That's the best video I've ever seen thank you very much.. it's about time all that talkin sucks.. it's good the way you did it I'm very impressed thank you very much..
There's probably a sanitary tee inside the wall, where the water flows down and the vent goes up and connects to a larger pipe that eventually goes through and vents through the roof
Why would you use purple primer? Clear primer looks much better. Purple primer is for the inspector to see that you used it only it isn't even a requirement on drainage. Good install though! Tubular traps are the best for home owners too because they can take them apart if they get clogged.
I know everybody hates when another plumber from a different area decides to tell a different way of doing it but if you put primer and glue on the face of the pipe and the face of the fitting it literally doubles the strength of your glue joint and if you chafe the pipe you don't get a squeegee effect as your inserting the pipe into the fitting it can squeegee the glue out of the socket and there are voids in the glue joint not really that important for a drain line.
Im serious, can you show how please :) I’m 60 and whiny to redo the whole thing because my builder led my new sink dripping:( I think I can fix it but want to do it right, thank you
Bro! Where is the escutcheon on the pvc? And been using purple primer my whole career 18yrs. And use a piece of cardboard under the primer and glue when using it. Didn't have no problems with a mess!!!
I am thinking about how much money the chemist made from creating that PVC cement. They need to highlight these types of creations in school so the children can understand that they can be successful using science and they don't HAVE TO PLAY SPORTS, RAP, ACT OR TIKTOK in order to be successful🤓😎
Okay just double checking. I'm a new apprentice and I did exactly what you just did 😂. My foreman had me doing pex and just boosted me up to finish work plumbing. Training with good teachers too!
I know it doesn’t matter in this setting. But we found that if you don’t prime and glue the end edges of pipe. We failed every pressure test on drains. But when we made certain to glue the edges. We pass every time. I don’t take time to concern myself with why. I just know the edges getting sealed helped hold pressure.
No need. The seal comes from the red gasket. It's shapped with a bevel and when you tighten it you should be water tight. Adding anything to the threads could actually interfere with the nut and not let the gasket seat properly
@@pjplumber2146 In Russia, this is called a "knee" siphon. the curved pipe is a siphon, aka a hydraulic seal. if you look closely, you can see that during assembly, the seal ring remains on the floor, it is not put in place.
Its tapered already thats y u dnt need a gasket on the weer of the ptrap..also they give an extra gasket thats y theres one left...its smaller inside for 1¼ grid strainer
You could carefully cut around the drywall with a box cutter about 1/2 inch all the way around to gove you better access. I would then add a coupling and another short piece of pipe same diameter to have it come out of the wall by a 3-4 inches thus extending it... I'm not a plumber but this is what i would do. You can also add these metal plates around the pipe to cover the hole if you're worried about appearance but I doubt anyone's ever gonna be inspecting your beautiful plumbing job under the sink 😊 I hope this makes sense. Basically you're extending the pipe in the wall by adding a short piece of pipe and using the coupler to connect the 2 pipes together using primer and pipe glue/cement. Cutting the hole in the drywall around the pipe lets you get glue around the existing pipe and gives room to put the coupler on.
ALL pvc primer is purple, there's no other option. And if it's a professional job, you won't pass inspection if the inspector doesn't see that purple line.
It always beats me why the hell youd have all this crap under your sinks when you can just go straight out, then have all the gunk outside in your drain that you can easily clean up
Richard, are you going to call your daddy trump for this 😂 are you outrage? Should we wonder if your going to shoot at a school too? Watch yourself little Richard
This should take me about two days to complete.
😂😂😂😂😂
Took me 1 hour to buy the parts😂
No joke but yeah same here. 2 days minimum
21 trips to Home Depot later😊
Lol at least I'm not alone 😂

One word of advice, never ever bring purple primer into a home. One spill and your buying a new floor. I've been plumbing 34 yrs.
Also just doesn’t look nice. Strictly underground work, everything else should be 2step clear cleaner and glue
I was thinking same thing, 24 years plumbing
A lot of inspectors won’t pass if you don’t have purple. A towel would be nice though.
For some reason I commonly find purple used over clear
So wat I'm getting from this is black pipes and a 45° is not needed. Lol. Nonwknder my sink always backs up. Sheeezz. Thanks

duck tap glue&primer cans together Hard to knock them over. When tap together👍✌️♥️💪
Actually a good idea and you don't have to worry about misplacing one or the other
I keep them in the double box .. same thing ... No tape needed ..😂
EXCELLENT!!! You make this look so easy!!!
This is a great video. The only thing I still don’t understand is ventilation. I keep reading that a p trap needs to be ventilated.

Good job in the 1-4 turns
Thats my go to method on my rehab/repair projects.
I use clear primer on fixtures
You should always turn the primer stick the same way the toilet water goes when you flush it.
You literally just saved my life !
Now thats a better p-trap
Love watching you …
Wish it was that simple. My drain setup is offset from the waste pipe.
It would have been cool if you explained certain key parts… good video
Quick and easy, thank you
The tech simply magician wow!!!😁👍🏻
so a ¼ turn on those fittings bro

What if water is coming out right where that red o ring is on the down spout from the sink? Is it just a bad o ring? Something else ?
Are you supposed to seal in the middle connectors as well?
I dont know much but are you allowed to use copper instead of pvc? Or is this the standard
How far does waste arm extend into the trap adaptor onto the wall
Thank you
Sometimes chet, sometimes very good 👍

What the hell is behind that? That looks like his coupling is connected to nothing on the other side. Maybe I just don’t see it clearly.

Are you supposed to put glue or primer on the middle connectors also?
No, they have a threaded nut and water and work by compression and can easily be unscrewed if you have a clog..
So your pee gets trapped in there when you pee in the sink ???
what he do wrong plumbers
venting??
