Taxpayers to ‘carry the can’ due to government’s spending habits

  • Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood says the taxpayer is going to “carry the can” due to the government’s spending habits.
Mr Greenwood joined Sky News Australia to discuss the upcoming federal budget, which will be released on Tuesday, May 14.
“It’s expected that the budget, when it’s handed down next Tuesday, will show significant deterioration from here,” he said.
“So while we know that this current financial year is likely to have a second surplus, which is good, this is showing good discipline.
“But you can see here that the pressure of the spending basically comes to create deficits during these next out years.”

Lower birth rates are a result of dual income families, pure and simple. That is an economic outcome of social policies that have been attacking family and social structures since the 1970's.

Australia is in a recession and heading for a depression. Many people are unemployed and struggling to survive financially. Crime is on the increase. Labor's policies are destroying the economy, the country and the people of this great nation.

The issue isn't only that government spending and borrowing during covid is what caused the inflation, but that mass migration doesn't actually benefit the economy and is causing further inflation. If migrants benefited the economy why is our GDP so low and why hasn't our GDP per capita increased when we allowed in over 600,000 more people last year?
