Good to see I'm not crazy. I got the Luke/Boba/Command combination and saw three other opening videos which got the same. Seemed to be more than a coincidence.
Opened one Luke so far and definitely didn’t get Boba or Command in that box. Still don’t have any of those. Can also confirm that among family and friends we have compiled 8 mace Windu and 3 Darth Vader. So this may be happening but it’s certainly not universal.
Confirm. We opened like 10 boxes. One case (6 pack) included. I can confirm this feels damn possible, when im looking at my collection now.
I can confirm the combos match my experience with two boxes.
Got 2 Boxes and both were the Boba, Luke, and Command Legendary.
From the one, and possibly only draft in my area, the Legend cards were Falcon, vader and cunning. The box used for prizes had the same three Legend cards.
I did get the Vader, Mace, Vigilance combo and the Avenger, Black One, Devastator combos. But I also got a Agression, Millenium Falcon box, without a Home One.
I also got the Boba/Luke/Command box, but also pulled a hyperspace change of heart - I'm guessing it was in the upgraded uncommon slot.
My 2 boxes matched your patterns (with bonus legendaries in each). I had two Home ones in the same *pack* (one foil), for example.
Regardless, this is only a problem to people that buy single packs online, and may be irrelevant soon as they run out of packs and do a new run that could have different combinations. This is irrelevant to most drafts, to most case collectors (unless they resell 'bad' remainder packs), etc... Sellers already had an incentive to sell the rest of their boosters from a box after they pulled a Vader/Boba/Falcon/Luke.
I can confirm, that I opened 5 boxes and I got 3 times set superlaser, change of heart and force lightning, once set with avenger and black one and cunning in hyperspace and once set with home one falcon and agression. Exactly the same set of legendaries. I got no boba, luke or vader in those 5 boxes. I got no Mace windu i nthose 5 boxes. I got no vigilance in those 5 boxes. Now I know why people are opening complete sets of vader and boba....this is shocking
I got the Superlaser, Change of Heart & Force Lightening combo in my one box, but I also got Command, Home One & Cunning which breaks those other combos
I got: Boba (plus Boba Hyperspace foIL in the same booster, lucky me!), Black One, Avenger.
This is very interesting! If this trend does continue it will certainly impact the market! We will be watching!
I only open 1 box and I get 5 legendaries and those legendaries are in your video. But I think this is a good thing because the vaders a bobas, I thing they are doing this on proporse because they know those cards will be (and they are) very expensive, but in the reallity is, they are more common than we think.
I opened two boxes. The first was Boba, Luke, Command, like yours! The second was Black One, Devastator, Change of Heart, and two Force Lightning (one foil). I'm waiting on a third (and last) box, and I'd really love to get another Boba-Luke box! If I remember, I'll update this with the third box. 💙💛

Basic Legendary Pulls from my 3 boxes.
Box 1 - Vader, Mace, Vigilance
Box 2 - Home One, Superlaser Blast, Aggression, Millennium Falcon
Box 3 - Avenger, Devastator, Cunning
Buddy and I opened four boxes, I had the Black One, Avenger, and Devastator in one, he had the Home One, Falcon, Aggression in one and the Superlaser, Change of Heart, Lightning combo in the other.
I have arranged my cards recently, by color and by number (and normally straight out of the display without having changed the order) and for the communes, in addition to having some of them much more often I have the impression that there is one pattern per color. for example if I isolate the color blue to put it together there is a card at the end of the number, for example blue card 75 and then the next one will be at the start of the collection like blue card 35 and so on and often with a repetition on the same card. I don’t know if it's clear. there may be something to check or it was pure chance..

