Haven't watched or thought about this show in at least 20 years, and as soon as I heard the singing "Eu-ree-kaaaaa" my brain suddenly just clicked and I remembered the remainder of the song, the characters, the room I would watch it in, etc. It's amazing, really. The memories you have stored in your brain that you didn't even know where there.

First time i saw this show on Nick Jr, i was amazed; not only was it fun, but the puppeteering was of Jim Henson quality. The characters were interesting and funny, and the shorts were clever. And the beginning and end song...i swear, it was hilarious. It was this, The World of David the Gnome, the Little Koala, the Noozles....Good times, *gooooood times*

Ultimately, so we are to believe, there is no true good show, but only our perception of goodness. But, I say fuck that shit. Today's showsome are crap. I'm 30. I stopped with Victorious and Wizards of Waverly Place. That's when it went downhill for me. it's not just nostalgia. Those shows were better.

This was my son's favorite show when he was a toddler to older. He had a lineup. Maya the Bee, this show, Graham and Lois Show with the Elephant, David the Gnome, and something else that I can't remember. My youngest grandson is 10 months old and when I was feeding him one time, I was singing "picnic time, picnic time", and my daughter goes what's that? I told her that her older brother loved that show and I loved that song, so I looked it up so she could hear it. My grandson likes it, my daughter, not so much. But, she's a party pooper anyway. She likes rap and hip hop :( blech!!

As an '80s kid, I cried a little watching this.
Not so much for nostalgic reasons, but for the fact that if these shows, or shows like them were still around, the world might not be such a bad place. Growing up in a severely dysfunctional family, I really didn't have any real positive support/stimulation, so I learned a LOT of stuff from watching shows like this. Both intellectual and emotional.
Most of the crap shown nowadays is why I think there are so many stupid people (teenagers/kids) running around.

These shows were made with love and creativity. It's kinda like old video games. Programmers were masters of their craft. Assembly language, digital art, story telling, music... Indie today tries, but can't get it right. Todays shows are nothing but a political agenda. Can't call it nostalgia glasses because the last show I enjoyed on tv was chowder and I look forward to The Raccoons reboot. The Raccoons literally dodged the bullet by rejecting cal arts style. But for the most part, 90% of modern shows are terrible.

Many different people worked with the Henson company, as they had the workshop that made the puppets and taught the puppeteers. But that didn't automatically make Jim Henson's direct team involved with the projects :) They were often busy with multiple ones of their own at any given time.

Eureeka's Castle was Nickelodeon/Nick Jr.'s version of Jim Henson’s Muppets on Sesame Street, The Muppet Show, and Fraggle Rock. I loved all the characters, the sorcerer Eureeka, the dragon Magellan, the pets Cooey and the Slurms, the bat Batley, the spider Webster, Bogge and Quagmire, Mr. Knack, the mice Sir Klank, Kate, and Emma, the singing fish statues called The Fishtones, and The Giant, the off-animated segments from Western Woods Studios films based on popular children's books, live-action short films, and U.K. imports such as Roobard, The Shoe People, and Gran, they'd use as filler Entertainment. I used to watch this show all the time. From 1990 to 1993, the show was airing on early Weekend Mornings on Nickelodeon in the 7:00am timeslots, and from 1993 to 1994, later moved to the 6:30am timeslot. From 1992 to 1993, the show aired from 9:00am to 12:00 noon Monday to Friday, From Summer to early fall 1993, it was from 9:00 to 11:00am. From Fall to Winter 1993, it was from 10:00am to 11:00am, From early to Summer 1994, it was from 12:00 to 1:00pm 1993 to 1996, in Summer 1994, the half-hour timeslot was from 12:00pm. From fall 1994 to early fall 1996, and fall 1998 to Spring 1999, it was from 1:00 to 1:30pm, when it was replaced by Franklin. This show, along with Mr. Wizard's World, Out of Control, Pinwheel, You Can't Do That on Television, Double Dare, Super Sloppy Double Dare, Finders Keepers, Don't Just Sit There!, Kids' Court, Think Fast, Hey Dude, Nickelodeon's Total Panic, Make the Grade, SK8-TV, Wild & Crazy Kids, Outta Here!, Family Double Dare (Fox and Nick versions), Fifteen, Welcome Freshmen, Clarissa Explains It All, Get the Picture, Salute Your Shorts, Doug, Rugrats, The Ren & Stimpy Show, What Would You Do?, Nick Arcade, Nick News, Roundhouse, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Nick Wild Side Show, Nick GUTS, Global GUTS, Beyond Belief!!, Fred Penner's Place, Cappeli & Company, Weinerville, Rocko's Modern Life, Legends of the Hidden Temple, The Adventures of Pete & Pete, the remake of The Tomorrow People, All That, The Secret World of Alex Mack, My Brother and Me, Allegra's Window, Gullah Gullah Island, Aaahh!!!
