    Good tip about getting the marker going first before applying to the wood. I had tried wood burning once and I think this is where I went wrong.

    Really enjoyed this video and picked up new tips that gives a better finished item. Mostly that you need regular computer to use knife blade. Since I use an iPad you saved me the extra trip and cost of wood that I can't use at this point. But, I also like the two coats- dry- repeat and also the sealing info for the bigger pieces that I can do. Thank you again.

    Thank you so much for making this video I’ve learnt so much. I would like to make small square wood tags and I’m wondering how thick the Cricut Basswood is and if that’s the thickest wood you could use as im worried about the wood bending. I’m also wondering if I use a hot glue gun to stick the basswood to my chosen surface if the glue will come through the wood and stain it?

    • @AngieHolden
      @AngieHolden  Před 6 měsíci

      You can make wood tags but I would not make them very intricate or they can break. The glue shouldn't come through however.

    Have you ever tried Torch Paste? I like it. It's a bit expensive, but a little goes a very long way.
    Also, just a hint, if you flip your cricut cut wood piece over, you can see better where it still needs to be cut.

    Nice video, I had to try this today. I put some text on a pine blank but the results look like somebody used a magic marker and wrote on the wood. Did you get the same results or did I do something wrong? thanx for the info,

    • @AngieHolden

      It definitely is an effect that is on top of the wood and not down in to it.

    Angie, THANK YOU for showing us how to make a stencil using the Cricut Explore Air 2 machine. This is the machine I have, and love. I have seen some awesome craft ideas I wanted to make but they can only be made on either Maker or Maker 3, which I don't have, [saving up for Maker 3] so was really disappointed I couldn't make them...or so I thought! Question: Would it be ok to paint a background on after burning the design on, and then sealing, or do I seal the wood first then paint. Sorry.

  • @lauramartin7300
    @lauramartin7300 Před rokem

    Love your videos!! It was because of you I got my maker. Question, can you use a heat gun that you use for embossing on cards? Or does it have to be one like for stripping paint? Thanks for Sharing and ALL you do.

    Angie do you know what causes it to almost bleed black horizontally?

    • @AngieHolden
      @AngieHolden  Před rokem

      Usually a poor quality wood or rough surface. It is the marker bleeding out along the lines in the wood. You can try sanding with like 1200 grit sandpaper a few times. Clean well and then burn. Or skip that type of wood altogether.

    @angieHolden Great tutorial, as usual, thank you. I do have a question though; this past week I have been trying to make a design out of basswood and every time it is messed up. Either the blade tip breaks off (twice) or the wood gets chipped. What am I doing wrong? Please help! 🙏
