Funny how Simon won’t go off statistics when it comes to Ole & ETH but swears by statistics when it comes to poor refereeing decisions & VAR 😵💫
He’s a typical conservative/tory, riddled with hypocrisy
@@jameswilson9578 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Well it makes sense Michael, because VAR discussion refers to clear RULES of the game, in which statistics would be the key element to debate with. And as Simon explained for you already, one of the most important factors that has changed at united under ten hag is the CULTURE. Tell me, what stats would you have simon use to measure that?
Try focusing on the actual words and logic someone says and uses, rather than being blinded by whether you like the person or not who’s speaking to begin with.
@@jameswilson9578 you’re so basic
@@ClihtYeastwood Correct. One is conducive toward a quantitative analysis while the other is not. It’s not difficult to comprehend but most football fans are as thick as a truck full of dung.
Ole was 5 times the manager Lampard is today, but Lampard was protected by these sorts while failing even harder.
100% fact
Ole was dogshit 🐕 💩
What's that got to do with ole vs TH. We aren't comparing ole to fat Frank or slippy g
Ole was rubbish. Doesn't matter if he's better than Lampard, it's like comparing rubbish to garbage.
I am surprised why people who love Ole havent suggested him for the Tottenham or Chelsea or any other jobs in premier league, if he was that good
No Tottenham don't have the players to make it work. He could do a job at chelsea, you have a squad of unfamiliar players who need bringing together without it being too tactically complicated as the players just don't know each other yet and get a tune out of them for a couple seasons. Then they could move on to someone else. But why would I want one of my clubs legends at a rival
Manchester United need better recruitment. That's more of a problem.
They have definitely improved under Ten Haag but they’ve had few kicks in the teeth along the way, still a lot of work to do.
This was said under Ole too back when the hate on Mourinho was out of control. Mourinho hate subsided and then Ole shortcomings came to light
They actually haven't improved, they can't score goals don't create enough chances that's down to ETH. Under Ole Utd were a counter attack team, it hasn't changed under ETH.
@@DC94359Look at the stats. Created loads of chances. The issue is they are underperforming their XG by a huge number. Meaning no striker is costing them. It's not rocket science. Defensively much better as well.

You've gone further in the Thai Energy Drink Cup and are 4th...maybe even finishing 5th in the Prem. How have you gone further in all competitions?

We have more points and more wins than last season
We have already won a trophy and are in the final of another one
We currently have the most cleansheets in the league amazingly
We are still in control of our destiny to make top 4
Its ETH's first season btw. Cut the man some slack we lost 2 of our best center backs and we are playing without a proper no.9
Agree my man
Lost 2 of your best centre backs... Under Ole there was Maguire and lindeoff... Fred and Mctom.... oyea Dan james... you finished 2nd and 3rd and a Europa Final. United were firing in all clinders under Ole until Ronaldo. Yet wit Ten Hag its become the most embarressing losses in club history
@@infinitybeyond9828 Ole in his deluded mind never considered Lindelof and Maguire as bad players. Eric Baily is a million times better than Maguire yet he picks Maguire all the time. Ole would drop Prime Ramos to play Maguire
Ole was terrific when he was appointed as the interim manager. The mistake was the knee jerk reaction of Woodward to make the appointment permanent. I personally hold Woodward to blame for so many poor decisions that hurt United. His involvement in transfers being at the top of the list. And if the Disneyland story is true, then it adds to his failures.
The reason Ole failed after becoming permanent is his recruitment. Letting Herrera go and not replacing him until Eriksen and Casemiro came in, was criminal. Selling Smalling and signing an inferior Maguire was a huge mistake.
@@thrilla72 Agreed. And Woodward was far too involved in transfers. While I'm playing the blame game, I blame Phelan for convincing Ole to sign Maguire.
People push this narrative but it's nonsense. A bad appointment is Frank Lampard. A bad appointment is not a man that finishes 3rd and 2nd in the most competitive league.
It's shocking how illogical so many people are.
@@DirtyJamesUK Yes and no, 2nd and 3rd on 66 points just means everyone else was absolutely poor. In most seasons you need 70+ if not 75 points to get into the top 4

