    5:28 Update! I've just discovered that if you place the HueSaturation modifier BEFORE the Tint modifier (you can drag it by pressing on the gray circles at the top right, to the right of the 'x') the effect is EVEN better :)

  • @DoktorKifTV
    @DoktorKifTV Před 3 lety

    Yay! More! Rad work, and you've also persuaded me to do 2d blender. Only just found stroke correction thing (for putting things tilted by 3d moves back into camera space) and other features making grease pencil work doable, you're making it look extremely easy! thankyou!

    • @DoktorKifTV
      @DoktorKifTV Před 3 lety

      PS Re Colour - would love to see one day someone create a colour-change feature based off of the pen-tilt / direction info from a Wacom tablet/pen (interpreted as a direction to move the current colour across a custom pallette like a painter would have on the side) and I bet there's some programmatic possibility with the vertex colours being kept.

    • @SophieJantak
      @SophieJantak  Před 3 lety +1

      Thank you! This means a lot! Also what you’re talking about with pen tilt would be WILD. I don’t even fully understand how someone could make that happen but that would be so cool (of course I’m not a coder so that’s not surprising) but yes seeing pen tilt implemented in some way into grease pencil could be SO GREAT

    • @DoktorKifTV
      @DoktorKifTV Před 3 lety

      @@SophieJantak Cheers! I've seen people request features like this and new blender features keep showing up thick and fast. 1 and 2 below are doable.
      1) Wacom pens/tablets (and some other Stylus / Stylii) send where you're pointing, pressure/distance (yes, distance if nearby), a kind of north and the angle (steepness). Real-time streams of numbers just like mouse / joystick, it's doable (I saw 3d joysticks in the options recently, 'NDOF' controllers so I'm hopeful) and things blender is built on Python just need something adding, or SDL (like DirectX but works on all platforms, for joystick input pens etc) are also constantly evolving.

    • @DoktorKifTV
      @DoktorKifTV Před 3 lety

      @@SophieJantak 2) Multi-Touch is great, new feature, doesn't for me seem to work how I expect in Blender on windows/linux (or I'm an idiot and have my pen/tablet settings wrong) - missing that new option we all really wanted... of working with touch screens or wacoms with touch so you can just paint with a finger on the tablet or screen and 2nd in the UI panel corner and change anything / drag colour selector around! Sigh one day maybe. Meanwhile Wacoms allow pen or single touch and multi-touch, (it just relays where you're pressing and how hard) so... you could just drag one finger around and that paints, then add a second finger in the corner to vary whatever, like a palette, or two - colour, shadow colour! (doable in Python or JUCE - there's always people out there pushing the frontiers of these fun U.I. areas!)

      @@DoktorKifTV Hey I just realized youtube notified me about comments but not comment replies, so I'm just seeing everything else you wrote and that's all really cool! But thanks for sharing all this, it's really interesting!

    Sophie, I so love your style and that you do it all in Grease pencil. You also have a lovely personality. So down to earth. I'm learning the 2d 3d space and animation, so I'm lost half of the time when watching tutorials. I love what you are teaching, but you're just a little fast with the process. Like when you select something. I can't see what or where the button is. I have to replay a few times. Maybe if you could just slow down a tad, that would be great for newbies like myself.

    • @SophieJantak
      @SophieJantak  Před 3 lety +1

      Thank you so much! I’ll make a video soon on my brush settings, but my lineart brush currently looks like... no post-processing, and for randomize I have radius at 0.05, strength at 0.06, hue at 1 (with the stroke button clicked), saturation at 0.01 (stroke button clicked) and value at 0.04 (stroke button clicked). Though that’s just from playing around with the settings, not saying that’s the “perfect” settings by any means, haha. But anyways hope it helps!

    Drawing in Colour? czcams.com/play/PL02OYF9769rPTjPfnbdwMRAwHQxz-2jVS.html - Krita was / is a bust (sad, they're VERY nearly there) Hoping to make for free, or on steam for very little, and develop for all platforms - as plugins and as standalone minimal paint/layer edit/onion skinning cartoonist/artists' tool. Easy given time to make into a plugin for Krita for editing a new image same size as layer it's run on, with that layer being your (alpha/hideable) reference or background - might involve me getting someone else to do it as I'm severely disabled, yet stll having fun - thx for the tips!
