    Former college rower, Concept 2 is the goat of rowing. pretty much everyone serious about the sport only uses them.
    I support this pick.

    Love the idea of the best compact equipment for a home gym. It would be cool if you actually set up equipment in a specific square foot area, like say 10'X10" and recommended what equipment to have in that space.

    You too can have a set up with about half the equipment mentioned here for only 10k!

    The Ironmaster bench you recommended comes with a pad that has one thin side and one thick side so it being “only” 10.5 inches wide is incorrect. Yes, one side is 10.5 inches wide but the other side is your ideal 12 inches wide.

    What gym is she going to? Everyone in my town has a membership at planet fitness which is $10 a month plus $40 annual fee. That is no where near the cost of $3000 tonal. If you get $100 month anytime fitness membership it includes personal training (but I think most planet fitnesses include this at $10 month) but the benefit is if you pay $100 they will be certified but I think the trainers at planet fitness had to be certified at one point too. Okay so $1200 a year is still less than tonal and you still have to pay like a $50 fee for tonal and peloton even if you own the expensive equipment I believe to take the classes. There is another gym a little further away I believe it’s like $50 a month and focuses on free weights. I am happy with my decision to start a home gym because of savings on time and dealing with people. You won’t necessarily be saving on money.

      our gym is $360/month for me, my wife and my 3 year old. it all depends on where you live

    Somehow garage gym seems wrong to be emphasizing something like tonal. Cost plus subscription. My basement gym is much more frugal and does more. Not a fan of this review

      That’s short sighted and factual wrong. Tonal fits the definition of a home gym that is versatile. The issue you have is you are to poor to buy it

      I mean it is their secondary channel. It's meant to go after people like my wife and her friends. People who love stuff like peloton-have no time to go to physical gym but don't want to do lifts like I would.

      @@CraigularjJoeWoodworksI feel sorry for you that you need to put down people for not being able to afford that piece of cr@p. For most people, it’s not that they can’t afford it, they don’t want to spend money on garbage. Not everyone wants to spend 2000 dollars on a Louis Vuitton wallet for example. Absolutely insane that you think a smith machine with a screen and subscription will have mass market appeal for home gym market moving forwards.

    First time giving this channel a serious shot vs. the main -- Stopped listening when she said $4,000 Tonal + subscription is potentially even in cost vs. going to a gym for a year 😅😅

    It is crazy how all of these videos have the same pattern. They review rediculously expensive gimmicks like Tonal and then when comparing costs they make up rediculously high costs of normal equipment. Where does a gym membership cost $5000 a year? I saw another video that compared Tonal to $6000 of gym equipment. Why not compare Tonal to adjustable dumbbells, a bench, a rack and cables? Because the later costs only $1600? Or to a Bowflex? I guess again, because a bowflex is less than $1000. Why can't they give people real data. What is wrong with saying a Gym membership is a few hundred a year, but if you don't want to go to the Gym, you can invest $5k in a tonal, but if that is impractical, you can get equipment to workout just as well for less than $1k.

    Tonal is a horrible product. If you are an experienced lifter 4k and it does not replace a good functional trainer and you have to continually pay a fee. If you have a novice with no discipline, then you have the most expensive clothe hanger. A novice would be better off going to a gym and getting a trainer to start. It's a product trying to build a market, not a product that satisfies the need for a market.

    • @jaredking31
      @jaredking31 Před 6 měsíci

      the market is thirty something busy professionals, mostly women-who either don't like the gym or don't have the time to go. It's not my thing, but I could see my wife liking this kind of thing.

    • @kidbrown2010
      @kidbrown2010 Před 5 měsíci

      The market is tech minded people who don't actually want to workout but want a cool piece of tech in their house. Only time I've seen this product in a home gym tour (I've watched many, many, as an afficionado) was some slender tech guy that looked like he didn't have much time to workout and wanted a techy looking gym.
      Does any serious lifter. Competitive bodybuilder, powerlifter or strong man use this machine? I think that tells the story. It's a gimmick. Also, you'll want to workout and this thing will hit you with the 1-hour software update.
      Gym equipment is just not meant to be a tech subscription.

    • @jamestonbellajo
      @jamestonbellajo Před 3 měsíci

      I think that’s the exact point. They aren’t marketing to experienced lifters. I think they know 1) those people wouldn’t buy that product and 2) with as much as their product costs, they want to market it to the largest possible audience. That large audience is not experienced lifters but just the general audience who 1) is not as fit and experience and 2) expect tech in all facets of their lives including fitness.
      The money maker for them and what their investors bank on is the subscription and not the device itself. Experience lifters aren’t going to pay that subscription let alone the Tonal itself. But the general population may be more keen to. That’s why everything has subscription costs these days.
