I have not scratched the surface of what New Orleans has to offer. I can tell you this is my favorite sandwich. Living in south Louisiana, I’ve had it so many times. I love making my own. I will sometimes sprinkle a little feta on it.
Can't beat a good Gumbo with rice (roux-based; no mudbugs) for dinner. Shrimp poboy with lots of lettuce, pickle and Tabasco sauce for lunch. Shrimp and grits with sausage and an over-easy egg for breakfast. Muffaletta is a new thing for me this year and I've made them three times so far with my first homemade-ish olive salad (ala Serious Eats) presently marinating in the fridge for the fourth round. If it tastes this good, how can it be bad for you?
I've been dying to make this for my girlfriend since we got back from Nola. She loved the muffaletta. She can eat a whole jar of olives if you don't take them away. I see that you have a video on making the giardiniera, that will be my next stop. Thanks for the informative video. Man that sandwich looks good!
I make one using Boscoli Italian Salad (from Kenner, LA... close enough lol)... not technically a Tapenade. But I make it in halves... I take the top bun and put the provolone on top of the Olive Salad, then Provolone before adding half of the meats (I also use Prosciutto). On the other half I put the Olive Salad and the other half of the meats then the Provolone... then under the broiler until the chese has melted, then I put the two halves together. Wow, soooo good, I think you'd like it this way. Take care!
Oh my goodness! I saw your video and said I have to try this! Followed step by step all I can say is, Wow wow wow! Absolutely Delicious!!! Thank you for sharing this!
Great looking sandwich. I liked your comment, "the hardest part now is you gotta wait" So true. Do you have a brand of Red Wine Vinegar you prefer for the Muffaletta Spread?
The Muffaletta is my most favorite sandwich, and I rarely get it; last time was in NOLA about 4 years ago. I am so anxious to try your recipe, and since buying the giardiniera online is so very expensive, I will definitely try your recipe for that, too. I hope I can find the Capicola. Your sandwich looks heavenly, and I hope to make it real soon. Thank you for sharing all your amazing videos! When will you have a recipe for New Orleans style bread pudding?
Thanks, Diane. I appreciate it, and hope you love it as much as we do. I don't have a recipe for the bread pudding online, but may need to remedy that!
Great video, thanks. Question for you, I know that sandwich is meant to be eaten cold but do you think it could be beneficial for it if somehow you warm the bread a bit?
I make mine open face, pop it in the oven at 350 for 10 minutes. Heated brings out the flavors of the ingredients. I put the cheese on the top half, so it’s easier, and neater to flip it on the bottom. The melted cheese hold everything in place.
Thank You So So Much for the recipe for the Topinod ( I think I spelled that Wrong 🤔?) Olive Topping 👍 it’s so Very Hard to find, but my Husband did find some and it’s Just Awful 🤭🥴 Does Not taste like any I have had on a Sandwich- EVER! Thank Goodness it’s a small jar. I can’t wait to make Your Recipe 👍 I started following you after I watched your Video on Candied Cowboy peppers . I grew a good batch of Sweet Banana peppers . I think I’m gonna try your recipe using those ? Anyway, 2 different videos I know ( sorry ) I am so excited about YOUR CZcams Channel. Right up my Alley 👍 xoxo , Susan from Alabama
@@ChiliPepperMadness I just watched more of your Videos this morning 🤗 i could not wait to get on and watch more of YOUR videos before my 3 yr old Granddaughter gets here . I grew a lot of Sweet Banana peppers, and I still have tons of Cayenne peppers. I don’t know what I want to do with them? Do I Dehydrate them for Red chili flakes 🤔 or make a Hot sauce with them? What do you suggest for the Cayenne’s ? Love love love your Chanel 👍🤗😘 p.s. I’m gonna do my Banana peppers like you did, I think. Kinda want to try and Candy them like you did the Jalapeños? ????? lol
Thanks, Susan. There are so many ways to use up those peppers. Absolutely, you can pickle them or candy them. No problem at all. I do love drying them and grind them into chili flakes or powders. I also just cook them into meals by cooking them down with onions and garlic as a base. Great way to add flavor and heat!
@@ChiliPepperMadness Thanks for Responding 😊 How do you dry your Cayenne Peppers? I do Love Chili Flakes, I cant imagine my Very own Home Grown Chili flakes 🤗😋😊
Noted! Much of this information is on my actual web site. Link in the description. Thought it might be a bit long for video. But I do appreciate the comment.
What's your favorite New Orleans dish?
All of it!! That’s how I got so fat but so worth it!!😂

Perfect!

Awesome! Enjoy! We love this one.

Thanks! I know, waiting is the worst part. I don't have a specific brand for vinegar. Many good ones!
Wow

@@ChiliPepperMadness, that would be amazing to see a bread pudding recipe from you.
Great looking sandwich! I would recommend layering the cheese between the meats though ....
Thanks! Go for it!
Can you make the olive mixture the day before, you put the sandwich together?
You surely can! I usually do.
Hey can you heat this sandwich in oven a few min to melt down the cheese and heat up the meats a little.
Surely! Just a bit of heat. Let me know how you like it!
Great video, thanks.
Question for you, I know that sandwich is meant to be eaten cold but do you think it could be beneficial for it if somehow you warm the bread a bit?
Thanks! Yes, go for it. You're the one eating it, so definitely enjoy as you wish! I like a hot sandwich. =)

Susan, I use a dehydrator. See my post on this on the site: www.chilipeppermadness.com/preserving-chili-peppers/dehydrating-peppers/
👍👍👍👍
You chicken 🐔. You didn't even TRY to take a bite of the sandwich 😂.
🤣 🤣 I promise you, it was all gone..... a few minutes later LOL
Be nice if I give a background on the ingredients, especially the meats.

WHY NOT JUST EAT THE BREAD FILLING INSTEAD OF THROWING IT AWAY lol
You surely can, Ambar. I usually do.
This guy's food looks really, really good. Unfortunately, he seems not to have developed a personality along the way.
Kind of like your mom?
