After buying a super cheap Coyote Mustang GT at my local auction, I found out it had a faulty MT-82 Gearbox. A replacement transmission might not be cheap but it is likely the best solution to this issue, installing it though is where you need the right guy for the job...

What Color should we paint the Mustang? Any Graphics???
Keep it the factory color.
Pearl green :>
not blue
No graphics but the color I think you should go with something more crazy
Factory
I appreciate that the $3 transmission fix is a $2,000 rebuilt transmission 😅
Did you see the $3 exchanged though 😂
@@Samcrac Yes but $30/hr for 10 mins is actually FIVE dollars....

Bolt ons you say? Man this project just keeps getting more and more exciting. Can't wait to see what you've picked out for that interior refresh 👀
@10:48 'I used the jack, I used my knee, I used my arms'
Sam, what Mike's really saying is that he used his BRAIN !!!
2 things: 1) I'm glad you have changed from your early videos and focus more on the cars. I enjoy these more nowadays. 2) You've got coin but you keep your videos down to earth and budget focused which is what us regular guys have to do. I can relate. A lot of great self-repair tips.
The only acceptable excuse for Sam not having a lift at this point is that he's secretly building a custom garage...
Oh absolutely. I live near his area and it’s all very huge houses on lots of property that have all shot up in value. Not to mention with the amount he makes from CZcams and connections he would have getting a deal on lifts.
I'd like to think if he can do it with Jackstands then I can as well
Yeah, it baffles the mind that he doesn’t have one by now. Looking forward to the custom garage reveal.
Nah, Sam's just cheap.
@@mebro1610 that is true, and it does lend itself to the theme that "anyone can do this in their backyard or home garage".
I can't wait for Sam to finally get a lift, that's gonna be a really special day and the whole channel's gonna celebrate with him :)
I like the Turbo Mike bits :D got a really good laugh out of me again :D
The barn floor is most likely not able to support a lift. He will most likely need to tear up the existing floor and have a new one that can support a lift poured. He’s not going to find that cheap
This is what makes these videos , they won't be the same if he starts using a lift
@@notanattorneybut2329 what about a 4 point lift? Not as good for most of suspension work, but already handy to plenty of other repairs. As the repairs made in this episode.
Dam I’m here thinking the same thing. I think he just loves crawling into and under tight spaces. His body will change his mind in time. PAIN
As someone who doesn't have a lift, seeing this stuff on the ground makes me feel better about my situation :)
That really made the most sense, getting a rebuilt trans with warranty. That decision makes it even more economical build. Well done Samcrac 😎✌️
Sam your Raycon songs are straight 🔥
That actually makes sense, put the rear main seal on a removable housing, makes a rear main seal swap easy
One of your best videos yet! Loving the way you explain in detail why you upgrade stuff and also how little it costs.
I like the flow of this build series. Smooth, good pace and a lot to see. Looking forward to the next video.
Sam is the only channel in which I never skip his in video ads . Straight fire 🔥
Most Florida mechanics wear flip flops 👍
Truth!
@@Samcrac I'm in NPR. Flip flops are a way of life. In Michigan they weren't so much.
This has to be my favorite project that you have ever done in all the years that you have been putting out videos. After the first video I posted a lengthy response about my love for the mustangs. Of course when I say mustang if it's not a V8 you might as well be driving a Ford focus.
Back when I was racing my fox body I had gotten so good of changing clutches that in less than 1 hour from the time I crawl underneath and come back out I would have it done in an hour or less. I always put the front wheels on a set of ramps I used my shop Jack on the pumpkin of the rear and put some jack stands underneath for safety. And then I went to town. I knew what needed to come off what size socket or wrench I need it and just went to town. Now this was over 30 years ago and what I was able to do I would lower the transmission onto my stomach and chest roll it to the side get out from underneath and pull it the rest of the way out if I was doing a transmission replacement. I would put it back in reverse put the fixed transmission or the original one right back up on my stomach and chest and put it right back in there and fold it right up.
I was doing this so often on friends cars also that out of one of the blown up transmissions I took the front and put shaft and used that to light up the clutches. Never once that I have to stop and unbolt the bell housing to fix the clutch disc. It was perfect every time.
