I hate how popular iPhones are. yes they're good, but there are better products for less money. I don't mind if you use it, but my god I hate people (my entire school) boasting about how their shiny new iPhones are better than everything "just because they are". blech.
Lol go look at a bench test dude, the iPhone 7 is better in many respects. It may be more money, but as many people have pointed out, you're paying for a tried and true operating system that simplifies and boosts the efficiency of the time you spend on your phone. That's what iOS has always been about.
I feel you, Apple have this stupid approach saying they're better than everyone else and people actually fall for it and pay money, which is exactly what Apple wants. I love stock Android and can't ever imagine myself going back to iOS - or should I say PotatoOS - can't wait for the next Nexus.. Oh it's called Pixel now.
ErnakTheHun of course it will bench better, it's a far newer device. And I agree that iOS is unparalleled with the "it just works" experience, but after using an operating system for a while you get use to it alot will want more, which android has in spades. Not to mention but stock android has come a long way and has also become a very simple and smooth experience.

While, I agree with you. I also think Samsung products are overrated. I would rather go for HTC, nexus and Sony than Samsung.
Amoled screen, fast wireless charing, fast auto focus camera, and the 32gb expandable storage is a good enough reason NOT to buy an iPhone 7.
I only agree with one of these reasons (fast focusing camera), the rest I don't care about, except for the amoled one, believe me or not, I prefer IPS LCD. However iOS is easily the biggest flaw of the iPhone, and imo a dealbreaker, not to talk about the price!
I guess you're not going to buy the new year's iPhone 8 when they have an amoled screen next year on their 10 year anniversary.

But really, no one (not even the applications) use that much speed in day to day usage...Even Apple is switching to AMOLED displays in 2017(manufactured by Samsung). And I get bored seeing the same screen throughout (Dunno about other iPhone users) Android can be customised to a hell lotta ways that one can even think of..

ios is the only thing really compelling about the iPhone... Apple has been surpassed in design years ago by the likes of Huawei, HTC, LG and Samsung. The new iPhone 7 takes 2 hrs and 46 minutes to top up with the included in box charger...seriously? I don't understand how a such an allegedly meticulously crafted device could overlook something as simple as the time it takes to top up your battery. No new focusing tech either. Why didn't Apple use a hybrid focusing system (laser system) for lower lighting conditions. The 7 plus could've easily incorporated this into its sensor array.
To me the only compelling things are the speakers.

The speakers, the app ecosystem, and the the available memory sizes are the things that Apple excels at on the iPhone 7. Yes, you can expand storage on the S7, but that SD cardis a fraction of the speed of the NVMe controller on the iPhone.
If Samsung offered a 128GB model of the S7, I would have gotten that. Instead, I had to get the iPhone 7 because it is the only premium option on the market with that size storage onboard.
A card that can read and write @90 mbps should be sufficient unless you're doing something that's so beyond the norm.

iOS is the only good thing about the iPhone, you have a level of optimization you still can't find on android, I've been using an S6 for the past year and I don't know if it's samsung's fault but I feel that iOS is more reliable, android is for freedom but people just want a phone that works, that's where the iPhone shines

Samsung's problem is that once they release a new flagship, the previous one is neglected, and they only do the minimum to their "legacy" devices, such as security updates and mandatory 18 months support of android os set by google.
mcool93 I think that all OEMs do a terrible job with updates, specially Samsung. my S6 has received the security updates but let's see what happens with Nougat, I'm not expecting anything before April 2017, that was actually when marshmallow arrived so maybe I'm too optimistic

As much as us Android fans think its a no brainer to go Android instead of IOS there has to be something with IOS that keeps these folks buying it & defending it on these comment post! Now were all adults here and its no lie Apple did sell the same phone for 3 years straight its 2016 and they still have no fast/wireless charging still a 720p screen and even with the few upgrades to the camera it still cant beat the Galaxy S7 and the topper on the cake they took away the headphone jack for one reason only to help with Beats bluetooth/wireless headphones to sell better plus if you want to charge your phone well listening to music you need another adapter!! So now even with knowing all that Apple fans will still talk shit defend Apple and say the have the better phone and they wonder why Android fans think there fucken nuts!!! Now like me or hate me make fun of my grammer or this or that but I dare anyone to call me a liar or prove me wrong!!
I've used both and used to own an S7 but I like my iPhone 7 Plus more. It's so much faster and the screen in my opinion is so much better. It's not worth it to argue over a phone. People have opinions and preferences and need to figure out which one they like best.

People's iPhone 4 iPhones are still working? Just fine and let's say the charger port no longer works you get it fixed. Just like any other phone if the charger port goes out your phone is screwed. Not just apple. People will adapt. No one is forced to buy the phone if you don't like it. Don't buy it don't complain about it if your not going to buy it. I am an apple supported and no I don't just buy because it's iPhone Honestly I was considering going to a s7 but I wanted to give this phone a chance since I use the headphone jack for everything but my phone came with an adapter. It works. I hardly use it anyways. It's my opinion not everyone has to like this phone.
Both these phones are incredible. You really cannot go wrong with either.

the percentage in battery usage is not a real indicator. I think it would much easier for the users if you can share how long each phone lasted between your hand before you head towards the charger.

