in middle school, we did a production where one of the numbers was a dance on rolling desk chairs with desks on top of them. mind you there were only 4 people on stage for this part. we almost rolled off the stage multiple times, ran into each other the whole time, and were a mess to the point we couldn’t even finish the dance because we were laughing so hard...

I played rapunzel in my schools production of into the woods last year. I had never been in a musical before so I wasn't used to props and on the second night i forgot my fake braid so the bakers wife ripped off the real wig and I had to just play it off even though I'm not a blonde 😓

I did 13 to, and I played Cassie. I have a story for you. So during Getting Ready, some tech people had to wheel on Kendra’s bedroom so that Kendra and Lucy could have their thing. What we didn’t know was that the platform they were on wasn’t locked in. So Lucy goes to get a hairbrush on the nightstand, and she falls off the platform. She lands flat on her face and she gets a heavy going nose bleed. So when we went on for Any Minute, blood had to be cleaned off the seats. Iconic

I was playing Vivienne in Legally Blonde and I was late to get on stage for the proposing scene. The rest of the cast was great and used their awesome improv skills to say that Vivienne was at Starbucks. Warner had to run off stage to get me, and I was completely flustered when I got back on stage. I was so embarrassed but luckily it was the night nobody I knew was there, and not the one that was recorded.

I was in a play called “An Inconvenient Corpse”, and there was a scene where a reported goes to angrily storm out of a courthouse, and he/she (he was played by a girl) grabs onto one of the door handles in the back, yanks it off, shouts “Damn it!”, and then leaves. So on our last night, everything was going as planned, she grabbed the door handle, shouted, and then went to open the door. As she grabbed the real handle, she pulled too hard and YEETED the second one off, and then stumbled backstage. I was backstage at the time, so I couldn’t see the whole thing. It wasn’t until she was backstage and holding up TWO handles that everyone silently died laughing.
Throughout the whole show, people kept making jokes about the missing handles. Then, near the end, the sheriff escorts out a girl named Mimi. As they go through the door, the sheriff grabs onto the handle on the inside that we used to close it, and trips. He pulled off the handle on the INSIDE TOO and dragged Mimi in as well. I was positioned to where I could see it perfectly, so I said “The other one too! This whole town is fallin’ apart!”
Everyone broke character and couldn’t stop laughing for like half a minute, my friend and I had a line, but we couldn’t stop laughing, so she held up a book in front of her face. We eventually made it through, and it is now forever immortalized in our recording of that nights performance.

Elizabeth Stage I was in that show too, but I think my biggest mishap was not getting in place in my full costume. I was Elle’s father and one of the admissions guys, so if you remember What You Want, there is about a minute of song between Elle’s dad leaving and the admissions scene. I hadn’t learned underdressing very well, so I decided “that’s enough time to change from boat shoes, blazer, polo, and golf pants into a THREE PIECE SUIT WITH BOWTIE AND BLACK SHOES”.

I was also in Legally Blonde once, and one of my 7 roles was DA Joyce Riley (the one who asks Nikos about the thong) So, I had all of Bend and Snap to change from a dress into a FULL SUIT and I can’t have my mic under my shirt, it has to be over my shirt and under my suit jacket because I have to give Elle’s Dad the mic directly after my scene. But, I accidentally had the mic under my dress shirt so I had to unbutton, take out the mic, button it back up and put my jacket and shoes on. By then I was late to be on the set, and I have to bring the stenographer podium. So, the line before My happens as I’m running on stage with my SHOES HALF ON and I do my part later than I should’ve but we got through it and it was awful.

Ok, I've got 4 theatrical mishaps.
    1. I played "Kate" in Annie, and I accidentally went onstage with my glasses on.
    2. I was a wolf in Beauty & the Beast, and I was supposed to jump onto the Beast during that one scene everybody should know when the Beast gets hurt, and when I landed safely on the ground, my wolf mask flipped off my face.
    3. Not technically me, but still worth mentioning, my sister and I both played "Ladahlord" in James and the Giant Peach, and when we were dancing on stairs, my sister tripped on the stairs as I sang the words, "A magical trip"
    4. I played "Young Simba" in the Lion King, and everytime we performed the gorge scene, I couldn't help but laugh because it was funny to me.

