I am interested in this one because of the extra “stuff” on the outside. It is on sale right now plus I have a 20% off coupon so it is $40.00. Think I’m going to get it today and see how it works for me. Was thinking that those rods on the side would make a great place to put my thread spools since they don’t hang down and won’t impede the use of the trays.

I have both carts from Michael's and there is a large difference. The cheaper one is much smaller and not as sturdy. You could never fit all those paints in it and would have to hold it as you move it. I am going to buy some more pegboard baskets or containers from Amazon to further customize my carts.

I got both. I agree the smaller one.
My husband tightened the poles w pliers (rubber tipped) and it’s super sturdy now.
I don’t use the extras either.
      Plus more colors in smaller.

I want this one cause the one I bought from target was matte finish and kinda cheap looking so I returned it but I don’t need all the hanging things on it and I didn’t see the one without all that on the website unless it’s only in store, they also don’t allow the coupons to be used on this one, do you think it’s worth the $50 as far as quality and size

I bought this in teal and loved it so much I bought a 2nd unit in black! One is used my ribbons and a particular craft, and the other is a generalized but mostly calligraphy/writing items. Study, rolls easily and doesn't feel cheap. Good value for the price and 1 of my favourite craft storage units. (I made props for a living so I have TONS of different storage solutions.).
