whenever i duel in ER i always feel like the build mattered a bit less in DS3 like, some weapons feel literally useless against everything else for example power-stanced greatswords like double-claymores for example - most attacks are slow, doesnt really have hyperarmor on them, the range is not too great also passive poise forces you to wear specific stuff a bit more than it did in DS3 overall i feel like in DS3 i had more chances to defeat a meta build with non-meta one, i've been killing people with fists in arena when it came out (ofc noobs only, but still i dont think in ER its even possible)

Well some things are OP in PVE, some OP in PVP, and some things are OP in both. Dual greatswords obliterate all the bosses, in PVP they're kinda meh. You can build around raptor of the mists with maximising damage, so you can one shot people. You can also right hand claymore to have crouch R1 and R2 be pokes, because powerstanced moveset is kinda bad with greatswords. You got to remember that in this game ashes of war and status effects are much more viable than DS3, so pairing dual greatswords with some nice AOE skills on main hand and having both weapons like frost infused would work pretty fine I think. I'd say the main difference is building around certain build, in ER you have to really think through your build (unless you're straight up copying meta). And also dual greatswords work in same principle as one handing the weapon in terms of poise, in DS3 and Elden Ring if you don't want to get interrupted out of your attack it's always good to two hand the weapon
