    Fantastic video, thanks so much. Has given me the confidence to give it a go myself. One thing though, you should really put a jack stand under your car before you climb under and not just trust the jack, I'd hate for it to come down on your arm or something. Cant be too careful. I had this problem on my 2009 C200 saloon. The error codes were pointing the the right rear sensor even though the sensor itself was still working when I checked the live data on my scantool. I fitted a new sensor (sourced from a local motor factor which was cheaper than Euro) but it didn't fix the problem. I fitted a new ABS pickup ring (sourced from the same motor factor as the sensor) and it has fixed the problem. The old pickup ring had delaminated. Most of the time it IS the sensor that is the problem.

    • @mrix
      @mrix  Před rokem

      As you say on occasion it can be the pick up ring, fortunately for me it was simply the sensors which have been working great ever since this video creation.... all the best... mrix

I cleared the error code and this worked for approx. 15 miles then came back. OBD scan showed the other front left sensor now, and after another scan showed it back to the right sensor again. Any thoughts would be appreciated, considering changing out both sensors anyway or wondering if I’m overlooking the root cause. Thanks.

    • @mrix
      @mrix  Před 2 lety +2

      Hello I also found the warning would also reset for a time and then come back again, it did happen quite often, I did think it may of been simply a dirty sensor but having removed it from the hub and cleaned it there was no improvement, it tends to get worse over time with the error showing more frequent and staying on for longer, in the end for me it stayed on permanently so was time to get a New one fitted, I suspect this will happen with your sensor.... mrix

      Hello, yes you can still technically drive but some features that require the speed sensor to work like the ABS and cruise control will not work..... mrix

    Great vid but NEVER rely on the jack alone. At least slide the wheel under the car so if the jack collapses, and they do you wont die...

      It's most definitely not a safe jack and one you can trust, I am always very cautious when using it.... mrix

    Thanks for tour effort. Did gréat. Bought a 100 000 km w204, after 2000 km, this shut happened. Nevers happened on my french and japanese car or m'y skoda.
    Shame for such a quality brand. Never Mercedes agaib for me cause it's poor quality and expensive price tag

      Thanks for your feedback, I was quoted many hundreds for the garage to do the job and for me it was pretty much around the £100 in total doing the job myself... I am also a little disappointed in a car I thought was meant to be a quality brand.....mrix
