Ahem,... Don't be trash-talking Boeing, it might be hazardous to your health.
One might argue that at this time Boeing IS hazard to everyones health
It might even make you suicidal!
Keep your doors on fellas. They aren't that bad.
@@tim1883 Boeing is the rich kid with all the education and opportunities who blew it all on parties. It's the Prodigal Son of space companies who was use to Big Daddy Uncle Sam paying the bills.
His eyes will still be wide open and never blink.
I worked at Boeing for 18 Years. When they moved their headquarters out of Seattle, everything fell apart.
Do you think that the move to SC to hobble the union caused most of the damage?
nah it was already falling apart,
that was just to rub it in.
I first did a big job for Boeing in the 80's. The Boeing Gloves meant your hands in your pants while they built themselves. I also worked on the Wing Machine. I can't believe that rivet gun worked. Lazy and amaxing. The Lazy B.
@@TheAngryAstronaut no the Chi-town move did the damage.
@@TheAngryAstronaut Not sure but when I worked there, they packed up and moved to Chicago. It was a huge company with the feel of a small company until they moved.
STARLINER WAS OBSOLETE BEFORE IT EVEN LEFT THE FACTORY ! ! !
There are 4 crew dragons. So even if one was disabled or destroyed, they have 3 more and one more on the way.
Starliner is the last gasp of "Old Space". It's failures are both systemic and endemic.
Somebody is being paid off.
Boeing must have heard of the saying, 'Plata o Plomo' Silver or Lead.
@@jimmyzhao2673 I prefer lead, it's sweeter when you chew it.
Can I get some action on that? I raise sheep in deep country. Maybe i could hide a UFO in my barn.
Demons say,"feathers or lead".
It may still happen that Starship launches men into orbit before Starliner.
I'm glad I'm not flying on that rocket given Boeing record lately!
They better have a crew dragon on stand-by to mount a rescue mission.
you could always take your chances on one of their jets 😅
Thank you Jordan. Looking forward to Dream Chaser launch
Yep Dreamchaser is where it's at!
WHY DO WE NEED STARLINER WHEN DRAGON HAS PROVED THAT IT IS BETTER AND CHEAPER ? ? ?
Glad to see someone understanding the pitfalls of Starliner. Scrap it before someone gets hurt or worse.
Starliner, as with all government projects, is required for the votes, jobs, that it generates across the US. Getting a working space launch system out of the project is just a benefit.
perfect post..
Well said
we need a secrect word for boeing.. just to keep us safe lol

STARLINER IS GOING NOWHERE FAST ! ! !
THERE'S NO EARTHLY WAY OF KNOWING WHICH WAY THIS STARLINER IS GOING ! ! !
Sierra Space's craft Dreamchaser is very cool, and I hope it's successful. I'm rooting for them all to be successful. I especially like Dreamchaser on top of a Falcon-9.
That seems like it's a good combination of performance, capability, and reusability.
At this point in time NASA doesnt need starliner, NASA needs the next vehicle that will keep us in space.
Dream Chaser! Just needs a falcon 9 for a ride!
I can't believe Boeing is being trusted to build a manned spacecraft.
Starliner is no longer a space mission craft but a congressional jobs program and automatic teller machine for Boeing. NASA is has no say in it, unfortunately. It's utility expired in 2018/19 before it even flew.
The purpose of Starliner is to create jobs at ULA and its subcontractors. Whether it carries astronauts to orbit is secondary.
STARLINER IS A FLYING COFFIN DUMPSTER ! ! !😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Flying on that thing should be a punishment for crime
THE INEVITABLE ONGOING STARLINER DEBACLE ! ! !
The door will probably fly off mid flight
👀
that would be awkward 😅
I love that Dreamchaser and can’t wait for it to launch.
Elon wanted and had Dragon designed to be capable of propulsive landing. NASA mandated the water landing for Dragon.
interesting
probably just to give starliner a chance 😅
Thank you for all your hard work posting these. I will support you financially when I am able, and I apologize for enjoying them for free in the meantime.
One thing the Sierra Dream Chaser cannot do that Boing does: provide 35,000 direct jobs + thousands more in indirect supply chain.
This is the only metric that matters for the Congress to keep NASA alive.
