HI FRIENDS AND HAPPY SPOOKY SEASON! I feel like you can always spot a theatre actor at a costume party because they’re the ones who are WAAAY to into it- ya know what I mean?
Since this is our first halloween video this season, I thought we would make a little more interesting. And by interesting, I mean realistic.
For today’s video, I going to Thrift Broadway inspired halloween costumes. I’m allowed to use stuff I already have, BUT I’m going to give myself a $10 limit per costume to complete the outfit. AND if I need to fix or alter the costume pieces, I’m only going to give myself 20 minutes.
So this is the video for you if you’re short on time and cash- which let’s be real, that’s like everyone.

Ooh, I put my Veronica cosplay together at a thrift store! I got my blazer for probably $5-$10, and my skirt was only a dollar! And another broadway cosplay that might be easy/fun to find at a thrift store is Mrs. Lovett. All you’d need is a muted green 3/4-sleeved shirt, white apron, long skirt, and a rolling pin!
You know what’s really fun? Theatre major Halloween parties. It’s like one over-excited theatre kid, but it’s everyone! Also, very happy for the quick and easy distinction! Great video!

I’m being a newsie for Halloween! I’m so excited! I love Halloween
I love how easily you can tell you're a theater kid too because of your facial expressions and movements
I really love that red blazer, like I need one.
I thrifted my last three halloween costumes for the most part! The first was Rey from Star Wars, where I used a curtain for the sash things, and got some PVC pipe stuff and paint to make the staff! Just needed a bit of velcro and a bit of sewing help from my mom and I was good. Then the next year, I made the Spider-Man Homecoming suit! I got some sweatpants I knew I could wear after that (I still do!) and I cut the sleeves off a red zip up, sewing some blue sleeves to match. A bit of black paint to make a spidey logo, some knee high red socks, and I was golden! This past year I was Anya from Anastasia, and that costume was 99% thrifted. Two skirts layered on top of each other, super cute brown boots, a brown jacket, a peasant blouse, and then my dad's belt and a fake braid hairpiece and I finished! It's always so fun piecing the costumes together!
These costumes are all so cute!!! Last year I did a Race costume from Newsies and I thrifted some of my stuff. It was a lot of fun!
