I remember the days when they would blame MM songs for teen suicides, but nobody stopped to consider that the teens might have already been suicidal, and MM songs saved lives by being relatable to them.
Tbh, The Nobodies was one of those songs for me..
I had it real hard and often i found solitude in Manson's music (and his wonderful interview in Bowling for Columbine, really was about the hardest time for me, so finding a person like Manson who didnt antagonise me but more felt like reaching out a hand and telling me its ok to an outsider ..

see MM when he turned 16. That was 23
years ago! Best concert ever! I'm 60 years old now. Still enjoy his music.
When people tell me Manson's music is bad I always point to this song. The music is great and the lyrics are profound and deep. Mechanical Animals is above and beyond my favorite album.
And yeah Manson writes his music; guy is a poet.
My mom used to throw away my Marilyn Manson CDs.
I had her listen to this song and told her it was by somebody else and she actually liked it. Probably like 10 years later I finally told her lol

Part of what makes MM great is that he usually sings songs about important issues that other people are afraid to talk about publicly.
That feeling when you listen to MM for more than 20 years and just look at the reaction of those who hear MM for the first time🙂👍
This is some pinnacle Manson right here. This album, Holywood, and Golden Age are the most refined eras of MM.

Mechanical Animals became my favorite album when it came out and I remember rocking that whole thing for years. Really love this song
Watching him from the beginning, I think he is the best theatrical and artistic musician. He is in his own class.
Try one of the hardest song from him, The Reflecting God . It's just raw and awesome.

His old stuff is great, but I’d recommend the song Mephistopheles of Los Angeles. It might be one of his deepest songs he’s ever made, plus it shows how he’s grown as an artist and how he sounds now

Mechanical animals is my fave MM album and his best personally, feint to back to amazing, remember getting it as a kid and thinking that then and still do to this day.

The whole album Mechanical Animals that this track is from is great. The album Holy Wood that came out after is also a great album from start to finish. Everything after that has been a mixed bag. I personally didn't care for his most recent album but Portrait of an American Family to Holy Wood... those were the days.

This song hit me hard because when I was a kid, doctors had me drugged 24/7 and I felt like a zombie, numb and dumb. They kept giving me pills to change who I was but they couldn't experience how it felt for me, it wasn't until I emancipated that I could make it stop. I think it reaches out to more than those with drug addictions or low self esteem but also people who've been told pills would make them a better person by their doctors and fell down that pharmaceutical rabbit hole.

Ps... I could watch the trash talkers all day. They remind me of back when I first heard the music they are now getting into. Smokey and Hollywood 6 have great taste in music. With them it's like hanging out with your buddies listening to music and feeling the vibe. Keep up the great work guys.

If you can't take this song n somehow relate, I don't think theres hope for you. This song takes a situation in history n sheds light but not from the male prospective but a females but at the same time this song & the lyrics can be applied to any sex and any difficult situation. This is 1 of my favs from my most fav artist. There will never be another like mason or even close. I feel so incredibly honored to be from a time he was to. He's impactede in one way or another for the majority of my life. Love him beyond words n levels of respect n aspects.

You might've heard/read about this before, but Manson's 2nd, 3rd and 4th are a tryptich about becoming a star, being a star and the aftermath/fall from grace. This song is off of the middle album and quite accurately describes how a lot of people make it through jobs in film, music, the fashion industry etc.
It's so hard to explain to people who are just afraid of Manson that, many of his songs are pretty catchy, and it's not all devil worship, bondage, and drugs. I love every album he's done. And it evolves as he gets older, some folks complain about artists changing, but he's not in his 20's, he needs to relax. I think he's done a great job staying relevant and putting out good music.

Amazing choice. My favorite MM song ever. Besides Manson, you should also revisit NINE INCH NAILS, and pay some attention to SKINNY PUPPY. Skinny Puppy is a huge influence on both. Check out the Spasmolytic video, Worlock, Dig It (and compare it to NIN's Down In It), Smothered Hope and Testure.