I'd love to see that you replace wearable items. That's the one thing my friends would get mad at me for I would tell them to get these extra parts to have it done while it was torn apart. I explained to them by getting me to do the work you are saving a ton of money and for what it would cost to have it done perfectly you're getting other things replace. Some would do it some wouldn't and the ones who did not when the rear seal for pilot bearing would go bad I would not work on their car. I never charged a friend a single dime for working on their cars. It just seen to be the right thing to do.
I cannot wait to see the next episode. I am really excited to see the finished product. I've been getting the itch to start racing again and if I decide to do it there is no other car that I would do it with than a mustang. I am Ford blue and oval. Even to this day all I own is Fords. Hell my pickup truck is a 1990 F150 4x4 with the 5.0 motor.
Some nice upgrades Sam! It is going to be sooo worth it!
Samcrac videos are amongst the most fun car videos to watch!
😱Not a Super car! What is the world coming to when a youtuber isn't rebuilding a super car! Love it. Keep it up Sam! I'm digging this!
More to come!
This is a very exciting project, very obtainable for most people. And man a lift would make things easier but I agree with Sam view of most at home wrenches don’t have a lift
Samcrac is the king of repairing vehicles at reasonable prices 👏
Nice series on the tired stang! thanks
Huh,Who could have guessed that jack stands would be inconvenient unlike a lift
Hell yeah! Those long tubes are the way to go. The exhaust is gonna sound so good.
That what i like. Some one getting shit fix the smart way & at reasonable price. Great channel.
I love all these french components Sam
Sam, this project is great 👍🥰 and you are putting all the right upgrades on this car... 😲 WOW!!! Love it 😁
always love watching your vids sam
Hi Sam,
I've only had to change one failed spigot bearing in the last 32 years and that was due to an oversight by the owner who fitted a junkyard motor that was sitting out in the weather. I appreciate that other viewers like to see you replacing parts that they themselves might need to change and that it makes good content for the uninformed.
The golden rule in this trade is the less things disturbed, the less things can go wrong, so if it wasn't leaking when you looked at it leave it alone as it is more likely to leak after its been messed around with, especially when using rtv silicon sealer and a claw hammer.
Exactly…. I about puked when Sam dragged a claw hammer and another..WMD under there and started whacking away ….. bet you a bent driveshaft that he’s got a leak now…
Sam, PLEEEEEAAASE get a lift! Unless you have a garage in the works you haven't told us about yet 👀
Great video Sam . Love this stuff
Great job Sam love all your content. I will be i your neck of the woods in a few weeks
great rebuilt, subbed.
Sam spitting that fire in his ad
A simple and effective way to pull a seal is to drill a small hole in it and screw in a wooden screw (or use a self drilling screw) and then pull it with a small crowbar or similar.
Lovely Jubbly Sam, great to see a more normal car on your channel again. It should be White with Ford Blue Stripes.
So when is a car lift manufacturer finally going to start sponsoring you?
We dont have a lift right now : Samcrac 2018-2022.
Nice job on the trans, this is gonna make a fine mustang for you.
Awesome episode!!!!
Hell yeh love these contents keep it going sam
This is a GREAT build!!!!
I get that putting out the details of stuff don't really pop in but I'd like to know where you got your 2k rebuilt transmission but thanks for the great work and showing it being done.
this is one of the most exciting and fun, transformative quick builds in a very long while.
As one of the best automotive CZcamsrs, would a sponsor finanly send a pair of 'quick jacks' and maybe a scissor lift table.! Please! LoL...
Excellent video 👍
Love the preds support! Also I got that same black husky box tool set bought on sale at the Home Depot for $100 . Original $500 value . Nice set to have for the cheap
Love the mustang build
Please keep up the comedy!!!😂😂😂 Love your videos
same problem my mustang 12 GT started having, 5th grind, even with the Barton shifter and bracket, shame because it was such a joy yo drive, and the engine sounded great. Ball joints were eaten up too..
Sam, This is a great rebuild your doing. I think the new shade of Nardo Grey will be a great color. Cant wait to see the next video.
No graphics
I found that the best way to remove the pilot bearing is the hydraulic method. Using wet pieces of newspaper packing it in the hole and tapping it in with a socket extension, keep repeating the packing and tapping until the bearing pops out.
