    In this video, I plink around with the 21st Tec Bellator. A multi-caliber bolt action precision rifle that fits into a relatively small box. Well, if you consider it fits the rifle, optic, suppressor, and a different caliber conversion kit. My example is chambered in both .308 Winchester and .338 Lapua Magnum. What are y'all's thoughts on it?

    I’d be interested to see you do a 3 round grouping drill several times, pulling the barrel, hand guard, and all off and reassembling each time, to see what kind of impact shift occurs each time.

      I wonder how much the barrels twist adds or subtracts from the accuracy depending on where the first twist starts on the receiver

      @@Ac3Mustang read this 3 times have no idea what you mean. Its headspaced like an AR15, except theres no barrel nut. Just cross bolts, the barrel twist, rifling is the same due to bolt face lock up. Even the smallest of headspace issues will cause a serious blow out if the barrel walks, had seen a detachable barrel system loosen up with a .300 BO sub once. Toasted the bcg, and upper on a subsonic round. Barrel alignment has to be good. There’s 0 room for error there.

    try zeroing the 338 LM configuration without the can to see if you can get it to group. the 338 barrel muzzle threading may have a concentricity issue with the can. both Sig Sauer and Barrett designs pay particular attention to how the suppressor QD mount screws down to the barrel with a tapered shoulder to ensure the can aligns perfectly with the barrel each time it is screwed on. I have a Christensen Arms MPR in 6.5CM I could not get to group with any of my .30cal. cans. Bullet impacts went everywhere just like they were doing with your 338LM config. Without the can my 6.5CM MPR it grouped sub-MOA per CA guarantee, but none of my the .30 cal cans would let it group, so there was likely an issue of can to barrel concentricity./alignment. My solution was to overbore the suppressor with my 45 caliber can from my 45-70.and now I'm grouping sub-MOA with an over bore suppressor. Wasted a lot of top shelf 6.5CM ammo figuring all that out.

    In theory having a left hand bolt for a right hand dominant shooter sounds great . In fact I enjoy it on my predator hunting rigs that will primarily be used on tripods or the night hunting chairs.
    That said I built a left hand bolt prs rig and did not enjoy it near as much , especially while laying prone.

    We sell them, I own one. Something isn't right with that particular rig. I'm sure Skip is already taking care of it. At Triggercon in September people off the street with no training were routinely hitting a steel silhouette at 700. Ryan Cheney was making 700m head shots on steel with it. We all know Brandon can shoot so it's not an operator error. Looking forward to the follow up video.

    That looks like a much better, and more affordable system vs some of the others out there like the Barrett MRAD. It would be interesting to hear what's up with the .338 lapua. It's entirely possible it just needs to be played with more. In general, with the scope mounted to the receiver, I imagine there's always going to be a POI shift when reassembled, and certainly a POI shift between calibers. Still, that's a really neat package. How much does it weigh though?

    I’m wondering, you are used to precision firearms and you are experienced on shooting very accurate with firearms but if you now where to pick up an air rifle would that be very different or would still the same principle apply. Also is learning to shoot on air rifles a good way to get a feel for long range shooting to eventually move on to actually precision rifles???
    I am wondering that because I live in Europe so I can’t own firearms. I can however own air rifles so I do shoot them. I have become pretty good at pushing my air rifle right up to its limit of accurate range but I hope to one day be able to move to the US to pursue my passion of long range shooting but with actual rifles.
    So do you think the experience I build up with an air rifle is valuable experience to shoot real rifles?

    • @fishymacaroon6
      @fishymacaroon6 Před 10 měsíci +3

      I'd say go for it. Your biggest difference would be recoil, both in the way it feels and the quantity. But things like trigger control, stability, breathing, ranging, wind calls, etc. should all be transferable between the two.

    • @Donuts_random_stuff
      @Donuts_random_stuff Před 10 měsíci +2

      @@fishymacaroon6 I do have recoil because I shoot a springer and not a PCP, the problem is that the recoil of a springer feels different for what I’ve heard because the piston is being launched forward the recoil doesn’t go into your shoulder like a real firearm. Again I don’t know how noticeable the difference is because I sadly never shot a real firearm.
      If my air rifle diesels it’s technically a real firearm because a little explosion forms what can with some air rifles make the pellets go nearly double as fast and if you then hold the rifle in a wrong way it can hurt (don’t ask me how I know lol)

    • @Forrestminds
      @Forrestminds Před 10 měsíci +2

      Training and practice is valuable either way and you would quickly overcome the learning curve. Recoil is obviously a big factor, and definitely significant compared to what you’re used to but no recoil is really that bad. rifle shooting would probably be a fantastic transition for you as the person above stated, you already have all of the fundamentals down. I hope you get to come over here and try it out!

    Why oh why did they go with a AR trigger? One of the advantages of a bolt gun over a semi auto (which there’s not many) is the ability to have a lighter, shorter, crisper trigger with a much much faster lock time (over twice as fast). It’s still pretty cool looking

    It's cool, but I'm not seeing where 4k out of that 5.6k went.. other than their pockets. :)
    Pretty cheap looking basic rail and the action looks essentially like an AR10 with a side charging mod. Cut out the gas system and simplify the bolt into one piece; no need for a buffer tube in the rear-- you're essentially done. I'm not joking when I say I don't see where the money is going. I could buy a side charging AR10 and weld the bolt to the carrier and boom.. I'm 90% the same as this rifle with a $500 308 build kit. Not impressed with their price. (granted it wouldn't swap calibers; touché). again, it's cool. But where do they dream up these prices? There's almost no R&D on this; everything they did has already been well established on other rifles. Even the swappable mag well is old tech. Cheers :)
