I thought the pilot episode was okay when it first came out, and then when all the later episodes came out and revealed character consistency, it made the pilot retroactively better, at least that's my game theory.
11:03 I got into SF without knowing anything of the creators that the show's humor is centered around. Having since spent a year obsessing over that side of internet, I can confirm: knowing the inside-jokes increases the humor, but it stands on its own and worked well enough with the three others I've gotten to see it too (tbf they were the kind of people I already expected would enjoy it)
8:18 Comedy is the main focus, yeah, but because of the show's premise as a depression hotline of sorts, there are still (a few) lessons to be found in the failures of how the Friends help their clients.
- Desmond wasn't satisfied by exciting activities because he hadn't yet found his purpose in bliblie execution.
- 3D Squelton wasn't helped because he was being distracted from negative truths rather prepared to accept them and move on.
- Satan wasn't ready to be helped because he took any advice as an attack on his character.
- that's all I got, but even without genuine solutions, laughing at crap help feels more healing than those soulless, copied lists of 100 reasons not to kill urself

2:57 fun fact Zach's "voice" is just his normal speaking voice which is insane that funny of a voice comes from a man who has a pretty face
I hardly knew who Zach was when I first saw Smiling Friends and it easily became one of my favorite shows ever. It's not too much of a stretch to say it'll find a new audience who's unfamiliar with its creators.
i recommended the show to my friend, and he didn't knew jack shit about oneyplay or Zach Hadel, and he enjoyed the show (he even see the show in my mother language, so in french and still think its funny, so without the voice of micheal and zach)
so i think the show work for people don't know much about zach, it have good jokes that can be enjoyed by people who like that kind, no matter if they knew what oneyplay is.
What about smiling friend go to Brazil
By the way there's a new seventh stand user game coming out and it is awesome it includes both part 4 and 8 but it's not made by clayman

Smiling friends is the comedy Rick and Morty wish they could be
i have never watched either of the creators of the show, and i enjoyed every second of it.
I'm a big fan of the show and the only reason I saw it at first was because of the YOLO animation, didn't even knew Zach
The show is bad because you can die by watching it
