      Are you an evolved ape flesh suit 'robot' OR are you a trapped 'Soul/spirit deluded into thinking the material 'Game' Character is your REAL True Hypostatis?
      Flesh programming is what the Matrix develops through the Genital Drives each Moon cycle the flesh machines get their 'software' update.
      If you have trouble sleeping during a full moon, you may understand what I am conveying.

      Its sad that children are starving but its because of the general nature of this 'system' materially, in this world everything is split against itself and in continual self conflict.
      There is wealth because there is poverty vice versa
      There is Life because there is Death
      Everything exists as dual opposite and can be considered like 'archetypes' of material 'situations'.
      Its pointless worrying about what you have stated because its simply an extreme version of this dualistic archetype manifesting in that split situation.
      wasting time trying to fix a situation only creates new situations of the same state.
      Better to focus on getting out of this dualistic prison and realize there is nothing than can be long term done to 'help' those children and anyway IF they were souless entities they are just emotional 'traps' of distraction to the real issue at hand - Spiritual Salvation and exiting from the 'Prison' of matter entirely.

    • @robertjacobs3133
      @robertjacobs3133 Před 7 lety +4

      Once you have lost your capacity, 'potential' to observe things spiritually and through 'self - knowledge' and have absorbed an attribute archetype of 'distrust and confusion, fear' in your 'soul' related to the Unified 'Truth', then you will regenerate that situation endlessly in your daily 'life' which will in turn create a self destructive internalized cycle.
      The forth? the forth incarnation of the 'Matrix', in the 5th dimension... no thanks that is 'Hell' (2nd death). I have already left before that through the Unsplit Light of Christ the 'Vine'.
      Once they breed in you hostility and denial and mistrust to the Christ of the Gnostic texts then... the more you drift away the more you will 'see' your own total imprisonment as you would of self created your own imprisonment through the denial and refusal to be healed and let go of your Divisible 'Energy' nature of your soul.
      You brought it upon yourself through your inability to 'Trust' Spiritually your True Hypostatis of your 'Spirit', just as the architect himself in his refusal to 'trust' the one who sort to help him 'heal' but instead he stole and abused the help he was being offered for his own benefit and since then is angry at any soul that seeks to leave through the breach of narrow middle path.
      If this architect mindless one can convince you and coerce you to think there is no way out, then He has already won and owns your soul outright, because you embraced his fearful and confusing situations planned before you entered and believed what he was priming and projecting into your soul. HE would have pulled off the ultimate deception, 'made you FEAR and Mistrust actual SALVATION.
      Its like a stockholm syndrome prisoner FEARING the 'outside'. So raped and abused they 'FEAR' Safety and Salvation.... When a soul reaches this for long enough they will quicky die spiritually being cut off from the 'Vine'/Root of TRUTH... so very sad.
      In this situation the deceiver (architect of the matrix, in a mindless state conflicting against itself) would have won and you would lost (as shown by your loss of your spiritual 'sense', your 'Head' being severed forever).
      Just like Mayan ball game.
      The 'head'(spiritual nous) is severed.

Also, red is obviously about much more than just fruit, it's also about blood and dominance, also among other mammals. As per usual, the most simple explanation is most likely wrong.

    I think the attraction to red has to do with the early stages in the womb. Babies can see colour at about 6 months of development in the womb, and the only colour you could see from inside your mother's belly would be different shades of red. You would then relate it to fertility and maybe also safety.

