Torey Krug. Lane Hutson as of right now is only a PP specialist and a 3 on 3 OT . Each teams tries to find at least three specialist. PP, PK and someone who can patrol the ice and enforce the game. that's why we picked up from FA Kovacevic (PK specialist) top 9 rotation. Drafted Hutson(PP specialist). and undrafted Xhekaj (enforcer) top 9 rotation. Returning to Krug. Boston picked up undrafted Krug for the same reason. They saw in Krug a PP guy 3rd d pairing t best nothing more. i'm not saying they can't improve cuz krug did improved but if youre giving me the 10th ov for Hutson I might take it . and reach for Adam Jiricek. saying Hutson is the next Makar is a piss poor job at seeing right in front of you. Makar is always skating like Mcdavid and Mackinnnon. North, South, East, West. Physically implicated. Grit ,willpower. PP, PK, 5-5, 3-3 OT. it's like saying Beck is the next Mackinnon. The closest of Makar we had was Pk Subban. and Pk did'nt hold the flame too long. Makar is a total BEAST. On a totally other universe than Hutson. Record breaking and player exeption means nothing.
When people talk prospects they seem to ALWAYS look at players that are playing with other elite linemates which elevates their points. So the next Makar woudl also need the likes of Rantanen and McKinnon geesh Letang had Crosby and Malkin to propel his production When talking about players "seeing things"often this is simply the case that the player has above average skating that buys his time it does not necessarily mean the player has great vision he just has more time to see things Lane Hutson is that type of player as he skates around for several seconds looking over his options. A D i personally like that just entered the NHL is Zellweger I think he is vary talented but to get that SUPERSTAR you usually also need a big shot like the Lidstrom's Bourque's but an average shot is good enough if your other talents are all elite. One thing for certain is that junior hockey is not a great indication because even down the stretch junior teams will give away picks to win NOW and form elite lines that elevate all their stats. Now if a scout is good enough to see greatness without looking at stats "seldom ever happens"then kudos to that scout and organization for having him.The Habs could use one of those scouts.
A lot of highlights on the powerplay great players can also ply 5 on 5. Look at all those highlight goals the goalie is on his knees all the time it is sad how inept goalies have become.
Please stop these "Next Someone" comparisons. I remember back in the days when I scouted in Slovakia, NHL teams were looking for Next Zdeno Chara- Mezei, Kudroc, Durak, Jurcina, Stehlik, Valabik, Mihalik were all big physical D from Slovakia. It took them almost 10 years to realize there is just one Zdeno Chara in whole world.
Khanin looks so smart and aware and that shot is deceptive and heavy. Bro top 10 skill this draft
looks like david perron

He’ll need to work on his explosiveness a LOTTTT