Alright, so in the scene, before the scene where Kurt and Ram get shot in heathers (the one where Veronica calls the jocks to "seduce" them) we had this phone we were supposed to use to answer Veronica. It had always been on this movable dresser thing. Unfortunately, our director moved it last minute, and we had no idea where it was. After like ten seconds I just said "screw it" and made a phone with my hand (you know with your thumb and pinky finger) and did the whole call like that. Luckily, the audience thought it was hilarious, and I got complimented on my improv skills, so that's cool

This was also the audition cut that I had ruled out immediately because it didn’t fit my voice. I was also really nervous and it just wasn’t a good combination. My body was just like HA! I’m gonna make you forget how to breath! So during the entire cut I was just gasping

Ok this is mine (it's really my fault but it was still embarrassing): I was sharpay in our school musical (I go to a REALLY small school) and since it was junior high we did the jr version. In the junior version Zeke (the kid who likes sharpay) smacks the pie in sharpays face during status quo. Backstage before it happened someone was putting the whipped cream inside the pie pan. They filled the ENTIRE thing. So we do the part and he realizes there is way too much and tried to not splash it everywhere. It has to go in my face. We had to do this is our church (small catholic schools lol). So we did the part and my entire dress, my hair, my face, and the people around me got splashed with whipped cream. My mic which I moved out of the way was covered. I have to scream after it so I kinda push it off my face and scream and run off to wipe all of it out. Everyone on stage and in the audience gasped because there was SO much whipped cream. It was crazy. I had to change into a different costume because my costume was drenched. Intermission was right after that so my friends in the show, and I ran to the bathroom that wasn't the one the audience went to. I had to wash my hair with the hand dryer and I was soaked. I was sticky and my hair smelled like whipped cream for the rest of the day. So that was my story 🤭😂

my worst onstage mistake is the time i forgot my entrance _multiple times_ in our show of curious savage. if you don’t know, it’s a play about a woman hiding bonds from her three evil stepchildren and they put her in a mental institution and high jinks ensue. i played mrs. paddy, a woman who hates everything in the world, most of all electricity (she gave it up for lent and is constantly turning off lights) and only speaks to say the things she hates. she also paints the worst picture of oceans, even though she’s never seen one.
we were having a show where nothing went right. our hannibal forgot his cards for an important scene and they had to improvise with newspaper. our set crew didn’t move the thumbtacks back to their original spot for my scene involving them so i had to _get up_ like three lines before it started. our doctor emmet forgot her line about kicking the children out and there was a long pause of silence, it was awful.
but our lilly belle forgot a line and cut out a whole scene by accident. she hadn’t even realized until she got backstage and someone told her. she was super upset and i was helping comfort her until i hear all these lines being said that i needed to be on stage for. so i tried as smoothly as possible to slip back through the curtain. i also low key missed my entrance at the end of act two which _sets the climax in motion_
anyway, i’m an idiot and it was terrible

I performed in Frozen and it was the scene whenever Hans gets punched in the face. Hans would fall backwards and someone else (let's name her Emily) and I had to catch him so he wouldn't fall. Emily and I would drag him off stage. The thing is, we would have to rush back onstage to deliver some lines. So, Emily gets back on stage, but I can't. You see, other people had to be onstage for the NEXT scene, and they were blocking the curtain entrance. I'm literally whisper-shouting at them to move, but they were too busy watching the show that they've already watched 3 times. I finally get on stage after nudging them out of the way. It was too late to deliver my lines, so I just came on awkwardly...welp.

My class are studying for a sociology exam” and I found out afterward someone had told her “you can’t go in there, they’re doing an exam and it’s being filmed” and she said “well my class are doing sociology” and just walked past her, she tried to ruin our exam just to spite us for making noise, she’s never complicated before and we’ve never screamed during that scene except for once when we stayed hours after class to rehearse so we knew we wouldn’t disturb anyone, luckily everyone stayed in character and when she left we finished the piece and we all passed, but we could have had to resist the exam just because she couldn’t handle some noise for a few minutes

