I’ve been selling crafts for over 30 years and have been quite successful at it. I mostly make fabric covered photo albums and mostly wedding and baby. Done it all, craft shows, boutiques, online, etc. a big consideration too is space in your home. When you decide what to make to sell, how much space do you have to make the product, store supplies ( both product supplies as well as packaging supplies) and space to store the finished product. You don’t want to make large items if the total space your operating out of is say only a spare bedroom. Also, how messy is the product? If your working in a room like a spare bedroom, you don’t want to be making messy things like wreaths, dried flowers or stuff that needs sanding, painting, etc or involve a lot of noise or obnoxious fumes. Finally, be prepared to shift what you make to what the public wants if you repeatedly get requests to do custom orders for something your not making but fits into the realm of what you do, so keep tight control over how much supplies you buy until your hitting the mark with your customers. You don’t want to end up with a lot of supplies you can’t use thats taking up valuable space and is money wasted. Save packing supplies that come with your purchases and reuse them, it’s free. The postal service also has free shipping boxes available if your product will fit in them.
I think it’s fantastic that you answer the comments back, especially if someone had a question. Sometimes when someone is just starting out you don’t know where to go for answers. So thank you for being generous with your time. And I love your tutorials. Very insightful and definitely helpful.
Thanks so much for the comment!
I’ve been crafting and selling for a long time but tomorrow I’m doing my very first craft fair, nervous and excited at the same time!
Good luck. Having a very expensive item that makes the rest look good value can work.
Good luck!! You can do it!
Hi Carrie, My daughter is an artist and does watercolor pet portraits. We started selling at craft fairs, farmer's markets, and dog shows about a year ago and it has been a wonderful journey of learning. Two pieces of advice I'd like to share. One, check out the other venders to see their setups. You can learn a lot from others who have been doing craft fairs for a while. Second, check out Hans Meier 3 part video series on CZcams. He teaches the ins and outs of selling at craft fairs with many helpful hints. He is a long time woodworker and has gained a lot of knowledge throughout the years. I learned much from watching this video that I have applied to my daughter and my booth and it has really helped us in sales. Good luck
I hope it went well that’s awesome!
I’m new to Cricut. I bought a Cricut Maker 3 last year and am so overwhelmed with everything it can do, I don’t know where to start! I have recently found your channel and am truly grateful for all the information you provide. Thank you for taking the time to explain all the different areas of Cricut with your brilliant videos xXx
Awww! Gift baskets! Yes!!! What a great way to use a variety of the projects you listed. Thanks for the inspiration. 💞
Thank you Angie for all the great information you give and all you do. Very informative, helpful and gives me inspiration.
Angie, I just love how much detail you give to us. I love, love your personality! Have a good rest of your weekend.
Thank you! You too!
Thanks for the great advice and information Angie!
Thx I’ll rewatch to get it all. I think you are correct about one thing (all are good, don’t get me wrong) but you hit the nail on the head Find what you are compassion about! Thank you! I will
I love the gift basket idea.
Thank you so much for sharing this video! You are the perfect teacher. 🌻🌻🌻
Wow, thank you!
I'm located in TN and new to the crafting market scene. It is incredibly overwhelming!
Great information! Really enjoy your channel!
Clear, practical advice. Thank you!
You're welcome!
This was so informative…I’m going to move forward with these things….
Great video! Thank you xx
I am doing my “first” craft show next month, and one thing I’ve learned, my area in small town Tennessee, folks don’t like to pay much for items. I was a macrame/weaving artist long before I started with “cricut” items, and I sold well in S. Florida, but those items never sold well here in TN, so, I’m hoping the cricut made items sell better! I appreciate all the pointers and knowledge I’ve learned from you. ❤
I completely agree with you (also small town east tn) Flat out got told that $10 was too much for a stitch tumbler... like the tumbler alone was $6 make it yourself then :/
Thank you Angie. Great video 💖
Thanks for watching!
Great video
Another great video from Angie ❤❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank You!
Great ideas thanks Angie
Glad you like them!
Love your hair down... the colour is Amazing
Your hair looks Awesome!!!
Thanks. Great video!
Glad you liked it!
