That's beautiful! Congratulations to you both! I married my high school sweetheart. We met when he was 14 and I was 17. I was friends with his older cousins. He stayed in touch till he turned 18 and then he said he's my boyfriend now lol. We've been together for 21 years and married for 10 years this month. ❤

I am thankful that I married my Junior High School Sweetheart and this year in September we will be married 45 years! To God be the Glory! He allowed me to write my first book for Married Women that do not want just a surviving marriage but a Thriving Marriage, for Engaged women to prepare for being a wife before the wedding day and lastly for the Woman that is in her season of waiting to enjoy her singleness while waiting.

This episode has left me speechless. I have been praying for years for the one who will be my Priest, Provider, and Protector. For the first time, Devale and Laterras broke down the very meaning of Protector that I have come to respect and honor about my future husband’s role. It is not about finances for me, it is safety and security. The safety comes from how he will provide the space to be myself authentically and won’t judge me. The security comes from his commitment to keep his vows to God first then to me (in that order). I cannot wait to be impregnated with his visions and to give birth to our dreams. Together we will declare how we started from the bottom now we’re here. Looking at Devale and Khadeen, I know it is possible. 💜

I've been following Khadeen and Devale since they started sharing their life on social media. That said, I have heard their testimony countless times and I still listen to it every single time. This is not a love our generation is used to seeing. This is a "grandparent's" type of love. I love that we have a positive view of young black marriage. I've been with my husband for 10 years (married for going on 8 years). Marriage is work, it's a constant commitment to wake up and carry out your vows on the good days and the bad. I feel truly blessed to know I am married to my best friend. I not only love my husband, but I like him. ❤

They caught my attention when they first appeared on the series "Black Love" when Devale cried and discussed going through depression and how Khadeen helped him through that rough time. Great episode Laterras. Devale is showing men how to be vulnerable and available for their women and families. If we can have men like this, I believe many women can 'submit' to this type of leadership.

This was probably my favorite episode so far!!! Love them! Also did not expect to cry multiple times watching retell their story especially the story from Thanksgiving when Khadeen had to leave and go to work at the mall. I really enjoyed watching this episode. Laterras, you are really bringing the heat with your guests this season. So much resonated with me in this episode and it shooked me. I love seeing a healthy relationship that has come out of unhealthiness and a willingness to work on that for each other. My biggest take away was the SUPPORT that they had for each other. That's what is needed to form a strong and healthy relationship.