I looked over pics I took of my boxes and reviewed a few others across a couple of discords. I see the same clusters happening pretty frequently. I also noticed I have yet to find a box where 2 of the 3 aren't represented. I'm wondering if when a box hits 4 Legendries the pattern advances by 1. So the legendries all stay in the same order but the grouping shifts 1 either way? Haven't looked into it much beyond that but if that is the case it may be possible to figure out the actual order that they come in.
Interesting theory! I actually opened a few more boxes today and I finally hit a case where the patterns were different. I only opened 3 boxes from that case and two of them matched exactly. The patterns that matched were also 2/3 of a previous one, but the other pattern was very different.
Something like this seems pretty likely and would explain why people are noticing patterns but it only really starts to show when you order all your boxes from one source.
Yes, I got all mine from the same place. As mentioned in the video, I believe there was a run where this happened and anyone who got boxes from the same distributor around the same time might have gotten boxes similar. For the record, I have gotten a large amount of boxes from the same source for many other games, and this is NOT normal.
Well at least I know what to look for as I search for Vader and Luke combo boxes.
Saw this yesterday and noticed the booster box had previously opened did get Home One, Millennium Falcon, and Aggression. When I opened a box today... first legendary I saw was Command, and sure enough got both Luke and Boba Fett by the end.
I opened 1 box, got a Vader + Windu + Vigilance. At a sealed event I found an Avanger, the guy opening opposite of me found a Black One. Waiting for feedback if anyone had a Devestator or Cunning

The legendaries out of my 1 box - Luke Skywalker, Home One, and Aggression.
I got a Vader. I got a Mace Windu. I didn't get a single Vigilance, Boba Fett or Millenium Falcon! I also, only bought 2 full boxes and a 3rd box (separately buying packs). I don't know how in the world you people can afford to buy and open more than that! $300 is a car payment!

I was on track with Force Lighting and Super Laser Blast, but then I got a Command and then got lucky with a Devastator Hyperfoil too
I've opened 7 boxes from 3 differant stores and just about all my legendaries match up like this. I'm also missing 3, Luke, Boba, and Command. Seems like there is something here.
I'm just another data point, but...
I opened a box plus two prerelease kits before seeing this video. I had a Boba, Luke, and Command in my collection (an Avenger and Devastator as well, but I couldn't be sure those weren't in my prerelease kits) and this seemed very plausible.
Having watched the video, I was very interested to open a second box that arrived today.
Millennium Falcon, Vigilance, Aggression... Which is not one of the groupings you have here.
In addition, Hyperspace Luke (in the same pack as the Falcon), Hyperspace Foil Change of Heart, and Foil Darth Vader.
This leaves me with two thoughts. First, maybe your "rip til you hit" method influences this to the extent of, "in any 3 consecutive boxes in a production run you get one of X possible combinations".
Second, If a malicious reseller opens pack 1 of a box and they hit a Superlaser and decide to sell the rest of the box, it seems like those remaining packs could still contain a foil Vader.
I do understand I'm just talking about a single box, and maybe I'm the 1 in 12 you've already seen here.
Finally, thanks for the video. This was a very responsible way to disclose these findings and is an important concern for anyone purchasing sealed product. I hope you do a followup with more data points in the future.
Your collation issues would be happily taken by most people in the community. My boxes repeated Black One, Devastator, Avenger, Cunning and occasionally the Millennium Falcon...I did get one Luke and Boba though...would gladly trade my pile of Black One, Devastator, Avengers for your middle row or Vader piles any day.
I totally understand that feeling! However the issue isn’t necessarily about which cards are being grouped, just that grouping is happening for me.

The game has a lot of conserns. Hope we get to see a second set that will improve in the current flaws of the collecting side of the game. Im more of player that collector but tcgs need both to keep running.

It seemed like set of boxes had this type of thing going on for me.
My pulls aren't much of a sample size, but from my prerelease box, I pulled Devastator and Black One as legendaries, and from my one display box, I pulled Devastator, Black One, and I think Command. So it does indeed seem that the top left 4 cards in your video are also collating a bit.
I opened two boxes from the same store bought one week apart. Both boxes were Superlaser, Home One, and Aggression.
Curious if it’s a regional thing? My one box has not followed any pattern from the video. I got Vader, Cunning, Avenger, Windu.
It should definitely be regional. My assumption is that the affected batch were all together and probably went to the same distributor. If this is a widespread issue, you might see similar boxes with people around you though!