Thank you so much ❤️
Thanks I love your channel and I have preordered your book I've had by business for a few years now but trying to branch out just this year I got a cricut maker 3 and a mug press so started making mugs I attend craft fairs and have a website selling my stuff not making much from doing it yet I hope it will improve ....i have no other job as I also care for my adult autistic daughter full time and also suffer with depression and anxiety myself and find it hard to even leave the house so I do this to keep me going every day
Thank you so much for watching and your comment!
Awesome Class
Glad you think so!
Can you do a video about the gift baskets?
🥰👍 i really appreciate your work
My pleasure 😊
I be would like to learn more about making signs
Hi Angie, I love your post i get everyday. I would like to know if you make the signs that is so popular, if not couldyou make a tutorial on making them. Thank you. Jackie Jarboe
I have several sign tutorials. Not sure which you are looking for.
great video good ideals
Glad you like them!
@@AngieHolden you are welcome honey
Do you have a recommendation on where to get baskets? And a video on how to wrap them?
Sorry I do not.
Hi there, thank you so much for this video. I was wondering where the video is of the large welcome sign you printed that’s showed in this video? I’m just doing a Welcome Sign for my wedding at the moment and it may be a huge help. Thank you!

Hi, Thank you for a great video! I bought a Cricut as well as additional accessories last year and it is still in the box... I purchased for cutting pattern pieces on fabric. I know that there are so many things to do with a Cricut but maybe that's my problem. I am overwhelmed. Is there a video you might suggest for the beginner - beginner - baby steps? I clearly have fear and anxiety of unfamiliar technology. Thanks!

Do you have an example gift basket you can show? Thank you for this video.
I added this project with several others into one for an online auction. It was "tailgate" themed but it may give you ideas! czcams.com/video/jEbRzmPeeKo/video.html
Angie, Thanks for all the ideas. Can u please tell me how you made the dome or rainbow on the shirt that says be kind. Can I get that on design space? I have ideas but I need to know how to make that dome. Thank you
I think that was just a design in Design Space.
love yours videos! a question , do you have issues when you print a pattern and get white lines between the tiles , i have a grando large format printer and use illustrator then export it in jpg and sometimes i have that problem. (have a rip program , RIMM) thanks!
My guess would be your printer settings. Turn high quality on, high speed or bidirectional off, and pick a matte paper setting.
Hi Angie, I always love how informative and thorough you are with your videos. I converted an Epson Eco Tank ET-3760. I recently updated the firmware and am now having sublimation color issues. I uninstalled the printer and re-installed it and finally got the printer to work. I am still having color issues. Do you have any suggestions? I cannot call Epson because the warranty is not validated since I use sublimation ink.
Thank you. Sincerely, Brenda Solomon
I never update my firmware because of this. I think you will just have to start over with color correction and ICC profiles and try to find a combination that works well for you.
@@AngieHolden Thank you for replying so quickly. My printer asked if I wanted to update and I said yes. Never in a million years would I have thought this would screw up my printer. I will look online for ICC profiles and hope this helps. Just before the holidays is not what I needed.
Thank you, Sincerely, Brenda Solomon
Very sound advice.. Always do some market research before hand.. What you absolutely love making may not have a market. I would say if you're not an artist or are not designing your own artwork also factor in the cost of buying graphics.. No to screenshotting just anything off the internet. A subscription to a good graphics' site which includes a commercial licence with your purchases will repay you in quality, variety and is less hassle than fighting a copyright battle!! Also quality quality quality.. No inky blobs or glue spots.. Certainly if the product just has a small flaw you can sell as seconds but that's not what you want to be known for!!!
Great advice!
I was thinking of getting into cake toppers and cake charms and selling online. I noticed you didn’t list that, but do you think that would be a good business? I actually have a cake business and purchased a Cricut Maker so I can make my own toppers, so I thought it might compliment what I already do. Thanks!
Item #6 is party items
Definitely! Those fall under party items for me. But cake toppers do really well!
Making Wearables to sell do you still prefer HTV or infusible ink? Maybe that comparing apples and oranges. I seen both wondering if it better to invest in one or other? Thanks for input!
Gosh. Just depends on what you are making. If you can get away with polyester, I prefer Infusible Ink or sublimation. On cotton, HTV or screen printing!
