    Good job. I'm setting mine up at the moment and was just going to sit my dish on the roof and put out in the paddock if parked under trees. Your pipe setup is simple and easy, I might go down this path yet. Cheers.

    Wade the 2 Caos boxes have just got a piece of thin aluminium in the bottom and they each have 3 6x10mm bolts and nuts holding them through the top of the square Supa Roo pole box. They sit nice and have been totally waterproof now for over 12 months. Hope this helps mate.

    Thanks for putting this up. This arrangement looks like the business to me. Interested in how you ended up fixing the Caos box to the van. Any thoughts much appreciated.

    Starlink accessories are pricey man, $115 for that little pole adapter, whatta rip.

    Where did you come out under the van? Did you cut a new hole??

    • @travellingozourway
      @travellingozourway  Před rokem

      Yeah basically straight down and through the floor under the kitchen sink. Then silastic to seal it up. Pretty easy. Note we are 6 months down the track and no issues at all.

    Great video, Where did you get the pole from?

      David I got the Aluminium pole and flat bar from a local aluminium supplier, it’s all standard sizing.

    Hi Bob, I'm about to get a starlink system for my offroad caravan and will not have access to 240v power. How big an inverter do you need to operate the starlink roam system when you are remote? Thanks Peter

      @travellingozourway  Před rokem

      Hi Pete, Starlink peaks at about 200watts. Having said that you can buy a 400watt inverter from JCAR (itechworld 400watt portable plug in inverter) we have one and it plugs into the back of the RAM to charge our computers and camera gear and will easily run our Starlink if needed. We have a 3000watt inverter wired into the van so can’t really tell from that. A portable unit would be the way to go mate if you didn’t want a larger inverter. Hope this helps mate

    Very nice is that a 2 metre pipe?

    • @travellingozourway
      @travellingozourway  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Yes, it is just short of the van width so when it folds down it doesn’t protrude out the side.

    Great job. Such a simplistic design. What is the length of the aluminium plate that you have on the swivel end( im currently planning to make this for our van )

    • @travellingozourway
      @travellingozourway  Před rokem +2

      Evan, I just bought a metre of aluminium plate and have it about 350mm high to allow for a pivot and a locking bolt. Hope that helps

      Great idea now to find someone to make it for me. The pole carrier ive been looking at too. Your setup is wonderful.

  • @pauldiacono1116

    Does it run on 12v or 240v? Cheers

    • @travellingozourway
      @travellingozourway  Před 7 měsíci

      Runs on 240v so you will need an inverter either in your van or a small portable 400w plug in inverter will easily run starlink.
