You seem to me to have excellent higher order processing skills. As a person who did a psych degree, went on to major in neuropsych, i feel like your skills in communicating convoluted information is so well tuned. I didnt get to go as far as i would have liked in neuropsych but i work with people with disabilities, which i love. I just wanted to say that your communication skills are so admirable. I really appreciate this channel, in a youtube sea of channels, for this particular capacity of yours. Cheers from Australia Dr Grande

Anchorage guy here. I worked with a retired corrections guy who had been a guard at the prison that Hansen was held at (he didn't say when, so I'm not sure if this is when Hansen was at Spring Creek or later on when he was transferred to Anchorage). You can imagine that as a guy who worked in corrections for decades, he was a treasure trove of stories, as many old folks are.
He would talk about how Hansen was a good guy to around because he was always very polite and respectful, and was a model prisoner. Because the other inmates had some kind of bizarre respect for the guy, they would listen to him. My coworker would comment on how this little old frail guy just casually kept the others in line.
That says something about prison, I guess. The little guy was in there for kidnapping women and hunting them with a rifle. I wouldn't exactly call a person who did that tough but I guess it is the ruthlessness they respect? Or just the body count? I can only speculate. My coworker was a guard for decades and he said he didn't get it either, just something about prison culture.
On a different note, the guys that were around back then would tell me that his pastries were very good and his bakery was a popular one.

It happened in Toronto. 🤞

Karla lives not far from me. And even closer a couple years ago. That b*tch volunteered at her kids’ private school. Like wtf?! We all have to get police checks for THAT VERY REASON! Yet she was allowed. As soon as we found out, we basically ran her out of town. She changed her face. It’s so damn sick. I hate her. I feel like Bernardo is bad but she’s at least as bad if not worse. I hate how she’s walking free. Married to a rich lawyer. A mom. Like nothing happened.

He lived on a side Street near the Fred Meyer on the corner of Muldoon and DeBarr. He lived on Old Harbor Road. His wife taught kids with learning disabilities. The business he owned (a bakery) is now in the area of the soup kitchens and homeless camps. He kept his plane at the Merrill Airport next to what is now Alaska Regional Medical Center. It looked like any other home from the outside. I live about a mile from what was the house and I walked to the Fred Meyer near it (Creekside Center). Anyway, the points Dr Grande makes about Hanson were what the guy from the FBI Behavioral Science Division ,Roy Hazelwood described. Hazelwood told officer Glenn Frothe "Don't tell me about the guy, tell me more about the crime scenes and I will tell YOU about the guy". Hazelwood told police what traits to look for and he had been spot on. Hanson had also been a volunteer firefighter and burned down one of his own businesses and then showed up to fight the fire as if nothing happened. Then again, people in Anchorage are different than in the towns and villages. You stay to yourself and don't really know your neighbors. You don't need to know your neighbors, not like in a village.

I think this is the first instance of a serial killer I've ever been genuinely intrigued by the nature of his marriage; I wish there could be some kind of follow up or study of the spouses. Given there would be some form of abuse, at the least in the form of manipulation - I'm still extremely curious about the dynamics of the marriage and how his disdain for females may or may not have bled into their relationship. Surely assessing and studying the family and spouses of these personality types in a greater capacity could lead to further insight of mental health, criminality as well as what dynamics could implicate future offending.
Not to suggest that we don't already have some information that we could speculate over, it's just how much more can we learn from those 'close' to these personality types?
