I also used to cut some pieces. I had a bunch of lego spears so I cut the heads off of em leaving just enough handle for minifigures to hold and turned them into kunai for my ninja minifigures, I also used the leftover handles as bo staffs

I mean to be fair. You get a dozen of those sun visors and you've turned them from sun visors into be home and attached. Binoculars so it's not that much of a waste. It's pretty well done
Especially since every single Star wars fan has done that for custom bly

I cut my spring loaded missiles so they look cool in mini action scenes and the reason I do this is because I never use the actual feature and two I have a LOT