  • @MyLuggage12345
    @MyLuggage12345 Před 7 lety +300

    I strongly doubt that "co-evolution with ripe fruit" is the reason men respond to red. The best proximal explanation for the male response to the color red on women is that color's association with arousal, fertility, and health (due to increased blood flow to those areas). JP mentions this later in the video, and these really are the reasonable explanations.
    A common evolutionary explanation for why we can see red at all (and many other colors) is so we can see ripe fruit, but even that is just a guess that certainly hasn't been proven (and is therefore still in contention). There are multiple reasons to see a full range of colors, and plants could've just as easily co-evolved with us to only ever have orange or blue ripe fruit, for example.
    So I take issue with the claim that a more ultimate explanation for the response has to do with ripe fruit. And to be clear, he isn't saying the attraction is LIKE fruit-ripeness, he's making an evolutionary psychology argument that we originally evolved red color vision TO SEE FRUIT, and therefore were already pre-programmed to be attracted to red.
    Also, the whole apple thing is a myth - Genesis never mentions an apple.
    Evolutionary psychology in general is mushy science (what happens when you multiply two soft sciences? - Macro/Deep evolution X human psychology = pretty much any conclusion you can dream up). This claim is an example of that - it's fun to muse about the possibilities, and JP is one of my favorite teachers of all time, but on this point I disagree.

      Michael Kelly I never imagined social science had so much to do with women's cosmetics. I wonder if this is why I dislike unnatural colors on a women's faces (purple,blue, etc). An unconscious signal something is wrong?

    • @stephenbarron2526
      @stephenbarron2526 Před 7 lety +51

      Michael Kelly you dont understand what he meant. He is not saying they are fruit. Or acting like fruit. The bloodfow is the reason. But the visual queing of a ready patner (blushing), is in principle the same as a fuit indicating its readiness o be taken.....

    • @MyLuggage12345
      @MyLuggage12345 Před 7 lety +8

      Black women still have red blood - not sure how they would flush any other color? It's probably not as noticeable, but it should still work fundamentally the same way.

    • @MyLuggage12345
      @MyLuggage12345 Před 7 lety +12

      Yeah I jumped to comment before watching the whole thing through - he does mention sexual arousal (and health, which is valid [along with youth]).
      Otherwise you are wrong, though. He isn't saying the attraction is LIKE fruit-ripeness, he's making an evolutionary psychology argument that we originally evolved color vision TO SEE FRUIT, and therefore were already pre-programmed to be attracted to red. It's this preference for red that makes the whole thing absurd - there are plenty of non-red fruits that we like. And the whole apple thing is a myth, anyway - Genesis never mentions an apple.
      Red as a sign of arousal, youth, and health are the best explanations, if a bit proximal. His story about red fruit is an attempt at an ultimate explanation... I'm just very skeptical of it. Evolutionary psychology in general is mushy science (what happens when you multiply two soft sciences? - Macro/Deep evolution X human psychology = pretty much any conclusion you can dream up)

    • @HyperNova137
      @HyperNova137 Před 7 lety +10

      Red has a built-in emotional association with urgency and speed; It's one of the fastest-moving (unless in a vacuum) and farthest traveling wavelengths of light, and in eastern mystic philosophies it relates to the root chakra, which parallels the base level of Mazlow's hierarchy of needs - mostly dealing with survival and the most urgent level of physical necessity. We tend to feel a bit quickened or alarmed by the sight of blood because it can be a warning of danger, as in the case of being attacked by a wild animal or a neighboring tribe or culture, or having an accident that requires urgent attention... Or it could be the blood of an animal that was just hunted and killed for food. Sex and reproduction are also important to survival on a more unconscious collective level, and anyone who has any experience with the ladies should know that they don't like men who hesitate too much to make a move or get something done.

    I think the red thing doesn't just come from recognising ripe fruit. It is also possible that it is wired to trigger our deep fight-or-flight instinct due to its association with the sight of blood, and this heightened fight-or-flight response at the color can be mentally focused into sexual arousal, fear, alertness, etc, depending on the context that we see the color

    From black and white, to red, then yellow, were the progression of the colors, if I recall correctly.
    Perhaps the link is biological, and that red elicits a more profound impact on perception because it has been the color we have had the biological relationship with, the longest?

    His tone would suggest he speaking about absolute truths... But these are only some very basic principles of evolutionary psychology (that are also kind of taken out of context). There is a lot of complexity and diversity in psychology and biology that this explanation does not even begin to cover. The universe is not a structured system. Nature is chaotic and can sometimes act completely irrationally (At least by our own logic). It is only our condition to assign meaning to things. And that meaning is usually influenced by our own biases.