This is a fun project, especially when you consider parts availability. Engine sounds fine to me, rebuilt trans is also a solid choice imo. Your brake upgrade is budget friendly, oh yeah, should be a runner when finished.
I can't watch without constantly thinking about what's her name lol.you the man
So I’ve never seen any of your videos but I just watched the last two and I gotta say, I loved it! The energy, the humour, the car, and just the video in general. Gives me positive vibes.
The only thing that get Sam more excited than finding a bargain solution to a build problem is his step mom.
Love the videos man and gotta love coyote mustangs I love mine
Everyone needs a Mike! I hope you take good care of him!!! :)
Did this same job on a 1988 RX7 Cabriolet. Was able to do the work for the most part by myself and was surprised how easy it was to remove/install. Before that I did a clutch on a probe GT and that was a nightmare to remove lol.
...it was the flow that got me...🤣
I don’t know why skillshare isn’t your sponsor because I learn a lot from you.
Great video
great work
Liking it Sam. Thanks. Great job.
I really like this kind of wrench jobs
Lol, full respect to Turbo Mike, pls send him up here, I have lots of work for him.
I enjoy your videos. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
That trans jack straight outta ACME …. Looks like something Wile E Coyote used to (unsuccessfully) catch a road runner.
rooster wants to be in the video bruh
I love this build
nice project.
9:45 Eric The Car Guy is giving away his lift! You just have to go there and disassemble/take it away yourself!
Don't think the concrete in Sam's horse barn thingo can support lifts right now.
The rap kinda lit 🔥
Good vid Sam
Hey Samcrac, Eric the car guy is giving away a lift by bendpak, I think u need it. Contact him if he still has it, you have to go pick it up though.
Mike is going to be busy.
we all need a youtube channel like this so we all can buy a different car every week
love that rap !!!
Even know your videos are great fun and knowledge provider.....I still miss your step mam on then 😉😉😉😏😏😏
Just gotta say, I like these videos as opposed to the expensive exotic rebuilds. These are the things any joe schmo can do in his backyard.
Sam, I love the new & unfaded Preds shirt. Still looking for that Atlanta Thrashers shirt though!
For yrs I’ve been buying used cars here and there and fixing things on them that really didn’t need fixing, I just enjoy working on cars. I def don’t have the skills yet to do what your doing but I just wanted to let you know, I literally stopped watching tv after I found you on CZcams!! I look forward to every video, thanks again buddy!!
Hi sam good video :)
Keep it up mate👍
Seems you really needed "Step-Mom" to help you with that Pilot bearing.
that rap....wooo that made me feel a lot of different things haha
Keep doing some rap like that😂😂 had me bustin up laughing😂😂
I know you don’t have a lift but in someways it shows you can do it on jackstands with much effort
Thats good you had someome help you bolt on that tranny!! It can be a pain in the rear end with no car lift! Lovin how you're makin the right moves on this king of ponies! Cant wait to see whats next!
Put concrete pad outside with the lift outside this way you can power wash stuff underneath and make it look nice.
Mikes the man
Should have gone with an MGW shifter & Blowfish Racing shifter bracket. I ran that in my 2011 GT & it was AMAZING.
11:00 Sam, you owe Mike $2 more, it's $5 for 10 minutes of work at $30/hr
My 2010 mustang gt took on a 2018 cmax hybrid, my driver's side frame rail went through their driver's rear door and touched the headliner in the center. First time I had ever been knocked out in my 34 years of life.
Oil your rear main seal on the crank side only. It is friction fit for a reason. Don’t lube to install. But do whatever it’s your car.
Sam i like these Mustang videos, i want moooooooooooarrrrrrr!!!!
Huge fan bro
Mike ... what a legend xD
Candy green with silver flake, chrome rims. That would be sharp in the Florida sun!
7 years ago I bought the Ford “Brembos” from autozone for like $200 for my 14 Mustang GT. Definitely the best/cheap upgrade. Then add brembo decals and clear coat lol.
you look good with the haircut, good luck on that Mustang.
Damn that’s a good price my 2007 v6 mustangs transmission rebuild at a shop was a little over that
Damn! I literally spit Dr. Pepper out at the "Crowd-prone" comment!