Starliner is a bit of a White Elephant 🐘
STARLINER WAS OBSOLETE WHILE IT WAS STILL ON THE DRAWING BOARD ! ! !
Nice vid AA 👍👍👍
If it's Boeing, I 'ain't going!
How original. Did you think that up yourself?

Great video!
That's $35 mil more PER ASTRONAUT! Can we say "price gouging"??
I had a dream last week where the Atlas booster failed much like the Challenger did on launch. I saw the entire craft falling into the ocean. I really hope that this was just a nightmare...
Considering Atlas V has never had a failure, I would say your nightmare is baseless. The last Atlas which failed was an Atlas I, back in 1993, and it still reached orbit, just not the right orbit.
I feel the launch will go well. When the capsule is on its own after separation, at that point I’m concerned.
Glad you've been enjoying the weather, AA. For anyone who doesn't live here, the UK weather so far this year has been the most miserable in memory. But finally, the last two days, something you could almost mistake for spring. Perhaps there's a metaphor for Boeing in there somewhere.
Boeing is going to show you the door...if they can find it.
They can't find it. That's why they've started shooting people.
The door is on the ground, the bathroom is on the right.

Thank for info
About Starliner:Did you notice the metal headrest? How that can be safe for one's head? Lots of metal, doesn't look too safe. Go Dreamchaser!!
Not to even mention the fact that the "seats" are really just 3D printed plastic too against a metal backing
@@notapplicable2636 the seats on the U.S.S Enterprise from Star Trek were safer than that, and people died falling off those 😂
I got to sit in an SR-71. They use similar technology with pilots in basically spacesuits.
The seats are built into the suits. The helmet is the headrest.
@@jtjames79 that can't be good...
@@notapplicable2636 Everyone does it that way. SpaceX uses a single piece of custom carbon fiber.
No way I'd go into space inside of one of those things.
Boeing whistleblowers saving the day again. Hopefully that one didn’t get deleted like the poor guys that have blown the whistle about Boeing’s planes.
They just terminated a second whistleblower.
The government will never drop Boeing, even if there's a catastrophic faulure with starliner with all lives lost. In fact they'll just give them another contract.
AA. Another expert an insightful post. Thank you for your service and pointing out common sense.
Is this the back engineered UAP technology you always talk about Jordan ? Great stuff 😉✌
Absolutely no need for Starliner. What we need is a REUSEABLE vehicle like Dreamchaser.
Thanks!
Thanks so much for your generous support!!
Hey Angry, thanks for the update. It will be interesting to see how the Dreamchaser heat tiles will handle the hear and stay put, both troublesome issues for Orion and Starship.
One benefit I can point out is that Starliner doors and windows are opening much more easier than competition. Who knows, maybe this maybecome important sometime...
They need it cause the people who control their budget told them they do. Man I don't envy those astronauts. Or the people that have to explain why they're going with a contractor that's charging more per seat on a vehicle with such a lousy track record, seriously behind schedule, and from a company with some serious track record issues as well
The bonus for the CEO of Boeing was $33 million for 2023. Ugh!
Love the new glasses!
Careful with Boeing, you might end up in a box. Good to see the UK is treating you to some rare sunshine.
Thanks.
Hope they will survive
OMG Sunshine :) Enjoy it while it lasts mate. You are becoming a true Brit!
So they’re actually trying to put people in it!?!?
Yeah. It's a scary thought. I wouldn't do it. I'm serious, I wouldn't do it.
It will be crewed with Boeing whistleblowers.
@@rozzgrey801lmao
@@rozzgrey801 I don't think there are any left honestly.
Boeing should change their name to Deathtrap.
THE WOEING IN BOEING STARLINER-MAX ! ! !
Breaking news, launch postponed for safety inspection
Yep. I agree.
One is the primary, and the other is the backup. When assuming it becomes available, the cheaper ride IMHO should be the primary, and the expensive ride should become the backup if really needed. There might be some minimum launches in the original contract, which would force expensive launches within a time limit.
Another interesting question is that since Elon Musk open sourced the technology to land the first stage of these lift offs and Space X has been doing it for a decade why are these other idiot companies still throwing away perfectly good rocket motors?
