    Thankyou Geoff. Just shipped mine over to Thailand and not really used it for two years.
    Set it up and it was giving me rim shots all over the pads. I thought it was f....d. Then I found your video and it solved all my problems. Many thanks.

    Geoff, thank you very much for your clear and easy to digest explanation of the TD-12. I've been playing the factory settings for four years, that's right 4 years! Finally decided to venture in further and your instruction is a great kick start for me. Much appreciated.

    Q: I recently changed my snare mesh head (pd 105 with td 12 module) and now my xstick doesn't work at all. I tried adjusting the rim settings and xstick threshold, but still nothing. Any suggestions?

    I bought my dream td30k kit 2 months ago am excited about it's musical capabilities! I've seen all of the Roland videos and plus some but have not been able to see anything on the "pattern sequencer" functions and capabilities! Also there are a number of really cool preset "kits" that have triggered "loops", "single shot and taps". I'm alittle confused as to which triggers work for what! Please advise!

    However, i cant figure out how to reconfigure cymbals.
    What i want is simply to change ride to crash, and crash to ride. How is that done?
    Help would be much appreciated.

    hello! I recently bought this battery model and there are some things that I have not been able to adjust, and looking to adjust them I changed others and I don't know how to put them back to the way they were, anyway The first thing I notice is that the snare and grenadier drums are different from the other two, and their sensitivity is different. They do not register the blows well if, for example, I want to do a roll and the other thing that happens is that the blow only registers them in the center, which does not happen with tom 1 and 2 How can I change these settings? This information is really worth gold and I would really appreciate it, thank you!

    Hi, nice video. I'm confused about user kits and where they are stored. Or does the module only have 50 kits that can be modified? I thought there would be preset kits, and a growing collection of user kits.

    Amazing video! I have a question on the bass drum: I’m using this module on my acoustic bass drum, one trigger only for the kick. Now, I’m having additional, unwanted, low volumes sounds and beats while I hit other drums. I’m not sure what are the main features that I need to adjust on my kick trigger. Do I just bring down sensitivity, and threshold?
    How about the scan time and retrig…I think those unvanted beats come also from the vibration of the head after each kick, any advice would be much appreciated.

    Hi Geoff! I'm thinking about buying a TD-12 kit or a TD-15. Witch one is the best? Another question: can I use VSTs with this module (TD-12) on a macbook with IOS 10.14?
    I have a midi-usb cable from m-audio.
    Thanks a lot!

    Hey Jeff, I love your vids because you actually explain the tech. You do that on this video. You've also done it with calibrating the hi hat.
    I have a TD-50 an TD-12. I know how to update the software on the TD-50 but I'm not clear if you can/how to update the software on the TD-12. Can I update the software on the TD-12?

    • @GeoffFryDrummer
      @GeoffFryDrummer  Před 7 lety +2

      thanks Gary, yes you can update the pre usb models like the td12. you need a piece of software available on the roland website, and a midi cable from your pc to the module. I am pretty sure instructions are on the website. I would like to do a td-50 how to in the near future.

    Geoff, I bought a Strike Pro kit a year after they hit the market. I spent so much time trying to get the settings correct that I gave up on the module entirely! Trying to use their manuals & videos was useless (poor or no explanations) regarding triggers settings etc drove me to purchase & replace the Strike module w/ a used TD-12 module (I had a few Roland module's prior). NIGHT & DAY difference! Roland's manuals & your videos have made drumming fun again. I have only 1 question, I'm not sure how to achieve the correct cymbal trigger settings in the TD-12 using the Strike Pro's pads. No videos at all on CZcams. Would you know any generic settings that could get me close?? Thanks

    My daughter has recently been 'adjusting' things. Now when I hit the ride I get the snare. If I change it to a ride and exit, and I hit the snare, I get a ride. I've reset to F5 defaults but it's still there. Any ideas?

      My loud sound becomes a rim sound when i am definitely just hitting the head. For now I've just made the rim sound the same sound as head to stop random tone samples at least, but it's not ideal. I'll never get a cross stick at this rate either lol. What settings would you recommend for this old Snare to produce a click, and a rim shot only when i hit the rim?

    greetings hello !! if you show step by step what changes in the given appendage, you can really help a lot of people, I can not interpret 0, 0000000000000101%, or use it properly, so I think it would make sense to go through what is worth noting! The Roland module has a voice probation problem, the one in general is looking for cause and effect. so what's changing, what's changing, what's the difference, etc., so are these videos, as if you're trying to play luck too

    • @martijnvanbeek4387
      @martijnvanbeek4387 Před 2 lety

      No, you can't although you can have a MIDI cable (Roland UM one eg) and hook it up to an external sound card (Focusrite or some other) and have a VST drum program to do the triggering instead of the TD12.

      @@maeu59 I honestly don't even know. I use the td12 and plug my kick into the kick input. So whatever is standard for that year. I knew so little about Roland going in that I didn't know what any of those pads even were or what they meant. I learned what all the metrics meant, then I plugged my pad in and one by one adjusted them (most I left alone) until I was satisfied. Every once in a while I'll make some adjustments as I learn more and learn what to listen for
