- Here is a fan noise test I made playing Uncharted 4, will film another shortly, as the ambient noise (too much gain) is a bit annoying in the background.

Thank you. A lot of videos of the "PS4 Pro Fan Noise" are of people simply commenting on how it's allegedly quiet instead of actually showing the console running. When it was revealed, the large size led me to believe that we'd be dealing with a very hot, loud console. That doesn't seem to be the case, at least not yet - I'd definitely be interested in you doing a follow-up video after you've owned the console for ~6 months.
Absolutely, subscribe to both my channels (my other is Maxwell Inc Studios). I am going to keep posting lots of stuff for a long time to come (not just gaming videos, some other cool stuff too). Also I was going to say none of the game discs are ever warm when I pull them from the console, meaning it has good cooling internally. I am very impressed with what's been done with it.

I wonder if I should sell my current PS4 and upgrade. I mean I'm probably going to have to eventually because devs will need extra power. Also my PS4 is pretty loud but that's because of my setup. It's close to my desk where I sit. This seems much more quiet
Thanks for this. It pick up around 2 minutes in. Certainly it is noticeable. Shame that they did not put a bigger slower moving fan in there. It is preferable to that Xbox S clicking.
Still not sure whether to get this or the Slim. Fan noise drives me crazy. I hope you do a second video with less gain. Just try and make the recording as raw as possible.

I have Slim and the fan ramp is pretty similar to this video on demanding titles. But is ultra silent on idle and streaming.
I am going to use an external recorder and mic with headphones (it will be the best quality I can capture, and know the sound I am getting). I might do it tonight, I want to make a follow up video still.
Glad to know, haven't had a chance to hear a slim run. I know this console seemed more quiet than my original ps4. Agreed it is ultra silent on any streaming or in the menu idle. Thanks for watching!
Bob UK if u want a quiet ps4 and dont really need the 4k stuff just get the slim. I switched from original ps4 to the ps4 slim and it makes almost no noise at all
Agreed with you. That fan noise drive me crazy as well. It not the fan noise itself that the problem for me. It's the level of noise. When i play for example uncharted 4, the fan starts low and then higher and higher. And then lower and lower.
That happens very often anyhow game i play. I asked one i know if the same happend to he's pro, and it did.
Hope it's not factory failure that cause it.
in some games my pro fan fluctuate alot it keep changing speeds is that normal like it sounds like up and down

My Pro is ridiculously loud no matter what I’m playing. Even with a headset on it’s very noticeable. I’m considering just getting a PS4 Slim, but I don’t know if it would be any different.

Mine makes the same noise after hours of play, it is pretty quiet but it does occasionally make a clicking noise (it's brand new) which sort of worries me but goes away when the fan speed dies down a bit. Moving the console a little seems to stop the clicking noise - Don't know if I should contact Sony about this.
To me this seems coil whine, i have too and only on enhanced games. Maybe check if the click noise show up on certain games. However mine is not determined by case movements
Sounds substantionally a lot quiter than the original PS4 and also wanted too ask how does Uncharted Look If you do have a 4K HDR TV? Is it running close too 4K or Native 2160p?
Is the cuh 7105 model better than 7115 or 7215 ?
In my country here just sold 7105 model lol...
The fan on mine goes up and down in noise, It's usually louder when i pause certain games like battlefield 1 or last of us which i find strange
Same here.. Curious after a year of use. With more dust build up inside.
on games that aren't pro patched the fan seems fine then, I'm guessing future games the fan will be even louder

Mine runs hot and noisy too, maybe i have it inside a TV cabinet where there isn't any opening at the back for air to escape, do you think i should have it in the open?
I think its worth a try, and would be better in long run if you plan to run for extended periods.

Joeki11a any hdmi cable that says high speed is good for 4k don't listen to people when they say you need 2.0 hdmi and pay for it cause most hdmi cables that were made from 2011 and up will work for 4k it's the input on the console and tv that needs to be 2.0 which can be fixed with an update

+Lion 7 Slim is quietest but not so much, it can reach some obnoxious level of noise on some games. It will never be a real quiet PS4 this gen.
Omega Kid Music I've had the slim version for 3 months now and after tons of games I can say: the slim NEVER gets loud.
Fucks he on about? The fan is so much louder on the pro than my original ps4. I know its a more powerful system but it sounds like its about to take off when playing games!!

My PS4 Pro has a horrible vibrating sound which goes away if I press on the top cover. Seems as if I got a bad fan and bad plastic casing since it vibrates. This is with SSD and without a disc inside. Anyone has the same experience?

Mine does the same thing too, I have it on the vertical stand. When i lift it in my hands the noise stops. Really irritating.

Since i purchased a PlayStation 4 original was a lot of problems after first year fan sounding very loud it sounded like a jet plane eventualy disc drive stoped reading disc.s after been miss informed by currys staff a media dvd cleaner should clean lens without any problems the disc scratched lens unfortunately warranty was void due to sending to a dodgy company called elite phones and computers was returned back stickers removed one of elites own stickers was slapped on the bck when i checked was working no disc drive was grinding fan was still loud i took to a pc computer store in my area cost of €50 heat sink clean repaste a cd was found in disc drive cd was sticky what elite jammed in the slot eventualy was readeing discs again fan was still noisy after a mth disc drive had problems again eventualy only alturnative was youtubers videos learnt how to remove lens was replaced learnt how to repaste to my amazzment wasnt repasted properly by pc store after been scammed for moneys only lejit site was ebay where i could purchase thermal compound thermal prepare i polished heat sink fan was already clean i repasted useing mx2 thermal paste when finished was readeing discs lot faster than expected was whisper quiet was like new when first purchased i moved ps4 under cabenet no board behind cabenet makeing sure was gaps iver side after another yr was still working like new eventualy give away free to one of my family and purchased a ps4 pro havnt had no regrets since