idk where you are from but over here in france I got a "Darth Vader" "Mace Windu" & "Vigilance" box also a "Super Laser Blast" "Change Of Heart" & "Force Lightning" and a weird one where i got "Boba" "Luke" and the other one was NOT "Command" (because i have no copy of it) but i don't remember which one, maybe one of the ship.
But anyway, I don't know what to think about that except that it doesn't seems good to see a flaw that big at the start of a new game.
I opened 3 boxes. I had the cunning combo in the first. The force lighting in the second. I did have a vader, falcon and some event in the 3rd

Of the four boxes I opened, I had three of the same groupings you had. The Black One group, the Vader group, and the Falcon group,.
Had the Super Laser Blast triple and Luke and Command but no Boba
Just opened a box with a home one, aggression, and falcon combination, but as I kept opening the packs, I then got a super laser, then a hyperspace falcon, then a foil falcon...3 versions of the falcon legendary and 6 legendary total all in the same box.
I have definitely opened 3 or 4 boxes where I got change of heart, force lightning and laser blast. Sucks real bad.

I've only bought two boxes and they were the Boba/Luke/Command and Home One/Falcon/Aggression boxes. Wild.
I opened 2 boxes. My first box I got that Boba, Luke, and Command, and the second box I got Vader, Mace, Vigilance, and a hyperspace foil Mace.
Hmm, I got superlaser, change of heart, force lightning and a hyperspace avenger (from foil slot i think). The change of heart was bundled with one of the other legendaries.
I opened 3 and didn’t have any of these combos but my brother did have the superlaser, CoH, and lightning.

I just opened 2 boxes I ordered and my 3 legendaries were super laser blast, home one, and change of heart same 3 in each box, I also noticed a lot of the rares were doubled from each box too. The only saving grace from those 2 boxes was a foil Vader and a regular hyperspace Luke. But still the amount of doubles was too much to be coincidence. Especially with the legendaries

Opened 6 boxes, not a single luke or a single emperor (leader) card. That just seems odd.
Cracked four boxes my groupings were the same as yours (Vader x3, Cunning x1)
I opened a case in which each box had a command. I REALLY REALLY wish this had happened to me, because I would have loved 6 copies of Luke and Boba

This seems like a problem for resellers, frustration for collectors, not an issue for the average player. There are only 16 legendaries in the set (you have them all there). They have chosen to distribute them in a 3:3:3:3:4 pattern so that for regular people buying a few packs at a time they will seem randomly dispersed. For someone who is buying a few packs a week this kind of collation issue will be invisible. It will be interesting in Draft to see how people meta play around knowing what the other 2 legendaries in their pod are. It does at least ensure that when you buy a box you wont get a box with no legendaries in it. I think its acceptable for the first run of a game.
You are correct that this isn't really an issue for the average player who buys a box or singles. The main issue is that it leaves the door open for shady people to do shady things, which might not affect most people but it might affect some people. It's not a game-breaking gigantic huge thing, but it's also something that shouldn't have happened in the first place.

I definitely experienced the same thing. Got a case and basically four of the six boxes had superlaser blast, avenger and home one. Happy my last box had boba fett and 4 other different legendaries but it was a bit stressful.
Interesting. My assumption is that although people might have different groupings than I did, their localized group of product will have their own groupings. If you got 4 boxes with the same grouping, then that's another small bit of evidence that this happens.
Not even that, the rares are actually clumped too. In a whole case I only opened one K-2S0 for example but got 5 Agent Kallus, 5 Red Three, 5 Regional Governor, 5 General Krell, 5 Fetts Firespray, 5 security complex, 6 Wedge Antilles, ect. It's not entirely identical from box to box If I remember correctly but yea. I knew the last box was going to be different when I pulled my first and only You're My Only Hope and sure enough it was. I also got about 5+ of all the rare leaders but Palpatine, got 0 of him. In fact, after doing calcluations, 17 out of a possible 52 rares cards comprised of nearly 70% of the rare slots in the case.(not including hyperspace slot or foil rare). I live in Ontario Canada for my region, curious as to everyone elses.@@iopentcgs
I opened 3 boxes. I got the Vader pattern, the super laser group, and one that doesn’t quite fit. My friend legit got boba, Luke, command. Exact match there.
Crazy to see. My son and I only had a small sample with two boxes and 5 prerelease boxes. We ended up getting showcase Leia, Sabine, and Chewbacca. So really skewed numbers (luck) but did not get any Vaders, Boba, or Luke.
Insane luck for the showcases! Sell two and you got a whole playset of Vaders and Bobas!

