    The reason why firefly is having its own swap station is because nio want to accommodate other brand ‘s compact cars.

      1. There is no reason to equip those smaller/lighter cars with large capacity batteries. 40-50kWh will be sufficient. (BTW Mr. Li talked about smaller capacity batteries even for NIO).
      2. Also, if you put those batteries into NIO stations , the battery management could be a very tricky.
      3. Too many different type of batteries will make customer experience much worse (there will less high capacity batteries in battery swapping station due to a different NIO vs. Firefly vehicle ratio). Just imagine that you vehicle (ES8 or ES7) could cost 5 times more, but you have to be in a queue with Firefly model owners. Mr. LI introduces new battery swapping stations for Firefly to ensure that his premium (NIO) brand customers are not affected. That is how you build a premium brand.

      @@chickenchopfriedrice the only stupid part about it is a large initial investment, but it will not last forever. Otherwise battery swapping technology has many benefits which also include a possibility to sell NIO, ONVO and Firefly vehicles on 23-30% (or even more for cheaper vehicle "Firefly") less via BaaS scheme. Competitors will be cooked if they do not implement a similar concept. They have a couple of years to do it. Smart Chinese companies have signed partnerships with NIO and working on their vehicle platforms. Others will join the club or become outsiders and be squeezed out from Chinese market dues to a low customer demand.

    NIO could let the partners build smaller swap Stations and also could allow gas stations owners or owners to franchise the swap stations. Therefore all kind of options and I have full confidence with NIO’s CEO to make the best decision. I really advise not to torpedo the small swap stations as cash burning as we do not know the real story.

      I’m closing in on retirement, and I have benefitted much from using a financial advisor. I didn’t really start early, so I knew the compound interest of index fund investing would not work for me.     Firefly strategy is actually to penetrate Europe. Europeans prefer small cars due to their road condition. NIO doesn't have many swap stations there now. Hence, launching many smaller, cheaper swap stations there at much faster pace make sense. Firefly still in NIO stall will leverage on NIO brand and view as a boutique car from NIO.
    To duplicate this in China may not make sense. It will be better for NIO to delay its Firefly launch while waiting for European final tax tariff development. Instead, it should speed up NT3 launch to gain gross margin first.

    Hopefully when Envo launches in September, it will generate massive income for NIO.
    We also have UAE starting this year again, that will generate income for NIO.
    It has taken a very long time, but finally other revenue streams are coming online.

    You are the biggest nio short on tube. The firefly stations partially funded by mass brand partners. Cut the crap Mr P. Battery swap stations are a money generator in the making and more profitable than manufacturing with low capex to return.

    If Nio gets to profitability next year they should not need to raise any more capital Tesla did not raise new capital once they became profitable everything is now funded on their profits.

      I think this is the case based on the Elliot wave count. We go up from here in either 3 or 5 waves over 12+ months. It’s possible the macro count is working an b/x wave within a larger b/x wave in which case we might see dilution after making a crazy 8-18x off the low and that is the bear case which is less likely. Otherwise we’re looking at much higher levels well above the ATH. $173.39, $203.21. We know when to buy and when to sell with game genie in our toolkit. there are many intermediate Elliot wave analysts out there that even sell products who are not very good. No affiliation but Victor Manena, Financial Freedom, and Money Management Elliot wave CZcams channels are all excellent at identifying the wave structures more accurately and trade Devils is a great resource for learning. Transform trading is also good. I know this all sounds very arrogant but it’s true. :-)

      @@henpil7098 All depends on the rate of growth and burn. Personally I think the burn rate is going to drop significantly for two reasons I think the spending will tighten up and obviously with higher sales margins are just going to improve and honestly 9% is not bad as it is on gross vehicle margins. Honestly I don’t think it will take them to many quarters to get down to 250 million per quarter burn. I’m optimistic I think they hit profitability by Q4 2025 so I’m not concerned.

    Nonsense Mr.P, Firefly is primarily for EU. William Li already said that a swap station in EU already making $200k annually so it wouldn’t be too much expenditure. Why? Because price difference between peak and valley is much greater in EU compared to China. Plus, it will likely be shared with other brands.

    I've read the arguments for building unique swap stations in Europe for Firefly and I still disagree with the concept. It would have been better to modify and equip existing swap stations to accommodate Firefly. The argument about NIO owners having to wait for Firefly to charge is ridiculous. They are building out thousands of more charging stations. Its simple. Just build enough charging stations to accommodate ALL USERS. They will be PROFITABLE so just build build build swap stations!

    Catl has a european battery Factory in hungary. Maybe it will bé used for firefly. SS for firefly will be cheaper and for cities, it is good for small parking lots, shopping centers. Plus Swap prices may be cheaper.

    Onvo store is next to the NIO stores, it will still be seen as a NIO, ONVO uses NIO service centres, phone, swap stations. I probably would have made a cheaper ES6 and EC6 with a single motor and no HUD, they can also subscribe to NIO Life, but making cheaper NIOs could cheapen the brand. So ONVO is a good idea.

    You have made countless videos about how onvo is going to the moon, how it’s too good, and how it’s going to sell like hotcakes? Now Nio should have made it an EC4 because it would have sold better as a Nio? Contradicting messages. I think they need a sub brand to remove the Nio houses from more users and some of the cost increasing benefits Nio owners have that decrease margins. Margins on onvo will be more and Nio will be the premium “club” brand. Like Toyota and Lexus and Honda and Acura, etc. I think you may have even said something similar to that in a previous video.

    I am a big fan of NIO and ONVO .....BUT....making a car that is NOT Compatible with EXISTING AND STANDARDIZED SWAP STATIONS requiring NEW FORMAT SWAP STATIONS..... is frankly IDIOTIC and a HUGE BLUNDER in my opinion. What they SHOULD have done is desig the Firefly to be able to utilize the SAME swap stations as NIO and ONVO. How management did not see this as OBVIOUS is a mystery to me.

    I think the CEO must have known all along that the Firefly design would require different swapping stations to the other NIO models.
    To push this additional expense at this time when shareholders are down about half the value of their investment is not a good reflection on respecting shareholders sentiment.
    I am starting to worry about this, and somehow it seems chaotic as I am sure no one expected this extra cash burn surprise.

    Finally reality is kicking in, there a lot of people out there that need a reality check, there’s no doubt more dilution is coming they even say it in their earnings, hence why I won’t be putting another penny in this stock. You just can’t trust nio mgmt, remember when the et5 was going to be the biggest selling ev out there, or the et 7. Nio is un investable until the second half of next year when you will see the onvo numbers, only then will you know if it’s a seller or just another cash burn.

    If Firefly is supposed to be a cheaper car why bother building swap stations for it. Sell it with a fixed battery like all the competitors and save on swap stations? Doesn’t make sense. Watch our shares go even lower. Nio on the wrong track with this one

    There is a reason Xpeng stock is almost double NIO. This is because they did not dilute the stock as much as NIO. They have an investment from VW that NIO does not. Xpeng is playing it safe. The right thing to do. Money used to be almost free, now it is not, interest rates are high. Governments and people across the world spent money and borrowed like drunken sailors. All this is changing and money will tighten. NIO's cash burn is bad, be careful.
