  • I walk through the unboxing and install of Pyramid LED Whips Starlink Mast Mount with the bumper pull mount on our 2019 Grand Design Imagine XLT 21BHE. I walk through each step for mounting the bracket and mast and show the Starlink dish mounted up and in use.

    Thank you! I bought a HP Wedge Mount and a DF5005 pole adaptor. Can't find a way to mount to my F-150 or my Airstream Basecamp because no A-frame on the tongue- HELP! 😂

      @@DrXtoph you could try a hitch mount on the truck or pipe mount you could drill into the inside bed rail if you don't have a cap. Mount it towards the rear if you run a cover. Or you could drill a pivot mount in on the roof of your camper but that's committing.

    Neato. Will be installing this onto a semi. Bit worried about the height, defenitely need 1 extension at least and im scared of the starlink falling out while putting it up. And possible theft

      @moncool17Gaming, you can always add more extensions to the pole. The mast comes with a plastic insert that the dish snaps into place so it shouldn't fall out. You have to use the release button to remove it. We worried more about theft and damage when it was on the ground stand than up on the mast. The dish is also tied to your router serial number so if someone does steal it they can't really use the dish.

    How does that setup do in the wind?

    • @jacobsupgrades
      @jacobsupgrades  Před rokem +2

      @JohnDrach, It holds up very well in the wind. I have used it in 50mph winds without it being knocked down or interfering with internet connection. I have used a rubber shim to keep it snug within the base to prevent it from rattling around under heavy winds.

    How did you get the cord inside the RV?

    • @jacobsupgrades
      @jacobsupgrades  Před rokem

      @yazenaswad5918, my Grand Design came with a hinged cover pass though on the floor for water hoses, cable, etc at the driver side storage. If you don't have one here's a kit for making your own. I suggest in a corner out of the way but easy to access. amzn.to/3QsN32s

    How has the mast held up over time?

    • @jacobsupgrades
      @jacobsupgrades  Před rokem +1

      @slawekwolski5447, the mast structural integrity has held up well but the paint has not. After camping along the Pacific Coast in California it has started to rust on the inside of the mast and where it connects. I probably should have washed it sooner but this is the only fault I've found so far. I have also used some thin flexible rubber shims to prevent it from rattling in the bumper mount giving a solid fit. I take this down and reassemble it each time we move to a new campsite so I'm sure it's added to some paint wear, chips etc.
