      I agree with Plaxico somewhat. I believe that the late 70’s and early 80’s Jets were better. But there is a blue blood feel with Giants fans that was created in the 80’s and got a big boost during the Eli era. The interesting thing is two Jets teams 82 & 98 should’ve went to the Super Bowl and I believe would’ve beaten the Redskins & Falcons.

    It's simple, the Giants are focused on winning while the Jets are focused on headlines. Case in point when the Jets lost 2 straight AFC title games, they wore it like a badge of honor. The giants won the 2000 NFC title 41-0 but they never talk about it. Why? Because they lost the SB so it doesn't matter.

      yep. I love how Jets fans brag about the 2 AFC title games they went to...and LOSS! Only Jets fans brag about going to a title game.

    I'm really not a stat guy...I think that is so nerdy...my favorite QB is Phillip Rivers...he's never won a super bowl but if your eyes work...you should know that he's the most accurate passer in the league.

    Giants have been a laughingstock for a decade. they lucked out last year with an easy sched and games they got wins in that they had no business winning. Giants will fall back to earth this year while the Jets have one of the best rosters in football
    And the Jets have beaten the Giants last 2 times they played

    Why is everything "Is this team a Super Bowl contender?"?? How about we ask "Will this team even make the playoffs?"

  • @njyankeesfan
    @njyankeesfan Před 7 lety +13

    The Giants have one playoff appearance since 2008.
    8-8, 10-6, 9-7, 9-7, 7-9, 6-10, 6-10, 9-4. That's a 64-61 record. Take away their Super Bowl victory, which was a series of acts of God (Cruz 99-yard TD vs the Jets, Cowboys collapse, Falcons' play-calling on 4th down all game, 15-1 Packers not showing up and Kyle Williams' fumbles). Are they still a model organization or a mediocre one? They've drafted very poorly for almost a decade with JPP and OBJ being rare and exceptional, and Coughlin did such a poor job coaching after that last Super Bowl win.

      Hipster Lure Co. They went 12-4 in 2008 and won their division the year after they won their first Super Bowl. Since then, barely above .500. Their second Super Bowl takes away the stink of their mediocrity the last eight seasons.

      We're about to make the playoffs now though. One more win out of the final 3 games and we are pretty much in.

    • @njyankeesfan
      @njyankeesfan Před 7 lety

      Robert Serrano Noticed how you brushed over the Kyle Williams fumbles in SF. The '11 Giants had a negative point differential and got hot at the right time and everything went their way. Worst Super Bowl winner ever by far, and they've come back to Earth since.

    • @Lexus_Robb
      @Lexus_Robb Před 7 lety +18

      So basically Im still hearing is the Giants finished their jobs when it counted most (which is what every team is supposed to do) and since the NFL is so competitive defending champs rarely make the playoffs the year after or even make it back to the SB (case in point Broncos are in bad shape this year, Patriots the year before, Seahawks before that, and so on). Seahawks repeated but didnt win 2 in a row. All SB champs come back to earth. Lastly the fumble in SF is just bad football on the 9ers part. But again you have to finish strong to win it all and thats what the Giants did. You can try to minimize that but you cant take it away from them.

      There is no doubt the Giants have a well run organization. I'm not sure why you seem to disagree with this. If you're trying to compare championships, Steelers 6, Pats 4, Spurs 4, Giants 4.
      This is from an Eagles fan who hates the Giants

      Giants have won an NFL championship every decade since their establishment in 1925 except the 40s (but they won 2 championships in the 30s), the 60s and 70s. A champion ship every decade is no walk in the park.
