hello, Thank you for the information. I have a question, would I be able to lock images on canva to where the buyer would not be able to copy/extract license images from outside vendors?
I don't think you can do that Ariana. It would be better not to use images that you don't own the right to sell.

Hi! I've been watching every single one of your videos for a week, you guys are so great!
I've seen people on Etsy selling templates of the new Canva beta webpage. Am I missing the space where it lets me create a template for those? I've been selling Shopify templates for over a year, and I'm anxious to jump in on this, but I only see the option to let somebody edit the original page, and the usual template link doesn't seem to exist within the editor for the canva webpage? Do you know how people are setting this up to be able to sell them as templates? Thanks so much!

Regarding the template button, I just tried and it worked on my side.
Go to the website document > Search for the Share button on the navbar on top > Share a link to use as template.
If you still don't see it, it might be because Canva is testing a different editor layout (?), in this case, I'd suggest you reach out to them directly to get guidance: www.canva.com/help/get-in-touch/

Can elements and images provided by Canva be used on the templates?
Because anyone that gets paid template or not is a commercial transaction so the process is still confusing.

She said only use free images & elements in the designs, because not everyone has the pro version, it will cost $ to the user for pro features.

I understood from reading the terms and conditions that is ok if you are using the elements in the library and the users will use them by returning to canva (which is the case with templates), even though Creative Market told me once via email that I should own all elements on my templates... I still think it would be a good idea to double check with the marketplace you are planning selling them on and also double check directly with Canva.

Hi Zara, CreativeMarket told me all elements used on templates we're planning on sell must be our own. Even though you've created the design from scratch.
To be sure, it'll be better to only use elements you've created or only the basic shapes available for free on canva.

Hi Diana - these videos are so easy to understand. I have been trying to clarify this for a really long time - can you please explain if we need to save our template post documents in Canva in a specific format (like PDF, JPEG, PNG) OR is it enough to just say it is a template link.

But I followed one of your tutorials and I think that something on Canva changed, di you agree?
When I chose the share as a template I try it s if a was a customer buying it (I try it with another Canva account) and modify the template. Once I do that the template changes in my main account too.
Did I do something wrong or did Canva change their setting?

Yes it is important as this is the digital product you are selling and this would be the way for your clients to have access to the products.

It means you didn’t share a template link.
If you have a Pro account, Canva will let you share a design as a template.

Hi Maria, I understand that you cannot do that. All images and element must be your own, the only exception are the simple shapes you can find for free in Canva.
If we build a template from canva using pro account use some of the pro elements,style ,etc and sell that templates the user who’s gonna buy that template not gonna be able to use that template if they don’t have pro account on canva ? Im confused in this particular area, so what is the use of buying pro account then ?
If your templates uses Pro elements, the user with a free account will see a watermark on these elements and will need to pay to download the template with these Elements.
So we would recommend not including Pro elements in the templates you intend to sell.

Our channel and its growing audience is for sure a steady stream of traffic to the templates. But organic search traffic in Canva is also an important source of traffic for our templates.

You can also sell (contribute) elements to the Canva library. There are different rules though

That's a good question Jessica.
Creative Market told me once via email that I should own all elements on my templates... I still think it would be a good idea to double check with the marketplace you are planning selling them on and also double check with Canva.
Then you might want to change this video because she said use free elements. That makes it sound like they’re not your own. I can’t believe all those templates being made they’re creating their own elements too. Just hard to believe. They all look exactly like what’s in Canva.

I wouldn’t do that for now as it’s not clear who owns the copyright of these AI generated images.

If you were going to sell bundles on Etsy would you create them by creating pages on the same template and creating each page from scratch, or each template would have it's own link?
That depends on you but I'd suggest to have all designs in the same document so you don't have to create so many links :)
Our amazing Canva App is almost downloadable. The only stubbling block is I'm not getting a code that enables me use my email to enable me fully download CANVA. Or must I always be online to use Canva??

there is no code needed to download the Canva app.
@@TeamRonDi When I click on Sign up, the next stage is to type in my Full name and email address. After I click continue, there's usually code Google or Canva operators tell me to click so I can receive a code into my email before the final process of downloading the Canva App. That's where I get stuck because I don't recieve any code.

I do have a bunch of free templates on Canva, but if you ask for selling your bundles... yes you could use that strategy. Have a lead magnet where people could download a bundle of free templates in exchange for their email address. Then you could retarget them with your email marketing.
How can you check that all these sellers have not used the Canva templates themselves and are thus breaking the law??

Dear Diana, I love your videos and Ronny‘s. But I‘m really surprised that you don‘t know the terms & conditions 100%. I think you are in this position…you have to know it 100%. There are many questions from your community if they can use all the elements.

As Canva Creator, I have read the rules and mostly understand what I can and cannot do when creating templates.
But, we feel it’s every creator’s responsibility to read these licensing agreements and realize what they can/can’t do.
We are not in a position to give you legal advice nor do we want to do it.
Why not just give them a link rather than a pdf with a link?
This could be an interesting way to make upsales as you can promote other items in the same pdf, but you are right, if the platform allows you to send links (not only downloadables) you can give them a link straight away.
Etsy seems saturated.
Do not use that as an excuse.
People say the same thing about Fiverr, CZcams and TikTok...
Just start and one day you'll be glad you did. These platforms still have some great years in front of them.