What’s bad is stevie G and Frank but you didn’t see them both get crucified week in week out.
Those are 2 of the worst ever PL managers but there English tax gets them away from the conversation
@@JAS563ify Lost on penalties in one because De Gea missed.. Hardly Ole's fault.
Ole is the most disrespected person in the media because he never comes back fighting like other managers because he's too nice. His words get taken out of context.
If you understand the context from the statements it's infact Ole raising standards and Mourinho lowering standards:
Ole "Trophies are for egos.. Its not as though you're back if you win these trophies". He's clearly referring to tier 2 trophies as it was before an EL press conference (ie Europa League FA Cup League Cup Community Shield etc). And he's 100% correct because United have won these trophies in the last decade but are NOWHERE back as you can see this season. So he's raising the standards that DON'T get happy winning these trophies, you're only back when you compete and win the top tier trophies ie Premier league and Champions league.
Ole "we finished 2nd but it's not where we want to be and we need to do everything to get back to where this club should be". You get the point.
Jose "I won three titles at Manchester United and my biggest achievement in my career was finishing 2nd there". Them three titles? EL League Cup and a measly Community Shield which he didn't even qualify for. And finishing 19 points behind City despite spending 300m was his best achievement. Why isn't that lowering standards? Jose was bought into win the Premier league and Champions league and Ole was brought into bring a club flirting regularly with Europa league football to get back into Champions league regularly and then get them back on track to winning the league either with him or the next manager.
Do you see how things are taken out of context in the media and a narrative is set?
Simon crucified them both
@@-The-Darkside So zero then
Gerrard and Lampard aren't the worst. You're speaking out of emotion there.
Solskjaer v ETH? No contest. Couldn’t agree more with Simon.
He started great but I’m starting to loose confidence in his style of play because we can’t win away… Ole had the most away wins in a row ever!
We have played too many games, and since most of our key players are ageing it's showing. Bruno has played too many games that he is fatigued and ETH can't risk starting someone else. Lets hope we have good team next season.
Away wins when theres no fans is hard to count

What's this TV show they are on about? What channel and when is it on?
Ten Hag is overrated.
Only Man Utd fans think he's a world class manager.
The only credentials he had to get the job in the first place was winning the same trophy as Steve McLaren (the Dutch League).
The only thing he's won since is the same trophy as Steve McLaren (League Cup).
If Steve McLaren can win them, then how hard can it be?
Steve McLaren's achievements were actually MORE impressive, winning with Twente and Middlesbrough, as opposed to Ajax and Man Utd.
He is not world class and shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as Pep and Ancelotti. I am hugely disappointed in the lack of progress in creating a style of play. We went through a small period where I saw progress but that has faded badly. He certainly deserves another season but he needs to deliver a better, more consistent style of play.
Can you say same about Ole? You must be on some high stuffs
Steve mcclaren >>>> overrated ten Haag
Only rivals will say no. Hes done a great job in his first season. Kept us competitive in all comps. Won us our first trophy in a while. Improved individual players. Handled multiple problems off the field correctly such as greenwood, sancho and ronaldo and considerably improved the culture at the club. Just needs time to sign players that suit his style of play.

