- I took apart my 2019 Kawasaki Ninja 650 and vinyl wrapped it. This is my first attempt at a whole bike so yeah I am a beginner so have some mercy lol It was only 122 in materials and about 6-8hrs of work. Not bad and so affordable to change yearly.

I love these "first time" videos. Been thinking about replacing or repainting my track bike fairings but wrapping seems like a better option. These kinds of tutorials give me the confidence to just go and do it.
The pink doesn't do it for me personally, on that particular bike, but the end result looks really nice!

First time and it looks good. A few minor imperfections but i really took my time. Took my like over a week to do it.
I went with Matt black. It originally was glossy black. 2nd owner painted it that narudo gray color which I hated.
Next time I’ll wrap it for sure, but I think at that point I’ll do it on a new bike, not my 04 CBR

love the color, personally I would remove the orange rim tape but nonetheless looks sick. i have a scorpion helmet with that same hot pink color. love it!

not wanting to wrap bikes because it doesnt hold up as long is crazy...it means the customer will return sooner and give you more money, duh?

Looks good for a beginner, i could never do it. Im torn on the pink, looks great but i would never ride it. Could definitely see one of my girls cruising that around though.
Its funny, colors are weird for men, pink is too much but i would rock a lightish purple all day. I dunno 🤷

You can absolutely do it that way but lots of cutting and knife less tape needed so be extra careful

Nice. I‘m new at this stuff so can someone tell me he difference between vinyl wrapping and fairing kits? As I think the fairings aren’t the original pieces for the bike but are they liked painted or also wrapped?
Thanks! Fairing kits replace the entire plastic pieces themselves. All the parts I "wrapped" would just be painted or pre-designed. essentially the body panels on bikes are called fairings. The vinyl is just a giant sticker and I put that over my original fairings to alter the look but keep the original color in tact
I want to wrap my bike the same way but I have problems with the original stickers. Will the wrap damage the original stickers when it will be peeled off?
I took some of the wrap off last week and no issues with the stickers so far but it was only wrapped for a season

how many feet of vinyl do you suggest to wrap a 2012 R6?
I used a 5x10 roll and had extra left if I wanted to do my gas tank or any mess ups.

A hundred twenty bucks for vinyl? Why? Is it really that expensive? I bought vinyl and did my bike back in 2015 or so and I only remember spending like twenty five bucks or so. It came out OK but I wasn't really happy with it so, after one season, I peeled it off and went with Plastidip.
Yeah that was what I got as a "deal" lol its pricey.
I suspect supply and demand caused the price increase. Vinyl wrap has been around for a while but it was mostly used for inside cupboards and cheap furniture type applications. Once people started needing giant single sheets for car hoods etc and it got popular the prices went through the roof. My grandmother used an opaque vinyl wrap on the bathroom windows when i was just a little kid 40hrs ago. Block the peepers but lets light in. Lol.

I'd give it an 8.5/10 because of the cold in the garage it's starting to lift a bit in the edges that I didn't tuck right but from a good bit away it's a 10 😅

Lol good question. Guess that depends on how much room for error you want to allow yourself. The 5x10 gave me about 2-3 pieces of wiggle room for error
