Why do people always mix baking soda and vinegar together? It neutralizes it and renders it useless… just use water and baking soda to form a paste and use that

Nah, i'm a baker, baking soda is pure sodium bicarbonate, which requires an acid and a liquid to become activated. Baking powder includes sodium bicarbonate, as well as an acid (baking powder is baking soda+acid). It only needs a liquid to become activated. Hope it helps.
