- You've probably seen the MMDA giving free shoes, raincoats and helmets to motorcycle riders lately, as part of their road safety efforts.
I guess it's a balancing act between enforcing the law and guiding or helping people to obey the law in the first place.
But sometimes, you'll come across someone like this, who will really try to play games with the enforcers.
I'm not sure what he was thinking. His bike was really about to be impounded for driving without a valid license

I included the recent accident involving a motorcycle rider who hit a pot hole, to highlight the dangers of wearing slippers, shorts and t-shirt.
Thankfully the DPWH have already started fixing the pot holes.
So it is also dangerous to wear a t-shirt? ✌️

Since he eventually showed a valid license, his motorcycle was not Impounded.
But he was issued with a ticket.
While the mmda could potentially request LTO to revoke the license; considering we're in a pandemic and the hardship the SG would.face, I personally doubt they will make that request.
I didn't check the ticket but generally if you screw around like that, you can pickup one or two extra violations, depending on the situation.

you know what? I have been guilty of illegally driving, I admit....expired tags and or no vehicle insurance when I was a younge adult. Knowing this and trying to not get caught, I drive safer to not attract attention...in this case, why do you ride on a motorbike wearing slippers having an expired license? If u gonna drive with no license, at least dont attract attention, lol!!!

I slipped once, when I had to suddenly press the break because some asshole tricycle that wasn't supposed to be on the road beat a red light. I had my right side black and blue for weeks. Luckily no permanent damage.

I myself prefer to just ride my motorcycle with slippers as having to put on some shoes everytime I'm on an errand near my house is a hassle, but now I'd rather wear shoes rather than losing a nail or worse!

Pano ba naman kase nag renew ako tapos papel lang at hindi sila makagawa ng bagong id. Tapos months pa bago mo maredeem yung new id kaya nakalimutan na kunin luma.

My guess is that he was hoping the enforcers would just let him go with a warning, because it's a hassle to get a vehicle impounded.
And he might have been expecting an extended amount of consideration because he's a guard.