      That was the thread i was looking for. People almost always take for granted what the person with high "social proof" has to say, even if he is a renomed psychologist, he can't know all the answers and in fact all of his views are very mainstream and very common, but he put it in a way that seems very impressive for some people. What he's saying is just his opinion based on some facts and science, but that doesn't change the fact that those are his views of the world, it may work for some, but every person must think by themselves, and most people here are either worshipping him or just trying to be funny.

    • @LeoNoirCP
      @LeoNoirCP Před 6 lety +1

      SlayeCohen yep. It frightens me a little. I can only speak for his comments concerning psychology (as I am university educated in both psychology and neuroscience), but without doubt, he has warped this science to better fit his opinion. I had actually never really heard of this guy until this video... and to be honest I was completely shocked to then find out how highly regarded he is.

    • @Lunsterful
      @Lunsterful Před 6 lety +2

      I disagree; while his brief explanations don't explain everything in precise detail - his explanations are still in line with evolutionary fact. Nature is chaotic but it does have structure, there is order, there are patterns, and with replicating systems that adapt to meet their environment, there is evolutionary design that will inevitably occur because self-replicating things survive longer than random things that fizzle out and therefore don't survive. It's just a logical consequence. Just think about it, in a random system, with enough time, replicating things will occur - and then they'll be around for a long time, longer than something that doesn't replicate. The universe is not a structured system? You've just eliminated the sciences. Come on man, think.

      Christ's true message was that we could all attain the same level of clarity about how things really are & meant to be. He performed "miracles", healing the sick for free, with herbs from NATURE. Teaching people self sustainability without profit, or permits. He saw through the conniving DECEIVERS & offered them salvation through belief in his teachings. The belief in God is as simple as the belief in Goodness, that there does indeed lie a difference between good & evil actions. That our personality (soul) is eternal & will rise again through reincarnation, & with enough life lessons learned, we too may choose to rise to heaven, breaking this eternal cycle of death & rebirth. The devil seeks to keep us deaf dumb & blind to evil. Achieving Christ consciousness allows one to pierce such illusory conditions, in sparking the light of divinity within oneself. Such is potentially within us all, as long as one does not fall pray to dogma & surface level reaction, bandwagon mentalities. The truth is self perpetuating, because it resonates within, propelling one to convey it. Love your neighbors, & your enemies, as yourself. Know thyself, love thyself. 1st within then without.. Balance the core of oneself, before assisting others. We never hear about Christ's spiritual training, as therein lies the rub that would utterly eviscerate all centralized authorities & institutions of CONTROL. Broaden your perspectives, indefinitely. They'll come easier to you in the next life, until you attain ascended mastery.

And where he healed people instantly from a distance. And when he raised a guy who had been dead for a few days. And when he told everyone he would be killed and would bodily rise from the dead a few days later of his own accord.
      Either read the whole thing in context or don't bother, is all I'm saying here. You can decide for yourself if you think mainline/orthodox Christianity is completely correct, but if you pick and choose to make your own personal Hindu Jesus, you're guaranteed to be wrong.

    If you don't get my joke, you have been living under a rock.

    Red = ripe fruit...I'm sure there's a connection, but red is also related to first, or root chakra dynamics, which is the deepest and most animalistic/instinctive part of our nature. Red sends a message that goes straight into the DNA and the secondary intention with this kind of advertising is to bypass the upper registry, where it could possibly get evaluated, sorted out and discarded in a different way...mentally, emotionally, etc. Red is also adjacent to and "supports" 2nd chakra dynamics...you guessed it - pleasure (and also 'pain').

      Are you trying to explain away evolution (something ancient) by using something that's much younger?

      Next time you comment, please put "chakra" at the very beginning so I know right away to stop reading. Thanks.

