  • In this lesson you’ll learn two ways to say “or,” using 아니면 and the particle (이)나. You’ll learn how to use 아니면 at the beginning of a sentence, or between two nouns. And you’ll learn how the particle (이)나 is different from 아니면, and when to use each form.

    Definetly appreciate the effort to sound like there are 2 people talking in the conversation practice part.

    Heyy Billy! Along the way I have also picked up 또는 as a way of saying ‘or’. I understand the difference between 아니면 and 이나 now but how is the usage of 또닌 different from these two?

      I occasionally re-upload these episodes in order to fix small typos. I think this one had a single spacing error.

    What's the difference/nuance between 물어보다 and 질문(을) 하다? Idk which one to use know 😅

    • @GoBillyKorean
      @GoBillyKorean  Před rokem +3

      물어보다 is just "to ask." 질문 specifically is a "question."

    Hey Billy. I never thought of this until now, but exactly how strict are Koreans in terms of Korean age? Obviously it’s difficult to know exactly how old someone is compared to you without asking (assuming they look similar in age to you) so you should speak politely. But if someone is only 1 year older, for example, will they speak like the conversation practice? Are we talking about a few years? Or does it really just depend on how close the friendship is?

    • @GoBillyKorean
      @GoBillyKorean  Před rokem +2

      If you don't know their age confidently already, you should definitely stick to these to be safe. Once you're close friends with someone, then being a non-Korean you can discuss with them how they'd prefer that you call them. Otherwise, it's better to be safe. Many Korean friends as well, even close, will still follow these guidelines even if they're only 1 year apart.

    As I read the title of the video, I try to guess which word you are referring to. And I'm glad that 99% of the time I'm spot on
