Thank you for sharing, Iâd like you to do the jot form, for ease of use and embedding into a Canva site, in comparison to something like google forms (as a order form for a service business) and just more videos in Canva sites in general

Hey, great review! I so appreciate the fact that you assess the bad along with the good. It's very objective. I think I might play around with this on mobile and then upload to Canva for the finishing touches. Do you have any insight into whether Canva will add more functionality similar to the mobile version in the near future?

Read the Prisma Terms & Conditions carefully. Under section 6, you will see that it cannot be used for any commercial use. Even if you upload your own photo that you have rights to, the results cannot be used commercially.

Hi Ronny, (fellow Walloons here :-) to remove the Prisma made black background, slide your logo or app logo in a frame then extend it until the black is gone. However, it will only work with round, squared, or rounded squared logos. so technically you could create awesome IG highlights, app covers for your website.

Hey Ronny! Thanks for your video. I tried the Prisma effect on my logo and also got the black background. But I then did the background remover and it took the black background off. So a little clunky to have that extra step but at least the work around worked! Maybe they'll improve that in the future! You might want to give it a try!

thank you for such valuable insights and review; most of all your opinion. i did save a cartoonized photo in prisma mobile and emailed it to myself. but the resulting resolution from the app was just 300KB. which means it won't enlarge well for a tshirt or even mug. is there a setting in the mobile app to save it with a larger size before sending out? maybe i'm doing something wrong..
also of note, the background cannot be removed from some of the styles in the mobile app, example is cartoonized. bummer. maybe it will in the web version non canva.

Hello I have a question I have the pro but I donât see the Prisma on it when I do the edit photo đą why?
You can apply background remover to remove the black boxes
You're right Ray, but then it makes that feature only usable for Pro users.
I tried removing the black rectangle with the BG Remover but had some parts of my logo being deleted as well... so that's why I chose not to mention that in the video đ

Did they take Prisma away? I can't find it. I have done app search and I get a message sorry nothing exists with that name.

I notice most apps work better on mobile than on the computer. A super robust app like Canva is always better on the computer though. Exceptional review and if it's a 2.3 on the computer would you give it a 4 on mobile? đ€

You can crop your elements by double clicking on them and dragging from the corners.

I mean I need to cut a small part of an element not to crop it as crop must cut an aspect of the element like to cut a line of element or any small part is it available in canva ?

That's a good question!
I haven't used these types of effect very often. TBH I found the mobile version of Prisma very good, so I'd recommend this one for now.

I was on it tonight and it went to 118 pages and I didnât know what was happening and I got worried it was a glitch so I deleted the extra pages as I thought it might shut down and I would lose all the work I had done.

From the Canva Homepage, locate the âDiscover Appsâ button on the left menu.
Search for Prisma.
I couldn't get it to work on anything except that sample image. When I added a page the option was no longer available.

I'd recommend you try using an image, then click on the "Edit image" button, and search for the Prisma app in that menu.

Which application do you use to edit your video?
We use a combination of QuickTime Player to record our screen and OBS to record our talking head + Premiere Pro to edit.

This app has actually been removed from Canva.
I took the time to read Prisma's ToS, and it turns out that it cannot be used for any commercial purpose. It also means that you cannot even use it for making social media posts for your own small business. So it's a no-go for me. đ

When you click on Prisma in Canva's "Discover Apps" tab, the pop-up says, "By using this app, you agree to its Terms & Conditions and Privacy policy".
Their PROHIBITED CONDUCT AND CONTENT includes this sentence: "For any commercial purpose or the benefit of any third party or in any manner not permitted by these Terms."
I believe it means that you cannot use images made with Prisma for your own or other businesses.
What a shame... And I think Canva should point it out because most people never read the terms.
You could duplicate the image and remove the background and do it yourself. Not as cool as having it do it on its own but you could still do that.
You're right, I could have used the BG Remover to get rid of the black rectangle, but then only Pro users would be able to benefit from that... I wanted to show everyone one of the limitations of the app.
I don't think there is an eraser tool where you can erase the desired places in photos or images.đ€šđ§đđ
The only eraser tool in Canva is a feature that goes with the Background Remover (Pro).
you might not choose the proper channel of the sounds, the chest recorder seems not work at all
