You develop one overtime, especially when your voice starts to mature. Until it starts to come you can’t really make yourself do one if it’s not natural. Best of luck! Just keep singing!

Today and yesterday I had a snow day, and since I recently heard that my school is doing theatre productions next year for the first time in (school name) history, so I decided to pour my heart and soul out into a well-structured essay explaining why we should do musicals and why one of the musicals should be Annie because ya boi wants to be in Annie again plus I think it would be good for my school to do, and I made, like, a MILLION points on why we should do it in order to convince them. I'm going to print out the essay and give it to my principal and soon-to-be theatre teacher tomorrow, wish me luck!

I recently was talking to one of my close friends who’s an actress and she encouraged me to audition for a local production of BATB(my favorite Disney movie/musical) and Matilda(she thinks I’d be a good Miss Honey). I'm going to be a freshman next year and I recently auditioned for our high school's select choirs. I made it into our vocal ensemble! There's only 16 kids and the spots are usually reserved for juniors and seniors so I'm very excited! Luckily, 3 of my friends (also freshmen) got in as well! Your videos have really helped me prepare and I'm very glad you're on CZcams! Thanks Kat!

believe me, the process hasn’t changed since then. i had a friend, who’s kind of inexperienced outside of the relm of doing shows at school and doing rock music stuff, audition for colleges this year and he said it was absolutely insane. people will do absolutely anything to get into the programs.
to answer the first question: professional theatre for teens is very difficult to be in, I'll be honest. There is much more interest then you'll think and a ton of people will be crazy talented. The important thing is to remember what makes you stick out from the rest and FLAUNT IT at auditions. They don't take the most talented although that does play a crucial part, they take those who they think have something to offer to their show. So show them what you have to offer! Don't worry about feeling like a show-off. The ones who show off are the ones who are getting in. I'm in a professional show right now (and I'm only 15!) and trust me I saw some crazy stuff in dance call. Some auditioners will literally make time during the dance call for showing off and trust me, they pay attention. If you can do a backflip, frickin do it. If you've got a wicked sense of humor, show it! (although remember what is appropriate). You want to be professional and respectable but you also want to be a powerhouse, an actor who will be a valuable asset to their show.

Love the “how did you find the arts” question so imma answer for myself. I was doing dance since I was two so I have always loved that and then my elementary school started a drama club and I was like “hey that sounds fun plus that’s a jr version of my fav movie (Aladdin). I didn’t get in but I got in the next year and I LOVED IT so now I’m in a community theater version of Aladdin jr so haha elementary school (to be fair all you did was fill out a sheet and they chose random people from those papers but the next year they did an actual audition and I got in [thats also how I found out I was good at acting and singing])
i love you very much and you've helped me by just being a person who knows how the industry and is willing to share your journey and your tips. AND this video made me so happy because i did not know you were Latino and Hispanic. I am Mexican American and I look like I've jumped the border XD and knowing that there are women latinas out there doing this makes me smile every time since I feel like there isn't enough of us on tv or stage.
My experience is that body type can matter, but more in which roles you get, not whether you get roles at all, and it's more the extremes that matter. Mind ye, I always do terrible at auditions. So I founded a theatre company with friends.
I know it's been a year but...QOTD: 3:25 well, from a theatre perspective, I really want to play Belle, for MULTIPLE reasons. Since I can't choose between any of the others, I'll go with her. Love the “how did you find the arts” question so imma answer for myself. I was doing dance since I was two so I have always loved that and then my elementary school started a drama club and I was like “hey that sounds fun plus that’s a jr version of my fav movie (Aladdin). I didn’t get in but I got in the next year and I LOVED IT so now I’m in a community theater version of Aladdin jr so haha elementary school (to be fair all you did was fill out a sheet and they chose random people from those papers but the next year they did an actual audition and I got in [thats also how I found out I was good at acting and singing])
So I heard my school is doing Spring Awakening next year and IM PUMPED

My experience is that body type can matter, but more in which roles you get, not whether you get roles at all, and it's more the extremes that matter. Mind ye, I always do terrible at auditions. So I founded a theatre company with friends.

3:25 well, from a theatre perspective, I really want to play Belle, for MULTIPLE reasons. Since I can't choose between any of the others, I'll go with her. Plus I really feel like my grades would be WAY better if I was Belle lol...

10:12 hmmm....Beauty and the Beast (obviously), I really want to be involved in Mean Girls in some way or another but I have zero role preferences, and I like the idea of being in Into the Woods (either as Red or Cinderella) but I don't think I can handle Sondheim just yet lol (also Nessa in Wicked is technically within a comfortable part of my range, albeit relatively lower, but literally my only reason for wanting the role is that I never have to stand up or dance etc...I'm such a weirdo)