Is this even a debate? ETH just helped us get our first trophy in years, we're in the FA Cup final, and we're looking like we're gonna get UCL football. He's brought in some of the most effective players we've had for a long time, and he's brought out a great form in players like Rashford, Fernandes, AWB and Shaw. He's shown us great development with youngsters like Garnacho and Pellestri, and we're playing a new style of football that we're adapting pretty well to, albeit with a fair few knocks along the way. And he's only been here for just over a year.
Give him a few more years and really back him in the transfer window. Personally I think we have a really good foundation to build on, and if this man is allowed to do what he wants to do, things. could really start looking up for us.
Anyone who even poses this question doesn’t watch Man United games and doesn’t understand context - injuries, extreme fatigue etc.
tbf, solskjaer didnt buy Pogba, he dropped Lingard. These two would no doubt leave end of last season no matter who was the manager. Ronaldo was bought by the hierachy and chose to leave on his own. Ten Hag didnt "deal" with it. So how is it that the culture was getting out of hand? Rashford's improved form may be down to his aspiration to go to the World Cup, as opposed to the Ten Hag's improvement on the player. How it is that Sancho has not really got it going then? Solskjaer didnt miss the penalties against Villareal. I think having Ten Hag is okay, but dont make it sound as if solskjaer really stunk the place out. Casemiro and Erikssen were the great additions this season that Solskjaer didnt have. He was only relying on Fred and Mctominay on sometimes Matic. Would be interesting to see how Ten Hag does with those two for a season. Solskjaer's mistake was spending 80 mil on HM, and when his form dropped - to still continually playing him. Tactically, even if he was really clueless and inept, but dont forget there was an experienced Phelan and the now highly rated Carrick by his wings.
solskjaer bought dan james, maguire, sancho, telles and van de beek, all of them flops, he was way out of his depth
Solskjaer was never that guy in the first place.
Took a few years for the nostalgia merchants to realise that.
Rewriting history now i see. Ole should have been appointed in the first fucking place. He didn't miss the penalties but it shouldn't have gone to penalties by then. He didn't substitute for entire 90 mins because he's a clueless buffoon. He stunk the place he brought the standards down singlehandedly. How's he enjoying unemployment now? This idolisation of mediocrity just because adore him need so stop. Keep him as your child's football coach not Manchester United's. He's that level anyways.
@@TribalScan. He was, just that his recruitment was absolutely rubbish. How on Earth could he let Herrera go!?
Solskjaer wasn't far off achieving great things at United. People were out to jump on him as he was perceived as too nice for the job.
He was awful.

Spot on mate, spot on.

I can’t even believe this is a topic to be debated. Did ole win a trophy as united manager? Simon is spot on… on everything.
He also lost 13-3 on aggregate at Anfield and the Etihad. I think Ole was tactically better at winning against the odds but Ten Hag's plan A and B might be better to be honest and fair.

This has got to be the thickest debate I’ve heard this season we play better under ten hag we’ve had a few injuries, bad performances, tiredness and we have lots of players that need to be axed but ten hag has overachieved with a lot of this squad (regarding depth such as playing with no striker since January)

