Needs to wear clown shoes. He's a system player, as good as the team he's in which is okay when his team are winning, but you have never been able to rely on Sterling to be the one to win a match, needing 5 chances for every goal, oh but he'll get a few when his team wins by 3 or 4 goals. It's the Chelsea curse. Similar thing happened with Fernando Torres. Scored for fun at Liverpool, moved to Chelsea... couldn't hit a white whale on a black background. I personally never really rated Sterling anyway - has some skills but very selfish player who gets away with it when he's in form, but looks utterly hapless when his confidence is dented. If he learned to pass instead of going for glory every time he could actually be a useful player with his pace, but instead he always goes for the finish despite him shanking just about every shot this season. That missed pen is one of the worst penalties I've seen in the Premier League, about on par with the Pires/Henry penalty. Shocking. And they just keep playing him despite him literally losing games for his club by missing clear cut chances that a centre back would have buried 99 times out of 100. Not good enough. He got away with it at City because they provided top class service to their strikers and honestly, they were good enough to win without him. Don't really want to see him in an England shirt.
In defense of Torres he had a very awful injury before the world cup and was told by doctors that if he tried to play the 2010 WC and play with that injury while not recovering well then it'd be bad for his physique for the rest of his career (there's many videos about it). And after that he just lost all of the speed he had which was the great skill he had at liverpool.