Angie, Do you have any videos or advice for camera and lighting for still pictures. You probably do - i just can't find it - yet !!
I do not! It is in Crafting for Profit Camp if you want to join: heyletsmakestuff.lpages.co/crafting-for-profit-camp-free-ticket/
All good ideas. I am currently making holiday gifts for my family, but also making extras at the same time. The extras will most likely get sold. I still work full time, but getting close to retirement. Looking to slowly get into something to keep me busy after retirement. Not sure which venue to use to sell. Any suggestions? I only plan on doing limited amounts of anything that I make......basically 1st come, first serve. I will not be doing custom work. Too many problems in that area.
For limited amounts, often just selling on Facebook or Instagram to family/friends/local people works!
You go girl!
By any chance do you have any of your fun ideas for the Joy?
I have a ton of Joy content and I also say in the videos if a project can be made on any Cricut machine or if there are restrictions.
I'm bummed when i found out that I can't use regular mugs in the press. I'd definitely buy it
They do have to be for sublimation.
Would love for you to make a video on using DTF powder and sublimation.
I am researching the safety of this method. I am not sure if it is a safe process.
@@AngieHolden Ok great, I ordered the powder, but havent used it yet, so I would love to know your thoughts on this. I can still return it if I am not going to use this. Thanks.
Hello! I’m not sure what this is called so here is the time stamp 6:28 - what is this called and what do you use it for?
My guess is you are looking at the screen and squeegee? You can see more here: czcams.com/video/swUa26489Uo/video.html
Is the ciricut maker really that different to the ciricut explore? I’ve done a compare online and all I can see is that you get a few extra materials. TIA
Actually I’ve just found your other video explaining all good I’m jumping over there to watch it! 👍
Glad you found it! Let me know if you have any other questions!
What are your thoughts about taking your press and Cricut to Craft fairs to sell personalized items?
I have seen people do that! Definitely could work!
Hey Angie can I engrave onto wood with my cricut machine. I write alot of poems and would like to engrave them onto wooden plaques.
I would do it like this: czcams.com/video/jEbRzmPeeKo/video.html
Hey Angie, need help. How do I remove the box around my images that I hv removed background, the center box but the outer box stays when I need the image cut instead of the box? I'm ready to scream.. ok I did scream but how do I get it off?
You need to remove the background when uploading. You can use the selection tool to pick the areas you don't want.
I love to try to make stickers, but everytime I try the sheets either come through blank or they are to high. Can you help me?
That would be the feed of your printer. I would try a different sticker paper brand as it sounds like that one is not working right with your printer.
At 12:04 can you let me know name of font or where to buy font? Thanks!
That was a design in Cricut Design Space so I am not sure.
Got it, thanks!
hi I was wondering if I need a state permit to sell online ?
Everything in relation to laws varies from state to state so I would check with someone local to you.
Is bad if I do all these? I actually started incorporating stuff into gift baskets.
I love the gift basket idea personally! And not bad at all!
@@AngieHolden yes
I have been making baskets before I had a Cricut, the Cricut just added more options to it. 😊
Can you screen print on wood?
Yep you can! Check out Pigskins and Pigtails. She will have a video about it I am sure!
@@AngieHolden thank you SO much!
How many cards can you cut with one Cricut Joy Blade? ... I have done about 6 cards ... and the blade is tearing and Destroying the cardstock, not cutting cleanly. The machine was an early Christmas present, and I am getting so despondent at how I am battling to make a successful card.
That is more than likely your mat and not your blade. Blades last a really long time. Try using a brayer to press your card down onto the mat and get it stuck better.
@@AngieHolden - thanks. The card mat is a new one too. ... does this mean I can only do 1 or two cards, and need to replace the mat? Ouch, that would work out really expensive.
You do NOT need to replace the mat. Just press your card down better. A brayer is a good investment to make your mats last as long as possible.
Help help please I can even work this Cricut machine
Try this: czcams.com/video/gn8tmXezWT8/video.html
And then remember that after you have made 500 of pretty much anything …. you will never want to see them again… 🤪🤣😂😅
YUP! My Etsy shop was for wedding items when I started. I know that feeling all too well!
The video actually gets into the 10 things to make after 6 minutes of talking about something else
Thank you so much for your kind comment.