Man Utd finished with 13, 14, 16 and 10 loses a fair few times under the great Sir Alex Ferguson between 86/87 and 88/89 into the 90s who then went on to become the greatest football manager of all time and lead the club into persistent victory. Put any manager in after Solksjaer and give them 220m, including a multiple league and champions league winning Casemiro you'd be hard pressed to find a manager that would have done a worse job than what Ten Hag has done. Finishing 4th is the bare minimum yet muppets like Gary Neville think he's in for a shout for manager of the season. Absolute delusion.
Rather than judging Ten Hag against an amateur like Solksjaer maybe open your eyes and judge him on the laughable 7 nil at Anfield. The guy is a Southampton level manager, he's the managerial equivalent to Jaden Sancho, a complete white elephant. He'll be gone in 18 months.
It's mad that no one has clipped this. Simon called ETH a winner
Totally agree simon
What an absolutely ridiculous topic. Ten Hag is improving players all over the pitch since he came in. Ole, while i love him as a united legend, was not a coach and didnt have the balls to drop utter shite like Maguire
I agree with you, but there's a huge difference between dropping a player, and having the board force you to play their most expensive signing. Marcos Rojo confirmed he was dropped to accomodate for Harry Maguire purely because he cost the club so much.
Its his first season guys. Give him time to settle.
Give him time to bottle. About three more weeks to be exact 😂
To even have this as a topic shows someone just comes up with this things while taking a dump..
The only way Man United will really progress is to get rid of the cowards, the fair-weather players and get a new captain.
Then you have to change the whole team except casamiro
ETH is clearly a better coach than Solskjaer any fool can see that but to quote Simon “he’s not backing the courage of his convictions.” DDG a prime example, he doesn’t fit his style at all but apparently he’s getting a new contract. Maguire is still the “captain” incredibly even though he doesn’t play. Rashford plays every minute regardless of form and seems to get away with shooting from all angles to the detriment of the team. Ten Hag needs to start being a lot more ridged in his philosophy or he’s destined to fail sadly.
These aren't ETH players, ETH came in the semi final with a 18year old de ligt as captain
The biggest crime by far that Ole was responsible for was Manu losing games at home to Liverpool 5-0. And these sort of beat downs occurred so frequently that they have bled into this season. Old was responsible for a kind of mental rot. A team that had no fire or fight when the chips were down. There was nothing wrong with finishing third or second. I don't think Manu fans had too much of a problem with that. But Manu losing at home 5-0 to Liverpool - allowing that to be a possibility for a club like Manu - is unforgivable, and that's why he had to go.
Ole is special it was the cpt. Maguire who defended horrific before the day he got fired😄
Tbh i really don't see a improvement so far..
Yes utd won the efl cup,in the final of the fa cup and currently top4..
Meanwhile ole got to a European final..
4 semi-finals..
A 2nd & 3rd place finish..
Lastly the only positive ive seen from Ten Hag is discipline & culture...
3 qfs: fa cup, ucl, uel
And that won you him a trophy right?
The fact that this is even a worthy of a debate 😂😂
The fact your goal difference is usually good for 9th 😂😂
@@seltonk5136 But we’re not 9th are we?
Any other irrelevant stats up your ass? 😂🙈
Not a United fan, but they are headed in the right direction.
Ten Hag also won 38 matches in one season, which is the first time after Sir Alex. You cherry-pick stats to make anyone look good or bad. The fact that the British media is comparing Ten Hag and Ole is absloute nonsense.
Ole won nowt ,eth won 1 .. ask united fans ole was just a cheer leader eth is a proper coach .
Most the same players are still there who through a few managers under the bus and stopped playing they look to be doing the same again
No they aren't, you're just parroting what Roy Keane said about Ole. No one is throwing Ten Hag under the bus. They just aren't scoring goals because of the striker issue, and the fact that the goalkeeper is crap with the ball at his feet, and is prone to high profile errors.
Simon is absolutely spot on.
Mourinho still did more for United with less and he is demonized, while Tan Hag is praised.
??????
Sorry this whole thing is ridiculous. Not a single rival & only a minuscule amount of pundits gave United a hope of top four in the Summer & the same goes for them winning a trophy. Ten Hag is still on for both, maybe even two trophies. This considering he's had a mad amount of injuries & suspensions to contend with this side of Xmas, nothing but problems in the striker position all season & is currently playing without both his first choice CBs. People are acting like top four is gone already, typical fickle football fans jumping the gun. United are still odds on favourites for top four. It's hilarious how eager media & rivals are to pull down every United manager. All I see on social-media the last couple of days is very selective stats trying to paint Ten Hag as though he's inferior to Ole whilst ignoring very obvious things like Ole won nothing in three years & Ten Hag has already won something in his first season with a chance for a second trophy in the same season as well as the fact he's only three points off Ole's first full season tally with four games to play. Absolutely laughable you people are. Ten Hag is outdoing all your expectations & you're still trying to do mental gymnastics to try to pull him down. Embarrassing.
Mad amount of injuries? He recently just got some, and that is because he hasn't rotated very well, yet still have 100s of millions of players on the bench. LFC and Chelsea have had 10 injuries all season. 10 home draws against beatable opposition in the cup is more FAs doing than Ten Hag. The striker position is partly his fault, by sending the last season's top scorer to the bench, and prioritising players that downed tools last season, while Ronaldo could hold his head up high.