The Lumia 920 (which was the first smartphone to come with OIS too) was doing it. And it is a 2012 phone. Two years ago, Nokia launched the first smartphone to simulate a Dolby 5.1 Recording. Ummm... by your own admissions in the video: the S7 has a better battery, camera, display, more water resistant and includes a headphone jack. Don't beat around the bush, we all know the Samsung is better.
Why is it only a slight edge to Samsung, they won in every important category! And the iPhone is so old and played out now, it couldn't possibly be more boring unless they stopped doing new designs and just stuck with the most boring design they've ever had, the iPhone 6... oh wait, they did.
Will creating an easy to install and stable iOS operating system for the Galaxy S7 be worth while? Wouldn't that be the ultimate phone for iPhone users? As for me, I prefer Android only because of my phone needs.
I really don't care about how iPhone 7 is faster than any phone. Seriously i have never felt my iphone 6s slow ever but it's already the fastest phone available on the market. Having another iphone beating 6s in speed is not necessary in terms of the price at $1000. I would rather spend that much money on different phone which has better innovation and features. Since Apple is unwilling to make big change until next year, i think the people should definitely either buy an android phone or stick with iPhone 6s. Apple's laziness in innovation should not rewarded.
Granted, this almost goes without saying, but it really depends on what ecosystem you're already in. I've been an iOS user since 2009 and, when trying an S6 Edge, I gave it up within two months and jumped back to an iPhone. In the end, while these comparisons are fun, they really miss the bigger point since only a small number of folks (year to year) will give up their iPhone or Android and jump to the other OS.

This S7 Galaxy has been calling my name but I'm afraid I won't understand the android system. That S7 Samsung is so beautiful and clean looking in person. So tempting. i have galaxy s7 and being a heavy user it just manages to stay a whole day on a single charge which is very good compared to the iPhone 7..hope it helped

Tested out the iPhone 7 in store only to find out that the "taptic" home button is absolutely horrible. They should just remove it altogether as it's *no where* as good as the force touch trackpad on my rMBP.
Seriously guys, make and informed decision and go test the phones out yourselves. Don't do it for the status quo.

I've run into soo many issues with my iPhone as of late, and I would choose an Android phone over and over. I despise the way Apple runs iOS! There is little freedom or choice. I just spent $700 on a device to be told how I can and can't use it.
I have a bug on my iPhone and I can't even update or download apps, because Apple claims my credit card is not updated and then they say it's declined. I call my bank and they say the issue is not on their end. So I have to wait for Apple to resolve the issue. I don't know why I would need to put in my credit card information for a free app in the first place! Let alone to update an app! Out of the box, Android and iOS is great! But to make the phones work to my liking, there's only one choice! And that's Android. I've given Apple a chance. But this was the last straw.

I can only change or add a payment method. There is no option to choose "no billing information" or to delete the one I already have. You should know what you're talking about before you speak. I know iOS and Apple well.
And by freedom of choice! I mean when I click on links, I want it to open in the chrome browser, not safari. I want to choose my own default apps, I want to place the icons where I want on the display. I use Google's keyboard on my iPhone simply because it's just better than the one Apple provides and there are instances where I need to login to an account or type and the Apple keyboard completely overrides the Google Keyboard. I could go on and on....

rainbowevil But I'm not. The ONLY reason Android as a whole isn't as secure as iOS, is because of fragmentation. Otherwise, Googles stock version of Android(with its monthly security updates, Knox and encryption) is just as secure. I can't speak for other OEMs who chose to muck up the software.
Otherwise, any talented hacker can easily troll both platforms! Just a couple weeks ago, a hacker got a disguised app into the app store that allowed users to jailbreak their phones. Lol it was pretty funny and got shut down quick because CZcamsrs started uploading videos about it.

The one thing you don't mention is the OS. You simply say it's down to a preference between iOS and Android. But that's half the story. Because of Touchwiz. No matter how much Samsung keep 'improving' their skin, it will always mean delayed Android updates, duplication of stock apps, and increased potential for lag and performance slowdown over time. Despite the iPhone's shortcomings, you know that iOS updates will hit immediately upon release and the phones will last longer as usable devices.
Now if the Galaxy S7 had stock Android, it would trounce the iPhone 7 completely.

If Samsung were too make their operating system look nice and more optimized and less laggy they would get way more customers ....
I pick iPhone 7. I have the matte black and what I love about iPhones are simplicity, amazing processing power (doesn't crash or freeze all the time like all android phones), and synchronization with other apple Apps. Samsung users I know for a fact are jealous of iMessage and FaceTime capabilities too.
I don't like copycats so, no Samsung or Android for me. I still remember a comment a coworker made in the early days of iPhone (2007). An enthusiastic conversation about Apple's new device came up and this person, pointing to his cheap Samsung Whatever, shrugged and exclaimed: "I already have an IPHONE!".