True. It’s like if Boeing whistleblowers were flying in Boeing airplanes; high death rate. 😜
I THOUGHT 3D PRINTING WAS GOING TO MAKE MANUFACTURING ROCKETS AND SPACECRAFT CHEAPER ? ? ?
It's the bureaucracy at boeing that is the problem and the cost. No iterative design.
Not if Boeing has anything to say about it. They just won't use 3d printing.
TL:DW No need whatsoever, in any case or circumstance.
The only cases Jordan made somewhat worth mentioned is
1) manual override controls, as if computers aren't way more precise and fast response than humans, but I have to mention that the enormous amount of software problems made me think the guys at Boing might have known several things we didn't;
2) ISS re-boosting. If this is as important as it sounds, wouldn't be better to make a non-manned module that does exactly that? waaaay cheaper and simpler, no need to support humans inside !
THERE ARE ONLY SO MANY TIMES YOU CAN KEEP FLOGGING A DEAD HORSE ! ! !
Blue Sky & Sunshine are rare commodities here in the UK ;) They should have gone with Dreamchaser *Shrug*
Man, Again. I don’t always agree with you. But you are right on the money with this one.
Crew rated dreamchaser 👌🏻
Dream chaser also began in 2010 and recently was finished, so it's not exactly any better than starliner
@@Smiles10130it would have been finished much sooner, if NASA gave it $4.2 Billion instead of giving it to Boeing...
Question: What is the ULA launch cost contribution to the per seat price?
But how do they even justify the almost double price?
Amen I think
It's a little late. I've been trash talking for years.

THE STARLINER CAPSULE LOOKS VERY CRUDE INSIDE & OUT COMPARED TO THE DRAGON & ORION CAPSULES WHICH LOOK CLEANER & SLEAKER INSIDE & OUT & ESPECIALLY WITH THEIR 'ALL GLASS COCKPITS/FLIGHTDECKS' ! ! !
Why isn't he wearing his trademark shades?
He’s in Britain now. Over here, sunglasses are something you buy cheap from the petrol station shop on that one summer day that looks like it might turn a bit sunny later on, and then you lose them or leave them in your car’s glovebox (the place where Americans usually keep their gun!) in hope that they’ll still be there when you need them again sometime the following summer!
We need it because no one wants to tell the guy who dedicated a major portion of his life that he is out of a job, thousands of times over.
How do Aliens wash their windows they're always squiky clean 😂
Inter dimensional paper towels, they exist both inside and outside the craft at the same time, it moves itself.
THE WOEING STARLINER ! ! !😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
NASA does not need Starliner. Starliner is the whole reason for the two-company approach to the manned space capsule program: With two, if one f*cks up, there is still another to pick up the slack. Now, NASA would do better with two functional manned launch systems, so, now that they have Crew Dragon, NASA should look into a third option (Sierra Space) to complete the two it originally wanted.
its not spacex's fault dragon doesnt land on land... It was designed to do this but nasa wanted water landings.
The Starliner is all polotical. If I recall properly, the Crew Dragon was origanly designed to land on land using the draco engines. But NASA insested on water landingd.
Yeah. Technically, Dragon can do a reboost and land on land if they just let SpaceX do it. Elon Musk already said it but NASA is not interested. Maybe because, it will be the end of Starliner if they ask SpaceX to do that
No. The water landing was the first landing qualification. The propulsive landing was to take 2 years after water qualification. NASA insisted on a redesign so that the legs does not pop through the heat shield. SX management decided that water landing was good enough, since, Orion was doing it, too. So, SX invested the money into it's Superheavy booster and Starship program.
Solid rocket boosters should never be used on manned flights.
Incredible the U.S. landed men on the Moon only 9 years from the beginning of Apollo, but Boeing, a very important and big aerospace company, cannot after 7 years or so, seems incapable of sending a spacecraft into mere low Earth orbit.
I would not be surprised when the next launch attempt takes place, the headlines will read something like this - “New problems with Starliner that have cropped up have forced the postponement of the first flight until next year.” It is a headline that has come so familiar in the past few years.
Of course, the next launch attempt may go very well and Starliner’s problems will finally be behind it. But it is also possible Bugs Bunny or Mickey Mouse
may become U.S. President before a Starliner flight actually takes place!
