Having a Dodge Ram truck is great and all, but if you every change something like headlight bulbs, tires, or LED lighting, you probably have problems. You'll get bulb out warnings, TPMS lights, and all sorts of errors flashing on your dash. If you're tired of it, you need AlfaOBD and OBDLink!
You can change dealer options YOURSELF.
Adding HIDs to your truck? You can do so with NO RESISTORS.
LED lights in the tail lights? No problem.
Adding in factory heated seats? Activate them yourself.

I have a 2012 Ram 1500 , i bought the app been using it with a android tablet , it doesn’t seem to offer much for my truck, could you tell me what this app offers older trucks like mine i would appreciate any direction ,
@@josuevillanueva3016 it won't work on newer ram trucks, the ports locked. search for alfaobd ram trucks on youtube theres a video showing how to unlock its obd port using a special cable.

Great info. I ordered the MX+ on Amazon and got it overnight and downloaded the Alfa program to my laptop and was able to install and program a used replacement ABS module that I got on Ebay in about 3 hours (including beer breaks) today. And now I have everything I need for next time. Thanks for putting this out there.

I also was able to use Alpha OBD to turn on the factory backup camera option on my stock 2015 ram stereo and connected a $65 amazon camera kit to it via pins #31 for camera signal and #32 for rca shielding signal..

This works perfectly on the 2019 RAM 2500. I used the Autel cable to bypass the security gateway module. It is located behind the instrument cluster. Had to remove uconnect system and cluster to get to the cable. Would have probably been easier with the other bypass cable.
for your 2019, did you change TPMS? did you need the dealer 4 digit code,? is it a rolling code? or did you use AlfaOBD to pull the pin?

I wish i can find option to use amber front and taillights when open door just like Ford has it. To me that's clever idea to stay safer at night. I was almost deciding to use relay, control wire it on mirror lights and put first light switch position on it's contact points...i would like to also remove forced ac on when blowing on windshield and disable all switching to default after climate or engine start, those things drive me nuts, i set fresh air and it gets always reset to circulation with every engine start

Great Video I have a 2018 Ram Laramie 1500 and installed the Factory Trailer Brake Control Module, I have the OBD Max+ and the Alpha OBD on my Tablet and I hope the correct module bypass cable, not certain where to go and how to get truck to recognize the trailer Brake module, I put my Snap-On scanner on and it indicates data when I move the slide and push plus or minus, so I know it is there, I need instruction on Alphaobd module set up. Thanks so much

Great information. Congrats on your channel success. Any idea if Alfa OBD works with the 2019 and newer Rams? I just bought a 2022 and want to install and activate a trailer brake module. I'm pretty sure the software can do it but the newer trucks have a gateway module. I'm not sure if I need a gateway module bypass in order to make changes through the OBD.

Hey Charles, great video and very well explained. Quick question about the Bypass cable requirements as I am confused and I am sure others maybe as well. I have a 2019 Ram 1500 Classic, is this bypass cable required? Or, is it only for the New Body Style 1500's? Or, do both models from 2018 - 2020 require this Bypass Cable to e able to modify programming settings?

I have a 2019 Ram 1500 and the astronauts at Chrysler took away the ability to turn on my cargo lights wile driving. That option is most useful when driving with my quad strapped in the bed.
Charles. You talk about programming a fob using ALFA obd and obd link. I have a 2015 Ram 1500. I bought it used and it only came with one fob. I got a brand new 5 button fob off eBay. I also have the 4 digit code from the dealer. My Ram fob has lock/unlock,panic , remote start and suspension lowering. I can’t seemed to find a video describing how to do the programming using ALFA obd.
I actually kept scrolling and found my answer in another comment. Only difference is I have a push button start. With the key fob walkthrough on the forum it showed using the baseline system but I had to use high line system. Then I had to actually start my truck from the inside to reset my remote start. It was very easy.

I installed the 7" EVIC but the gear indicator does not seem to work like a factory install. I used AlfaOBD to correct the mileage and run hours. The EVIC shows and stays in the gear it's in when I hit the - button on the steering wheel. It will not show the current gear and available gears above that even when I press the + button moving up to 8. The truck continues to perform just like it did with the 3" EVIC. Any idea what I need to correct with AlfaOBD?
I have 2021 Ram 1500 Built to Serve and frequently camp in it. I like to sleep in the back seat and use the Auto start to occasionally start the vehicle throughout the night to warm the interior. I have found that I am limited to only 2 restarts and am wondering if the Alpha OBD can change the number of restarts?

2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee...would this device help me to reactivate my door locks that stopped working, or at least show me a code or device that needs to be replaced? Left rear tail light is out as well...all the fuses and bulbs are fine...would this AlfaOBD allow me to see what's going on, or even tell the computer to reactivate the relay (wherever that is!)
It should. At least it should be able to help narrow down to what is going on/what's causing it.

My 2016 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT (8cyl) is stuck in limp mode and cannot switch the gear knob to anything. I have also replaced the throttle body. Will this device fix the transmission lightening bolt and relearn the throttle body I purchased at Auto Zone????? Hello, I installed aftermarket LED headlights w/daytime running light halos on my Canadian built 2012 Jeep Wrangler. The DRL halos work when the car is in park, however, when the car is in drive the high beams come on. Will the AlfaOBD/OBDLink MX+ allow me to program the headlights so the DRL's work properly when the car is in drive (ie. the high beams don't come on)? Thanks.

Hi Charles, I have an 2015 eco diesel. Will this program allow me to force a regen in the exhaust system? The dealer will get to my truck in about 3-5 days if I want to leave it with them (uhhhmmm no thanks lol). I was told that this software is what the dealer uses. Not that I know of...I know of only superchips and diablosport, but that is more for performance changes and such.

No, you'd need to pull the fuse or make a switch. I'll try and get something together on the one I made.
Question. I have an Autel scanner and have reset the tpms thresholds. It has the “inflate to x psi” displayed as the threshold I set it at. However the tpms light is still on on the dash and the 4 tires are still showing “red” even though the pressure is above those thresholds. Any advice on getting that to go away? You shouldn’t need anything-they should auto pair when you start using them. It may take some time, maybe 30 minutes of driving or so?
I bought a lesser expensive obd2 adapter and kept getting a corrupt error after connecting to the truck and when I attempted to turn on the mirror turn signals on my tow mirrors. It connected but wouldn’t make the change. I am returning it and just bought the MX+ with hopes that it will work. Trying to turn on mirror blinkers and puddle lights initially. I’ll try again when I get the MX+. It’s a 2018 Ram. Thanks for a great video!

Have a 15 2500 tradesman and I'm getting the following message with the OBDlink mx+ any advise I'm told this is a AlfaOBD software issue not the OBDlink mx+ device.
If AlfaOBD displays a message "Interface reports NO DATA" or "Interface reports CAN ERROR" when connecting to the car ECU, this is most probably a sign that you have one of these defective interfaces. Such an interface might work fine with other diagnostic software using OBDII/EOBD protocol, but it can have issues with AlfaOBD because of a different diagnostic protocol used.
It is recommended to use an ELM327 interface tested with AlfaOBD.

Yes. I'm shocked they continue to work. Normally after it hyperflashes for a while, the truck cuts power thinking something is wrong.