And the biggest defeat in 93 years to their biggest rival that has had their worst season in years.
@@janniknielsen9292 You know how simple people like you are? Your boyfriend Ronaldo is finished & we are having a lot better a season thanks to him not being here, meanwhile he's turned the best team in Saudi Arabia to the second best in Saudi Arabia. Chelsea spent 600M & have a huge squad, Liverpool have an established team & manager yet can't even get above a United team coming off their worst ever PL season with a new manager who's had a whole load of issues to solve. Ten Hag deserves a medal next to their embarrassments of a season. Eriksen was out for two months, Garnacho has been out a couple of months, Casemiro has missed 7 league games since February through suspension, Martial is always injured, both CBs are injured, Shaw was injured for a few weeks. Your bitterness towards United makes you sound silly.
@@janniknielsen9292 Nothing to do with rotation when his players are getting impact injuries for awful scissor tackles, you wetty. Even Martinez' injury was a metatarsal and could happen to literally anyone...
No progress, the numbers don’t lie. ETH is about the same as OGS
He’s changed utd
+8 GD 😂😂😂 what a revolution you are witnessing
ETH with a proper striker would have been closer to the 2nd in the league.
During Ole time it was the start of the pademic. On many of those away games Ole Uinted fell behind 1 or 2 goals and they only came back in those games because there was no away fans who make it very hard for teams to come back. If there were fans in the stadium United would never have come back in those games. Look at when United played in the europa league final and could not beat a average side.
Ten Hag has ready one trophy in the bag. Ole won sod all. Possible 2nd if we beat city in fa Cup final. Ten Hag needs backing as he has the ability. Lots of older players still here from previous managers.
Absolute yes. Just wait for him to work with the players more on training rather than playing every other day and we will see even more improvement.
Ole finished second. Europa league final. So far, Ole is better, IMO. But ETH can move ahead of him if things improve next year.
Ten Hag Manchester United[37] 23 May 2022 Present 57 38 8 11 winrate 66.7 %
Solksjaer Manchester United 19 December 2018 21 November 2021 168 91 37 40 winrate 54.17
Ole had Ronaldo playing well for him, while Ten Hag managed to make Ronaldo hate him.
The only stat that matters is silverware. Ole won nothing
My opinion is that THag made a mistake with not giving progression to the young talents available to him in anticipation of more games to play. You don’t put them on reserves and not use them and by not using them they won’t improve and have that confidence to play when needed. Treating his first 11 as robots was his mistake. Robots don’t get injured and tired. Giving Weghorst preferential treatment undermined those players more capable of progressing if given the play time he afforded Weghorst. Benching Pellistre when he clearly was better at running thru players and the only player who passed the ball had been a mistake. Tactically, we need to question him. Clearly, he doesn’t know how to react when opposition score first. Why?
ETH has the most wins since the 11/12 season. Where's that statistic? Ole had more draws than wins. Ole played defensive football and hoped for individual brilliance.
This is a none debate
This ole has less losses than ten Haag is taken so far out of context yes ole in 19/20 20/21 had less losses but those were his 2nd and 3rd seasons in the job (2018/2019 he took over as interim in December so he was manager for 6 months before his first full season) if we get new owners and ten Haag can continue building the squad that he needs to compete then we will progress
When the ball goes out the pitch stop the clock it’s simple! Then we don’t need to add extra time on
Everton will stay up but it would be better for their fans if they go this season. They are a mess and things are only going to get worse. Everton for the last few years have been bailed out by individuals and those individuals aren't going to stick around to scrap at the bottom of the league. The squad needs major surgery but there's no Lukaku or Richarlison to fund summer transfers and I don't see why Moshiri would plough his personal fortune into the club. Players will stop renewing their contracts, they'll be forced to sell their best players and no one decent will want to sign for them. This is a mess years in the making and chickens will come home to roost eventually.
Erik ten hag has done better in his first season than Guardiola, Klopp and Arteta.
Since the injuries and suspensions to key players we've gone right off the boil but over the last 3 or 4 seasons United have been atrocious in the run in..
Over two seasons. That's some stat manipulation. Ten hag Is best manager for us right now. Rid of player power. None of that at city and they have a ridiculous squad.
SIMON I LIKE how you spoke abouut AUBA. Simon for Prime minister
Seriously We comparing both omg
I hate arguments like this. Erik ten hag inherited a mess (tbf, so did Ole). However, Ole was drowning. I love the guy but just because he cared for the club, and is a legend, doesn't mean he should be the manager. The culture at the club had got worse the longer he was there, and to be frank, Ole didn't have the CV to merit getting that job.
Ole literally didnt coach the players he openly said that on record, I dont know how this sh1t gets airtime at all. Comparing Ten Hag is actually disrespectful. Remind me where Ole is working now?
those comments by jordash probably reinforces why he failed as an owner, as is better being this know all shock jock.
I'm all for giving ETH time but some Utd fans are delusional re to the 'progress' this season. We are scrapping for 4th in a season where Spurs Liverpool and Chelsea have taken a season off. Won the Haribo cup I'm not bothered about that. Let's see how the season ends and if he can punt the deadwood and get some quality players in ...