      I personally don't give much credence to "chakras" and the like BUT science does support the idea of there being different frequencies within the body. This goes all the way down to atomic level as described by the periodic table of elements. Our bodies are comprised by various types of energies affecting mass.
      Low frequencies are being observed to cause hallucinations of sorts when the sound resonates with the eye itself. Our nervous systems are NOT closed, grounded electrical systems but are subject to outside interference of sorts. Chemo treatments for cancer work in this same way, however it is not usually described like this. The chemo involves putting substances into the body that will give off specific types of energy (radiation) for the purpose of using that energy to kill cancer cells. We use energies in the form of iodine to assist with CT scans (also the use of specific types of energies interacting with our energies.)
      The terminology is different, the ideologies are different, but be very careful about throwing the baby out with the bath water. The concept of chakras might very well be just one way to try to describe existing phenomena already confirmed by science. The application of such observations might not be perfect but the underlying concepts could be spot on. How out meridians within the body? How about the way they correspond to the places where pressure points form UNIVERSALLY amongst people? Medicine knows precisely where to look for these "knots" or pressure points because they form consistently based on our physiology.
      If you have an issue with something that appears to be a pseudo-science or anti-science, FIRST ask "does science actually address this, and does it address it properly?" before dismissing what was said. Anybody can dismiss ideas based on their opinion of a topic, but that isn't science. Science is about looking for facts, not confirming opinions and catering towards prejudices.
      I don't believe it's coincidence that the root chakra is associated with red. And by the way, there is a difference between making an observation of CORRELATION and an observation of CAUSATION. One simply acknowledges a statistically significant, consistent relationship. The other uses greater observations to apply initial data and move beyond correlation to identifying a cause and effect relationship. It's ridiculously unscientific to shoot down a (very valid) point of asking about the CORRELATION between two seemingly similar concepts because you assume a correlation must automatically be about causation. No, no, lovelies. That is not science.
      The base chakra concept correlates with a great deal of symbolism deeply ingrained in humans that transcends cultures. Peterson touched on that concept in the video. Or perhaps you unnecessarily antagonistic, prejudiced individuals didn't pay attention to the lecture. Perhaps you aren't interested in finding truth, only in stroking your egos by finding validation for your preconceived notions so you can bash someone else over the head when they confront you with some well-needed cognitive dissonance. If you aren't interested in finding truth (which is precisely what you've already displayed, so coming back with "that's not what I was doing" is pointless) then don't you dare try to shoot down the ideas someone else brings to the table in order to connect existing knowledge with new concepts. You are the antithesis of science and need to take a seat.
      Let that sink in.
      The person asking about chakras was vastly more scientifically sound in their approach than you were. Their question is valid and fits very well within the context of this video. They are attempting to find truth. But you jump to ridicule.
      Copernicus is deeply disappointed in you.

      Well said. 👏
      I would also say that anyone who is even slightly a fan of Dr. Peterson's work and simultaneously dismissing mysticism/spiritual practices obviously hasn't watched much of his videos.
      Thinking Christians and open-minded atheists are becoming allies because of this man's work.
      It's a beautiful thing.

      Frequency is a fundamental property of a wave, which is described in great detail within physics, chemistry, and quantum mechanics. If you wish to use "chakras" to vaguely explain away the complexity of the universe with no scientific or mathematical basis, then fine. But try not to spread your misinformation to potential intellectuals who are seeking to familiarize themselves with the true nature of the universe.

    So many men misread and misunderstand eye contact. Eye contact from women really means nothing. Go sit for a while in a busy street or mall, situated so you can observe people as they approach each other. One thing you will notice is that some women, yes, even attractive women, will give eye contact to men who are either obviously too old or too plain and average for it to be reasonable to assume she is attracted, at least based on physical appearance.
    What about eye contact and smile? While this is a slightly stronger signal, once again the same observation made above applies. Women, attractive women, will indeed be observed making eye contact and smiling at men that clearly should not attract her on sight.
    Hence, it is clear most men are barking up the wrong tree in thinking that eye contact, or eye contact and a smile means that she is attracted and wants you to approach. Other signals must occur, such as multiple instances of eye contact and smiling, her moving into your vicinity and "hovering" (even briefly) nearby, etc.
