@TheWhills well when vader was $100 and boba $60, just for 3 cards it would've been about $480-$500

Nice analysis! Just a suggestion: having one graph displaying the first month sales of the games you want to compare side by side might make it easier for the viewer to visualise the difference in volume.
That's a good idea! If I do this again, I can definitely make my own chart using the data.
I do not think TCG player is a big source of product for SW:Unlimited. I think the local game stores and Asmodee's site is a much bigger distribution than TCG player.
Yeah I think that’s a bad take. People buy singles from TCG player but there’s lots of better places to get boxed product and Unlimited was widely available at FLGS, many of which were running great preorder deals. My LGS was taking preorders at $100/box
For the record, I wasn't saying TCGplayer is the largest contributor to selling Star Wars Unlimited. I'm just saying it's a bigger part of the distribution pipeline for new TCGs versus long time existing ones. Also I think you are underestimating how many people go straight to TCGplayer to buy sealed and singles rather than go to a local store. Your local store might charge $100 a box, but they were $90 on TCGplayer.

Data is data. But I think this is one data point among many that show Unlimited is crushing it. Others include that people are really enjoying playing the game and lots of events and play nights are being organized.

It's crazy how Lorcana, a relatively basic game could be so much popular than a more sophisticated and fun game like Netrunner.
People will say that fun is relative, but gamers know that Netrunner by far has greater depth and mechanics.
To each their own, but I can't justify spending x10 more for a game that offers less game wise. I do love the card design and artwork of Lorcana though.
Since you're comparing with other TCG's, I'm curious what your thoughts are on Altered! I know it's not out yet, but it has some gameplay overlap and is also a meteoric newcomer.
To be honest, I'm not the target demo for Altered. The art doesn't speak to me. All the tech behind it screams NFTs but not NFTs. I've heard the gameplay is good, but there are so many good TCGs right now. If it blows up, I'm happy for it and might check it out and be convinced, but right now I'm not interested at all.
@@iopentcgs Fair take, nothing is for everyone and art is subjective, I just hope you'll be persuadable by playing a game irl, having the cards in hand makes a big difference! :)
One point to note about the NFT though: The mechanism is the same as owning an item in an RPG like WoW, with the QR code being the item identifier, instead of just a line of code. The Uniques are the same, just 1 of 1 (unlike e.g., a skin in LoL being 1 of a bazillion). They are definitely fungible, if someone hacks into the Altered main server, where all this is stored, and changes/duplicates ownership (not recommending anyone to do that!!!). i just thought Altered was past clarifying the misconception, which is a bummer.

1 thing to keep in mind, this is a new tcg, it's not uncommon for a new tcg to sell extremely well in the first set

I Love Sorcery, mainly because of the art and full art display foils and how unified the structure of the cards are with the cores, the mixes, the elements. I like starwars although I’m not a big fan of the back design and the art could get a little more refinement. I don’t like Flesh and Blood, the name is subpar, nothing special, the game mechanics are too confusing, the art is cgish, I don’t understand how it has become popular, same category as Lorcana, pretty childish. I just don’t get it.
We all definitely have our preferences! I will say that if you do play a game of Flesh and Blood, there is a high chance that it will click once you play a turn or two. You will realize just how insanely ahead of all other card games the strategic ceiling the game has. Art will always be subjective, but in my opinion Flesh and Blood has some amazing amazing art. Sorcery is amazing as well.
One Piece seems like it is mostly being bought by flippers looking to profit.
One Piece definitely has a huge amount of scalpers, but it also has a huge amount of players and people who just want to play the game!
I hate scalpers. Same with digimon. Stupid aholes! Anyhow I'll pick up the SWU starter decks and get a booster box.
