Ya got this doing mighty fine thks for sharing your project with us l like what ya doing so no worries waiting for more to come later
Nice Job Ron !!!
Your over building that rear clip the way you had it was fine, you didn’t need that ugly plate over it , I would have box frame completely , you need it strong where motor is not in rear .
The fish plating and reinforcement may be overkill as some say with the flathead but it is all ready done now and ready for any power upgrade in the future. I belivelive in doing it right in the first place. It looks good and well done Travis.
For sure I’d rather be overkill than underkill
Nice work on the windshield opening. I will for sure use this
thanks Mark!
Those are some nice welds!
Thanks John! I’m always practicing!
@@RACGARAGE I have a 1930 ford coupe with a 6 inch chop about to chop the windshield frame do I chop from the top or bottom thanks
Your weld looks great to me ! Nice job great project dude, keep up the good work !!!
Thanks man I appreciate it!!
Great job. Glad I found you. 👍🏻
Looks great!
Nice job on the kick ups your welding looks great.
I cant wait to get a Tudor and start building it. Your videos are making it hard to wait on getting one.
Don’t wait go for it!!
Love the videos! You're covering things I can reference later when I get there with mine. Thanks!
I’m glad I’m helping!
Travis, where did the rear frame mock-up come from? That's exactly what I want to do to mine.
Thanks for your videos...be safe, God Bless!!
It’s from boling brothers, they can make anything just have to call them, this piece isn’t on their website.
Great work, keep it up man!
Just as easy to build a new frame. What your doing will work fine and your welds are very nice.
Thanks!
I was wandering how much was chopped from top.
Nice, looking forward for the next vid!
Should have the body on!
Beautifully done ! on the kick up task, If I may ask, where did you purchase the pair to fab. it in the frame? And secondly , can this kick up work if your going to run full fenders ? I'm building a 1929 2dr. sedan ?
This windshield is sick 😍
Thanks brother
Looking ahead please no 350/350 in a Ford. If you want 350/350 there's lots of nice 40's/50's Chevys out there. Like the videos. thanks.
Travis like your fabrication,, And your brackets extra boxing the frame you’re running is for flat head motors not a lot of torque.... guys that I ran with. they’re building and box the entire frame,,,,because they were running CHEV small block motors.. I finally get mine together..1929 sedan chop 3” weld together and hammer with oxygen and acetylene back in 1985...... I’m gonna box of entire frame because I wanna run small blocks or a straight six looking for Plymouth slant six.. Which be real wild learn how to drive on a Plymouth valiant 1961 slant six pushbutton transmission on the dash I was 13 years old and a Corn Field,,,spring break,,,,rainy day in Somers Connecticut. ...... take care keep up the great work junkmando
Thanks a lot man, yeah flattys aren’t that powerful so it’ll be plenty strong! Straight six would be cool, you don’t see a lot of them.
Tks always interesting and informative
Glad I can help!
Yew got the shout out haha!
I would have said it but I already recorded it when we spoke!
@@RACGARAGE Hahaha it's all good legend keep up the good work, smashing it out!
I boxed the whole frame to the cross member. Fish plates are over kill. Especially since tey arec way thicker than the frame material. If a failure ocures it will be at the junction of the two different thicknesses.
rather overkill than underkill!
Travis use krylon stock #1613 semi_ flat black, you'll love it
Great video. Maybe a dumb question but why does every model A cowl people are selling have the A pilars missing? Don't want an open car windshield. Where do you find A pilars and header?
Not a stupid question. Most cowls you are finding are from doodlebugs. Cut down A’s from the depression. They were used on farms and around the yard, they didn’t need a windshield so they cut them off. It is hard to find just a cowl that is intact. Best bet is to buy a whole car or a whole body.
@@RACGARAGE yes 100%. I bought a doodle bug and doodle bug cowl. Both missing A pilars. See tons of these pilarless cowls for sale. I'll keep looking. Thank you for the feedback and knowledge.
I got a 28/29 a pillar all the way to the header I'll sell.
I'm in Ca
A lot of them are open car cowls as well, which don't really have A pillars.
What tungsten electrode are you using for sheet metal welding?
I use purple tri mix for almost everything
@@RACGARAGE What size tungsten and wire?
@@carolvondal4385 3/32 tungsten and I use either .035 or .045 wire
welding sheet metal with 1/16 and.023 rod I am burn hole in metal - any help
@@carolvondal4385 it’s probably not your rod or tungsten. It sounds like you’re probably welding at too high of an amperage. Try around 25 amps or so.
how much of a chop is on that?
4”
I was wondering if u ever build hot rods to sell?
I do, I always have a personal to sell project going, right now it’s a 29 roadster pickup
@@RACGARAGE Do u have a u-tube video of u building it?
Question: why not box the entire frame? Enjoy
Not really needed and would cost add cost to the customer. If it was a modern motor I would for sure box the frame
Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view !"
Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam."
Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!"
Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..."
Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!"
Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky."
Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction."
Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment?
