I was there that day, we were great. Then a week or 2 later when we won in dramatic fashion at Highfield Road I was on the pitch with loads of jubilant Gooners after Paul Mariner scored the late winner.
Travelling back down the M1 we were all convinced that we were going to win the League.

Unusual for Liverpool to be played off the pitch like that - unfortunately, as an Arsenal fan from that period, I knew we didn't have the character throughout the squad to challenge for the title.

Those kits were awesome by both teams. Umbro always made kits to clubs tradition

Listened to this game on radio as a naive 11 year old, and was so so sure Arsenal were going to win the league...
Sadly, the team were nowhere near good enough, way way too inconsistent, capable of beating Liverpool, but also capable of losing to both Oxford and York in both Cups later that season.

Arsenal showed that we weren't intimidated of Liverpool despite the Mersey club dominate football in this country

@@ViceCityDJ Thanks David, just a few seconds after the clip ends I am seen standing at the end of the tunnel. I can see myself a few seconds earlier but it is from a distance. Just would have liked the full version.
