So glad you made this decision and i hope you are too. BTW, Mom and Dad are real troopers! So great to see them in your videos. • @jasonlockhart4647
    @jasonlockhart4647 Před rokem +2

    The reason your hulls are in such good condition is because the water was so low that the holes sat in the mud and with the boat trying to move around the mud keeps anything from growing on it my brother's got a center console that has been on the dock for a couple years now and somehow there's nothing growing on the bottom because as low tide comes it settles in the mud and then high tide comes and it comes out of the mud so the boat moving around like that on the mud keep stuff from growing on it

    I’m a commercial electrician in the states, and on my work van, I keep a water pump, that attaches to the end of my drill, for siphoning water out. I mention that, just because I saw you and your Dad, using a hand pump. Just an idea for a cheap, portable alternative. Not to mention, the power source, a drill, it’s one of those tools you’ll always have w/ ya. I don’t use mine much, but when I do, I’m always reminded of why I put up with the pump getting in my way, the other 364 days a year. LoL
    Congrats, btw, I’m glad everything exceeded your expectations below the waterline. I look forward to seeing where everything goes from here. BOL, and stay safe. 🇺🇸

    Hi Mark, great video and a great boat you have there. Everyone is different and everyone will have their own ideas. For me i would concentrate on the under water side, get the rig up and get everything else ready in the 3 months to get her able to sail. Take 2 to 3 months and sail her to Port St Louis where you were before and where the guys from Seabird are. Take her out there and spend the time needed to get her exactly as you want her to look both inside and outside. Even if it takes a year to complete. Your a young man and have the whole of your life to spend sailing the world, get your sailing fix this year and spend next year getting her ready for the big adventure.
    Just my thoughts as we all think different. Good luck and we all will keep watching.👍

    You certainly have good reason to be grateful. Few handmade vessels setting for that long would have escaped the ravages of time and the elements. Solid hulls and new through hulls will give you a good peace of mind. Unusual vessel, but you've been wanting one. You've certainly got one and I'm interested in seeing what you will do with it.

    Love it! I've followed your journey since you got Mahi, I questioned the dinghy rig set up you guys used and was blown away how effective that turned out to be! I'm tempted now to put my mirror's foresail onto my big boat and see what happens :P Can't wait to see the coming videos man :)

    Free Energy...you could put a huge canopy roof full of solar. Live at anchor in the south Pacific 🏖️⛵🌊 😎 just add a water maker 🙏

    So awesome that your Mom and Dad were there for your move. They are true sailors. Your Dad flying around the deck, doing everything he can. Great project.

    You can always judge how popular a channel is by the likes. The fact such a small channel has nearly a thousand in the first half hour speaks volumes.

    Nice one Mark, truly living the dream. I fancy a summer in that marina opposite centraal station.. so much fun to be had in the dam with a dinghy!

    As soon as I saw that hull exposed I just had this picture in my head of Mahi sailing through clear Pacific waters! I see great things ahead!

    From the looks of your first sail I'd say Mahi chose you. She's been getting ready for you 12 years. This is going to be exciting!
