    A nice way to disconnect your engine harness from the car in a engine removal situation, would be to mount a multipin connector to your firewall. Takes a bit of time to complete the male and female sides of the connector, but once its done, the engine comes in and out lickity split.

    • @dugganracecraft
      @dugganracecraft  Před 9 měsíci

      I'm actually in the process of doing that now! It's going to be very labor intensive but it'll definitely be worth it. I'm going to use a 72 pin deutsche connector bulkhead.

    Glad to see it coming along and thanks for sharing. Doers are the ones who want to see HOW you are doing this. Most people aren't doers. That being said, your skill-set is way beyond what I am willing to attempt right now. hahaha I sadly sold my King Cobra last month. It was in good shape and I had it running well, so to take it all apart didn't make sense. My next project might be a Coyote based vehicle. Looking forward to your next update.

      Unfortunately, that’s the truth. Most people would rather pay someone to do this and pick it up once it’s done. I appreciate the compliment but I try to stay modest about it lol. We all start somewhere and I f**ked up a lot stuff to learn everything that I know today!

      @@dugganracecraft sweet man, damnit I can't wait to hear this thing and see it in action, i put a ignition box in mine yesterday and I ordered a Ford racing aluminum driveshaft and it should be here this week so im getting really close to being able to take it to the track and see what it will do, Ive still got to get some better valve springs because it put out 422 to the wheels which is pretty awesome but that was only at 5700 rpm and the cam is supposed to make power up to 6500 before falling off but ill do it without having to pull the heads, so i should be able to get some more ponies to the tire, I kinda cheaped out on the springs even though I was worried about them the whole time, but they were supposed to be the equivalent to the correct springs for the cam but the dyno said "nope they're junk 🤣😂🤣 that's what happens when you try to save a buck 🤦‍♂️ but hey that's good because I know now that there's more left at the table for it to eat and me to enjoy 😂🤣😂

      @@dugganracecraft yeah I can imagine it was amazing because it is going to be super fast and its going to be just as amazing if not more when it becomes a reality. It's just going to be stupid crazy fast, just think that motor will pretty much run 10s in a phat stock 4,000lb car then you take 1500lbs off of it and see how fast it will go , yeah its going to be gnarly and that is stock trim , you're going with headers and other mods with a wild tune. Yeah what all social media do you have? I can make a running clip of it and send it to you . Your brother has a fast foxbody as well beating alot of modern fast stuff with it N/A. • @dugganracecraft
      @dugganracecraft  Před 2 lety +1

      It'll end up being heavier than I think in the end probably. About 3,000 to 3,300 pounds when it's finished if I had to guess. The coyote is much lighter than an iron SBF but the 6r80 is much heavier than the rad4 or T5.I did cut a lot out but I also put a lot of heavy metal back in (all of which was necessary in my opinion). What I like most about the coyote aside from the drivability is the longevity. Sure, you can make the same power with a small block but you'll be towards it's limits where as the coyote's ceiling is around 1,100 horse on the stock short block. So if it is slower than I think it will be, it's only a couple of pounds of boost away from being a rocket ship ;)

      @@dugganracecraft Im going to guess 2800lbs and if im with in 50lbs either way that means that I get the car right 😂 I feel like you are going to be completely satisfied with the car as it sits and won't have to worry about getting beat as is very much but if you add a pound or 2 of boost you most definitely won't have to worry about anything. I took the pinto down the road and back and it felt really good as far as suspension felt, it felt really tight and not sloppy and power yeah i leaned in it about half throttle and its going to be a bit more than I was expecting . I was going to take it out and do some filming but I didn't have enough fuel to get to the store or the fuel hand said so and I don't know how accurate it is so im going to pick up a 5 gallon jug and put in it to get me to the store and back but it feels really good as far as power goes . It will be going on the dyno this weekend

    Sweet for my lincoln mark vlll swap I think I'm going with the holley terminator x control harness and computer just need some input on if it's good or not and for the ac I'm notching the frame rail and also oilfilter relocation like I did on my 67fb modular conversion for the extra room I'll need , also I see you have upper and lower a arms what did you use for the lower def not stock ,

      I love the Holley set-ups, if they had a ECM that would control a 6R80, I would used it for my build. I’ve heard great things about them. The control arms that I ended up using are speedways house brand upper and lower. They’re reasonably priced and pretty good quality.

    hey do you know what those inner fender tags are on each side of the car when you take the fenders off they're underneath with some markings my Cobra 2 has them also and I don't know what they mean or how to decode them? by the way badass car man! what are you going to do as far as everything you cut out from the inner fender I'm sure it's structural because it's unibody but I have a big chunk missing from under the battery tray it got all rotted out!

    • @dugganracecraft
      @dugganracecraft  Před 2 lety +2

      On both those tags is your cars sequential serial number, the last 6 digits of your VIN! Those should also match the numbers on the top left of your buck tag! But thank you! I really appreciate it, as for the unibody, I cut it all out and replaces it with essentially a tube chassis the full length of the car, I'll eventually make new ones for this set up but they'll be removeable.

      @@tonyfriend7413 the caveat to that is it’s takes a lot to make a small block fast, and this ceiling to an NA small block is about 500HP whereas that led where the coyote starts out as an is easier to make power with. I can make over 1000 WHEEL horsepower pretty easily with a coyote/6R80 combo on a stock drivetrain, it takes a LOT of money to do that with a small block and then it’s not nearly as drivable. Which is the whole reason I did this in the first place, is to have a reliable and drivable car.
