    I got the Ares 1.0 because they dropped the price to approximately $800 less than the listed price. I know the 2.0 is much more improved, but I can deal with the low row being so close to the ground and how far apart they are for $800 less. I can't be happier with my purchase.

    REP has been crushing the home gym strength scene for years now. And their new cardio looks innovative too. Rogue is too busy making overpriced bars/plates with nfl stickers. But that doesn't seem to be working since they sold some of their new cable attachments but had to drop their price weeks after launch. Seems desperate.

    Coop, one aspect of 49" vs 47" that I don't see mentioned often is if you're tall or long-limbed having a wider inside can allow more elbow/knee room for benching and squatting and not hitting the safeties with wider stances/positions. I'm 6ft tall and MUCH prefer a wider interior rack, the small size difference is actually quite noticeable in use.

    • @billchurch4460
      @billchurch4460 Před dnem +1

      I hear ya. I'm not even six foot, have Rogue's RM6 and even with the 49" width I find myself occasionally making contact with my safeties during certain exercises, certain positioning etc. I can't imagine what things might be like with less interior width, even if it's only two inches. Right now, it's a rare occurrence and more of a distraction when it does happen. With two less inches I could see it potentially being a problem.

    The FM HR (single stack) is completely irrelevant unless the rhino is very important to the user. It's unnecessarily deep (+22") meanwhile the Twin is comparable to the Ares and is only 5" deeper. If you're going to use the back posts for plate storage, then the Ares and Twin are equal but the single stack sticks out beyond your plate storage.
    Still waiting on the 4 post twin FT add on to drop. They only have the FM-6 twin add on available. If they have the 4 post twin FT available with the uprights, they should sell it without the uprights as well since some of us can convert our existing racks.

      To add more context, I order the single stack with 300lbs weight stack. I was told the twin stack is the same as the single stack just with two 150lbs stacks* vs a 300lbs stack on the single.
      With all the talks of a rhino drop in for the FM series, I wonder how that will work with only a 300lbs stack. I was also told the plate loaded has a 800lbs weight limit (the cables being the limiting factor).
      It seems the best bet would be opt for plate loaded to prepare for the Rhino drop in as this would allow up to 800lbs for a belt squat. I am thinking of changing my single stack to either the plate loaded or dual stack. I plan to call Rogue tomorrow to discuss further. Curious to hear others thoughts.

    Regarding cable placement (and, obviously, acknowledging that one cable will be on the front of the upright and the other will be behind), Coop mentioned that he prefers the Rep configuration (lower cable is on the front of the rack). I wish he had acknowledged that this could be problematic for spotter arms extended from the front of the rack (and yes, i know there are workaround solutions, such as lowering the trolley below the spotter arms - or - mounting the spotter arms from an inside-out orientation). Still, for most purposes, it seems the Rogue setup is better for spotter arms.

    When rep or rogue has an option with a smith machine built in, I'll buy then

  • @raven-19x

    REP currently is my only option as a basement dweller. I'm hoping for a smith machine attachment similar to what ForceUSA has as that would be a peak home gym rack.

    I bought the Rogue add-on dual stack functional trainer for my monster rack. I bought it with zero reviews posted. It will supposedly be here in 2-3 weeks. I’m excited but also worried.

      I did the same in late May. Looking forward too its arrival. Not worried at all, becoming impatient! I expect mine in 2-3 weeks as well.

      Yeah, GGR is way too fixated on Rep and Rogue. The articulating cable arms on the SX2 and ATX Monster 2.0 make both these racks look outdated already

  • @shaynemcgrady
    @shaynemcgrady Před 3 dny

    Really curious about the cable travel for the 100” single stack. Rogue lists the cable travel as 100” for single pull and 50” per hand for a double pull. I feel like this is adequate for most exercises but it’s a costly chance to take.

    Does the difference in upright sizing (3" vs 75mm) make much of a difference if you're going off-brand for items that fit onto the uprights, like j-cups, roller bars, bench attachments, etc.?

    Why doesn’t Rogue sell a twin functional trainer “add-on” option for 4 post monster racks. I messaged Rogue about this and they basically said that I had to convert my rack to a 6 post or buy the entire functional trainer. Thanks for supporting customers who bought into your monster ecosystem… make it make sense.

    • @momotart
      @momotart Před 3 dny +1

      Agreed. they sell a 4 post twin FT but won't sell it as an add on.

    I might have missed it, but what's the difference between the Rogue single vs double stack? Can you do double arm cable exercises with the single stack, or is that only something you can do with the double.

    Yup I’m stilling deciding on the 2. I would be buying everything from 1 company. After watching the video , the fact rogue might have lowered thier price to compete where as rep has definitely increased price. I leaning towards rogue now

    initially i was going down this rabbit hole of kitting my workout gear with the largest rogue equipment. now im downsized to a 5/8 rack system. dumbbells. barbells. adj bench. only thing left for me is a functional trainer of sorts and i'm looking hard at:
    dialed motion (full functional +durability +cable implementation)
    bulletproof vts (hi+lo+smith)
    bully glyder
    syl but not seriously a consideration anymore as it's weight capacity is limited

    • @covidcarl7480
      @covidcarl7480 Před 3 dny

      no weight stacks for me to deal with. easy to modify and move.
      pass on the voltra i. it's better powered and has fragile direct drive motor that will die and an easy to fray cord.
