100% correct and bang on point Anton! The BBC must investigate and/or hold a public inquiry into this because it's simply abuse of taxpayers money/TV Licence.
I agree that the BBC should investigate, he is their employee and will have an expected standard of conduct. However I donât think itâs an abuse of taxpayers money. Huw Edwards takes home his pay, and what he chooses to spend it on (provided it is legal, which the Met have said no offence was committed) is his business.

I was involved with a guy 44 at time any didn't see anything wrong with the age gap, but now I think it wasn't normal. By that I don't mean my sexuality, I'm still the same today.
I think I saw you at Blackfriars Bridge last week whilst coming out of the station on my way to work but I was shocked and saddened by the news.

Extremely shocking to the cure Antoni as I certainly wasnât expecting that from Huw Edwards.
It is a bit weird to be getting involved sexually with someone so much younger but if they are over 16 then while it isn't exactly right it doesn't actually make him a paedophile or anything. If the 17 year old consented to everything that went on then no crimes will have been committed.
I personally would never get involved sexually with someone when the age gap is anywhere near that.
He knew what he was getting involved in.

So where do we draw the boundary? I tred carefully beleive me but Ive been thinking believe. Is it based on age of consent or mental thing to? America makes it 18. We make it 16 isnt that too young? What makes one day you're 16 and the nexy your 17 and youre mentally aware enough to know what youre doing.

The age of Consent in the UK is 16 BUT it is only legal if the other willing participant is between 16 and 18 and the UK
I would say 25 is the oldest that anyone should be able to interact with someone who is under 18 in that way

He was one of my favourite T.V. presenters.
But the thing is, there most likely have been offences committed. Consent is 16 but explicit pictures/videos is 18. It's like doing porn at 17. And receiving them is just as much an offence as sending them. Either way it's Grade A nonce behaviour.
By the way I was always told it's "half your age plus seven". At 36 this means my younger limit is 25 which sounds about right to me. At 44 yours will be 29. đ
Yes, that seems like an acceptable age gap to have a relationship. Half plus 7.

It is bad I agree! I think no matter like 10+ years or 20+ years it shouldnât happen. Not only has he crossed a boundary for his job and his social standing and his credibility heâs crossed a line with his relationship as well. I think with such a strong family relationship and a person of such adored social standing, itâs a cause for concerns with all the people in media at the moment! Who do you trust? At the moment the media isnât really doing much favours for itself obviously with the other scandal with Scofield as well as the others as well! Something needs to be changed in the media, wether thatâs regulation for 12 monthly background checks and a mental health check or a 6 month one. I just think people with such a big social standing should be monitored more. Not because of them directly itâs for the safety and credibility of the brand and the other staff members. I work for a bank and Iâd be out of the door within 3 days after doing something as atrocious as this! I just think the media regulator needs a re-vamp and also the gov need to spec a new law to prevent or stop stuff like this from happening in which âstruggling or mentally unfitâ people can abuse the system. I mean Iâm between 20-25 and of the LGBT community and it makes me sick honestly! People say they feels sorry for him but the brutality of this is bad and if this happened to their family member Iâm sure they wouldnât sit there and say oooh it was only a mistake. What a woke culture we are leading into

I donât think youâre correct. The Met didnât say he hadnât done any of this, they said what he had done wasnât illegal, there is a difference.

Iâd agree that the whole thing is a bit âickâ and like you makes me feel uncomfortable. However consider the story was broken by a newspaper whoâs proprietor recently divorced a woman 26 years his junior. He married his previous wife when she was 30, and he was 68. This same newspaper that routinely printed semi-naked photographs of sixteen year old girls. Just saying.