Ok so one of my favorite theatre oopsies that happened to me was when I was in a production of Mary Poppins. So this is our dress rehearsal but with an audience, to explain we do a test run with our city’s elementary kids for one of our last dress rehearsals and in the scene mr. banks is supposed to get down this vase from the shelf and then says a line and I come through the door and i break it, but on this night the thing won’t come off, like our mr banks is a strong guy and he almost took off the shelf because it wouldn’t come off and so mrs banks improvised something along the lines of well it’s not much value to us if it’s stuck on our shelf and she dashes off stage and mr banks improvised and jumped ahead to “a man has dreams” and all the while I’m behind the door waiting for my cue.
Edit: I realized that the vases caused a lot of trouble for us in the show because on one of the nights (I think it was like our second show?) during the vase break 1) I hit him in the face with the door and 2) he cut his hand on the ceramic shards so he was bleeding onstage (he kept going though). Ah good memories.

One time during my show of Les Mis in the beginning of the play (where Valjean talks to the farmer) the music tracks just stopped! It was opening night and in the first 5 minutes something went wrong. Luckily our Valjean and farmer improved and so did me and the ensemble behind them. From the audience it probably looked okay, but I could tell that my cast mates were terrified. The music tracks came back on after what felt like an eternity, then everyone ran off stage and we all freaked out.
Also from Les Mis it was the closing night 15 minutes before places and I’m one of the constables so I’m onstage right away, the problem was that I left my jazz shoes at home. I called my dad and he promised to bring them. It felt like forever, and just when I was about to accept going onstage barefoot, he came and gave me my shoes!! I will never leave for theater without checking for them again!

My favorite stage mishap: I was in Guys and Dolls and one of my cast-mates forgot their lines during a performance. Everyone paused for a moment and then I stepped in and saved the scene. During intermission, our director went backstage and thanked me.

I was in my first school play ever, right at the time that dreaded state testing and worrying about grades came into place. I had to remember my lines while studying for end of the year tests, but I tried my best. One of my roles was a mom to one of the main characters that the producer decided to change to a girl. So, on opening night, I say what the original line is... “No, not my son!” And my friend who plays my daughter just looks at me with this face of horror and I just stand there and nobody else is reading their lines. I thought that we would just go on and nobody would notice my mistake, but nooooo! Then everyone started laughing and it was pretty terrible!

    Brace yourself. Long stories ahead.
When I was in third grade I did a show call Once Upon a Crime: The Trial of Goldilocks. I got the part of Goldilocks (who was the lead btw 👏👏) and the play was produced by the theatre company I went to. The owner of the company’s assistant was the director and the owner of the company’s husband was the stage manager and he put the set together. Anyways when they were making the set they put a fake license in a glass case on a set piece that you could roll on and off the stage. Theatre rule for those who don’t know, never put glass on stage. Or liquids but that, my friend, is a different story. Anyways, during opening night, they were rolling off the set piece from the stage as planned when the glass case holding the license fell of the set piece and shattered into a million pieces on the stage. Two seconds after they were supposed to take the piece off, I was supposed to have a monologue in the exact spot there was a bunch of broken shards of glass. The stage manager told me to do it somewhere else on the stage. That same show, when I came off the stage to see my class and my teachers and my mom, my zipper broke and my dress fell open and my third grade selfs back was open for everyone to see. At least it was in the house and not onstage though. That same production but in rehearsals, I was supposed to sleep in baby bears bed under the covers so I was hidden. Anyway, the director was giving critiques or whatever but forgot I was still under the covers so eventually with all the stage lights and being under the hot covers, I passed out. That was a fun production.
When I was in kindergarten I had a role where I had to be blind. Anyway I was to pretend to be blind going onstage but I went a little far and fell off the stage. The worst part was that everyone thought it was staged because I was supposed to be blind.
Btw heathers is my third favorite show ever!

A few days ago, I forgot an entire verse of a song and just did the dance part. my stage partner tried to help me improv my way out but it was painfully obvious.
In Chicago, "Roxie", where the men answer Roxie with "That's right", "Oh yeah", I was one of the few who actually remembered the line, so I would say it loudly. closing night, I yelled "OH YEAH", extremely loudly, as the rest of the cast said, "that's right". I switched them. We had a full house.
Once I forgot like four lines in my solo in You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown, and just sang the beginning of the verse twice. Kms