My case didn't match this pattern, and I opened a complete set from it.
Maybe the early boxes had this issue and they corrected it for later boxes but still sent out the early ones?
I opened 4 boxes. I pulled 5x Devastator 5x Boba 2x Luke 3x Black One 2x Change of heart 1x Super laser 1x Avenger 1x Cunning 1x Command 1x Aggression 1x Force lightning 1x Falcon 1x Windu
I got each of my 4 boxes from a different source. I did have several packs where a legendary would take my third uncommon slot and I would still get a rare in the rare slot.
The third uncommon slot can upgrade to a Hyperspace rare or legendary. They are pretty hard to pull, so you getting multiple in 4 boxes is crazy! It looks like you got 25 Ls in 4 boxes, which is very very much above rate, so I assume you are counting the higher rarity legendaries as well. The groupings I'm talking about are only for the base rarity legendaries.
Interesting . Before seeing this video, I opened three boxes with the following non-hyperspace, non-hyperfoil Legends:

Force Lightning x2
Black One

Aggression
Boba Fett
Millenium Falcon x2
Change of Heart

I then opened one more box with the following non-hyperspace, non-hyperfoil Legends:
Vigilance

The collation definitely seemed to be skewed on your side, but seemed fine on my side. Still, I only opened 4 boxes, and the repetitions in your twelve boxes really seem to lean towards uneven distribution. I think you may be one to something, although some areas, might not be affected.
I don't know - I opened 8 boxes and it all seemed random. This was from 3 different cases. That sucks I hope it's not a big issue.
7 boxes in and have seen the same groupings. Oddly enough i haven't pulled a single chopper either.

I can confirm, I got the Home One, Millennium Falcon, and Aggression one in a Spanish box. This is not good for the tcg.
I got the top left grouping. Kinda damning.
For three boxes and my legendaries were essentially the same.
Got 2 lukes and no boba and 1 command in my box.
I had Black One, Avenger, Devastator, but with Boba Fett instead of Cunning.
After opening some more boxes, it seems like the grouping was Black One, Avenger, and Devastator. I got that combo in a few more boxes. The Cunning was an extra and I think your Boba was extra too! Actually every single box I had 4 base legendaries instead of 3, it was an extra Cunning!
I got Vader and Devastator in my box. So.
I opened 2 cases and got a 3 Luke's and commands but no Boba

On a slightly different note but a similar theme. I’m surprised at how many showcases I’m seeing. Seen loads in my local FB group and even pulled one myself, somehow thought they would be rarer
One in twelve boxes for the biggest hit of a set is actually pretty low and relatively easy to get, but since there are 16 different showcases getting a specific one is super hard! Even in Flesh and Blood where the top chase is 1 out of every 40 boxes, on release weekend you see them everywhere because selling is usually the first thing that comes to mind to anyone that pulls one.
We’ve opened 8 boxes and not seen any of these patterns. Not suggesting you’re wrong somehow, but this definitely is not what happened with our boxes.
Haven't opened a box yet, let alone multiple, but this is concerning, could easily see how this could be abused, opening a box till you get all 3 of the legendaries, then selling the rest of the packets, still unopened, because you know they will be R only, just for one example.
Luckily it's not THAT bad because there is always a chance for an extra foil, hyper, or hyperfoil L. But yes, you can definitely open one L and then realize it's a grouping without Boba or Vader, then stop and sell those packs to others.
Opened 12 and got similar legendary cards repeated. Didn't pull a single showcase either. Seeing FB posts where dude pulled 4-6