The 2 astronauts are showing a lot of courage in flying the Starliner and I pray and hope their courage and patience waiting to fly will be rewarded with a safe and successful flight. I think mere mortals would not dare fly Starliner under any circumstances whatsoever.
And in current dollars, how much was spent in those 7 years?
I think you might be too hopeful on Dream Chaser's timeline. I love that thing, don't get me wrong. Even just the cargo version becoming operational will be a great thing. But they haven't even been able to test fly the cargo version yet and haven't even built the crew version.
Complete waste of tax dollars
You answered your own question about why Starliner is needed by NASA: Readjusting the ISS's orbit.
They really don't need it for transportation. They have more than 1 Dragon, and more than 1 Falcon, and there may even be a quick backup rig sitting and waiting in case something goes south, "up there". Depending on a "Questionable Enemy" for transportation or vehicle parts, has Never been any manor of sensible, and NASA knows it. But until Elon comes up with a "Tug" to push the ISS around, Starliner will be used to do that. . . And most likely that will be main and only reason from now on. They'll obviously throw on a few Astronauts and do a station crew swap, but the main reason for flying Starliner instead of Dragon, is to push the ISS back into orbit. . . something that Elon hasn't done just yet. (Star Donkey?? 😁)
But, you already know that, right?
The Northrop Grumman Cygnus spacecraft can also reposition the ISS... it still runs for NASA to complement the SpaceX Cargo Dragon even though its dedicated Antares launcher is for the moment discontinued...Cygnus has already launched on Atlas V 3 times and now Falcon 9 once ! So that is exactly why they need more than one company and program doing the same thing...
1. Never hurts to have a back up option.
2. What are the cancellation penalties in the contract
There are 4 crew dragons. That is enough redundancy I think.
It hurts if your backup option is extremely expensive. Dragon is way more affordable, and there are already backups of it.
W
What happens if SpaceX is forced to ground all Crew Dragons? As happened to the Shuttle .
True redundancy comes from not relying on more of the same design but having different solutions (if you can afford it)
I'm not that impressed with Starliner, but with access to Soyuz becoming politically difficult, having an alternative design solution for manned flight does have its benefits (if those benefits are worth the cost.....)
Personally, I hope manned Dream chaser will become the alternative to crew dragon
@nickslater7251 SpaceX has fast turnaround and development times, unlike Boeing. So if a disaster occurred and one of the Crew Dragons blew up, then SpaceX can make changes and build a new upper stage fast. This is because of their emphasis on rapid manufacturing processes that they employ. Musk mentioned that this step has been more difficult than actually building the rocket parts. Boeing, on the other hand, would take many years to change course, which would bankrupt any legitimate company.
90 m per seat against 55 m by SpaceX? Jesus NASA, what are you thinking?
I will never finish to understand why so much unconditional love with Boeing. Great video Jordan enjoy the blue sky!
Boeing was the most beautiful woman in the world, who loved nasa and nasa loved back, but over the years she has gained weight and became lazy and violent (I love boeing, don't kill me), and nasa keeps on remembering the good ol days.
@@Smiles10130
That sounds pretty accurate, haha! I love Boeing too, I’m an airline pilot, now retired, and had the chance to fly the beautiful 727. It’s just that I miss the old Boeing….
As to the Dream Chaser, if things go really well, you won't see a human rated Dream Chaser for at least five years. By that time there will be other technologies in place too. I would reserve judgement until the cargo version launches maybe in June, July, August......
I did not think you lived in England!!! What part ? north south?
Still no UFO technology
NASA awarded Boeing almost 2 times the money to develop an ISS vehicle as Space X and NASA wants it to be a success!😊

Not to mention the fact that Boeing's Starliner pricetag was already more than 60% more expensive than SpaceX's Crew Dragon. Not to mention the additional $287 million NASA handed over to Boeing before the Inspector General caught on and put a dead stop to _that_ grift. Let's run the numbers: If they send, say, 16 total astronauts up on Starliner (calling it three flights in total), each of those seats actually cost NASA $208 million, or 278% more than what SpaceX charges, or *ONE-HUNDRED AND FIFTY THREE MILLION DOLLARS MORE THAN SPACEX'S 55 MILLION.*
