Thank you and Merry Christmas to you and your family Sedge. Even though I’ve been at this in some form or another for 40 years, I have learned a ton from you in the last year. Not just as I have come into the Festool system, but so many common sense practices that are like Easter eggs in your content. I hope that keeps on going through the new year!
Thank you soo much....Merry Christmas and Happy New Year !!!!!!
Amazing, exactly what I came inside to find out. Back to making drawer boxes in the garden. Many thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Mystery solved ! Thank you so much : I have always been reluctant to using 4x20 tenons because I thought my DF500 was defective and missing a "10mm" depth setting 😂😂😂
Happy to help!
Merry Christmas to Sedge, Big D and The Unit
Merry Christmas Matthew !!!!!!!!!!
Sedge, you've thought me a thing or two over the years.Learned something new today.Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas William !!!!!
I just wanted to say than you for all your videos. I’ve finally got the hang of this machine. I was so frustrated but since I’ve followed all instructions on how to use it I’m really digging it Thanks so much 😊

Happy Holidays Sedge!
Happy holidays! Thanks for watching !!!!
I just used it this week for 5/8 material. Love that little guy :)
Wicked cool !!
Thanks for the very useful content. I use those little guys for divided light cabinet doors (the dividing part, whatever that's called) and they make a very strong/solid door.
Great tip! Happy Holidays !!!!!!
The Astragal’s -or- lite partitions 😁👍🏻
Nice! Thanks for your useful content on your channel and Festool Live! Blessings for a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year to you and yours!
Happy holidays Brian to you and your family !!!!!!
Merry Christmas Sedge. Dave from Rio Rancho NM
Merry Christmas Dave ....... Gonna be a GREAT 2023 !!!!!!! hope it is a little warmer there in NM........
How'd you know I was going to be cutting 4mm dominos today? I had done a test to check some 3D printed dry fit dominos and thought I had made some kind of mistake when I had the depth set to 12 and I got such a shallow mortice! Thanks for your tips and your timeliness. Whenever anyone buys any Festool products from me at Woodcraft, I always point them to your videos. Game changers! (I also point them at the Supplemental manuals. Wish Festool did more to advise buyers of these.)
Wicked cool !!! Thanks for your support !!!!!
Love your videos @sedge!
When are you going to do a build video for the sys wall!
Thanks .... Working on more cabinet videos
Another great video! Question: Is there a way to apply the Domino to 45 degree bevels on boxes that are less than 3/4", say 5/8" or 1/2", thick?
Merry Christmas tto you and your family Sedge!!! stay shahap!
Merry Christmas to you and your family !!!!
Sedge, great information as always, Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas David !!!!!!!!!!
I love my 4mm dominos. Works great for 1/2" plywood, picture frames and other small projects. Often in thicker wood I will just 4mm dominos for alignment where more joint strength is not required.
wicked cool
Merry Christmas!
Happy holidays!
Sedge, why not show how to do the same thing with the 700 using the seneca adapter to do smaller dominos? I think festool finally came out with smaller domino bits for the 700.
Ty
I do not know of Festool coming out with smaller bits for the DF700
@@sedgetool i must have been misinformed. I went into Rockler a few months ago to buy another 4mm and i faintly remember the guy saying there was one for the 500 and the 700….i could have mistaken what he was saying.
Hi Sedge, been watch all your videos on the domino since getting one recently (surprising how many times I messed up butt joining two pieces of MDF together). Mine was actually delivered with a 4mm cutter which I thought was odd but maybe they have changed policy. Making a large cabinet soon so no doubt I'll be watching some of videos again just to get it right first time (Always mark your pieces!! good advice). Keep up the great videos.
Thanks Steve ...will do ....
Rewatching some domino videos while I’m home sick today. This was super helpful for the drawers.
I am working on designs for a step back display hutch. I know I’m going to use the domino. But I also wanted to do some dados for the shelf. If I want to use dominions in conjunction with the dados… I’m hung up on the settings for the depth? I’ll be using 18mm stock for the hutch top and the shelves. I think the dado the shelf will go into will be 6mm. (Trying to do this project in metric. LOL Still learning). This will also be my first project using the domino for mid panel joinery. It’s quite ambitious. LOL
Hey..I hope you are feeling better...I have never have combined dominos with dados...I just use dominos ...
That’s very cool.👍🏻😊
Thank you! Cheers!
so useful
Thanks
You’re right there’s no way to be eque distant.
🤙
This was a fantastic video sedge! Also, killer work on the title and thumbnail. Definitely lured me in and made me want to click
Thank you so much Eric......also....... Have a Merry Christmas !!!!!
Thanks Sedge I am still getting up to speed using the Domino so this was extremely helpful. How would one handle a transition from 3/4” to 1/2” ply? In my situation it would be 3/4” face to 1/2” end grain. Assuming I would just use 4mm dominos there as well?
Reference the same face with the plate ...
“Every day is a school day” thanks Sedge.
wicked cool
I was using the 4mm the first time two days ago and I was like "hmmm, the math isn't adding up" and I remembered this video!
cool
I m ur fan now, ur guru
Thank you
I’d have a very expensive paper weight if not for you and all the excellent teaching you do. I’d never figure any of this stuff out on my own
Happy to help!
hahah i love this guy! men
👍
So, I dropped $90 on getting the Stop so I could do spacing on something that was about 3' long... And found out that the pins in them are 5mm!! So, it looks like you are doing spacing by aligning to lines.... And it looks like I wasted the money on getting the stop - at least, for this project... Clearly, it would be usable for larger work... but I'm expecting to do more 1/2" stuff than other sizes. Also, it isn't clear what the flip blocks are for in the guide that is provided (and used in your video, it appears to give you a stop at some other offset, but looking though the extensive manual (LOL) on how to setup and use the tool, it doesn't even mention that tool being used for anything (the flip things)...
OK
It’s a shawtah mawtice
🤣
